    Wonderful video. I am now exploring painting on fabric and embroidering the results. This video gave techniques, material and encouragement. Well done. Thank you.

    If you 'Heat Set' with an iron 10-15 seconds on the pencils it will help make them color fast. Then when you put the Textile medium colors will not run. You can use a large brush over the entire design - no runs. Have you tried Watercolor pencils - I like them more than regular (softer more pigment). I have even used an eraser on pencils if I make a mistake (before heat setting).

    Fabulous! Did I miss instruction about what kind of fabric to use - washed or not?

    Thank you for the great video. I have done the same technique but on cardstock with redwork embroidery and I also used inktense pencils to color in the design. This really is a wonderful technique and I picked up some great pointers from you.

      @@gslchavez My niece's husband makes them. I have a couple left for 24.95 (inc. shipping) . They aren't in the shop. If you want one, let me know here: lindeegembroidery.com/contact

    Thanks so much ❤! Very good tutorial and thorough. Been wanting to try this out!❤😊 do you know if or have you tried this on a fabric lamp shade? I guess I could use a blow dryer for the heating part? Thanks so much 😊😊

    • @LindeeGVideos
      @LindeeGVideos  Год назад

      Thanks! I'm not sure a hair dryer gets hot enough. But with a lampshade, it's not likely to get washed or wet so I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, with the inkTense pencils, it is pretty much set when it dries.

    I color in coloring books HA! and I also sew, small things and quilts so you are inspiring me to use my inktense in a different way. I was thinking on some squares to go in a lap quilt or a table runner. I was wondering if there was a product that we could act on the borders to prevent bleeding when the aloe is applied? Surely in the coloring world such a product exists, bears looking up.

    • @LindeeGVideos
      @LindeeGVideos  Год назад

      The bleeding occurs because of the wicking attributes of the fabric. There are "resist" products we use with batik processes but then you have to deal with getting it out. The trick is to apply it lightly and carefully and not paint it on like you're painting the side of a barn. I use the aloe instead of straight water because it is more controllable.

    I was wondering what are you using to soak up the color?

      I think you're asking about 3M Poster Tack. It's kind of like an artist's eraser.

    Are the embroidery patterns sewn with embroidery machine stitching or can they be sewn on domestic machine using outline only? thanks

      Hmm. Haven't tried it. You might try looking up some of the fiber artists and see if there are any special instructions.

    Do you hand embroidery your designs

    • @lindeegoodall2426
      @lindeegoodall2426 Год назад

      No, these are all machine embroidered. There's no reason you couldn't also color hand embroidery.

    Whats in the jar, water or medium

    • @lindeegoodall2426
      @lindeegoodall2426 Год назад

      Both. It's clear aloe vera gel thinned with water. About egg white consistency or a bit thinner works well.
