  • Caitlin Clark discusses her ear injury sustained on a hard screen in New York on June 2nd.
"Honestly, I've been popped on a couple screens," she said. "I actually ruptured my eardrum when we were in New York on a tough screen. So if I had to pick one right now, it'd probably be that. But great screens, I just didn't hear them. So it's kind of my own fault, but yeah, I'd probably pick those."
This was on June 21st, 90 minutes before playing in Atlanta. And three weeks after the incident.

@ScottAgness Can someone from the Fever check with the WNBA channel and see why they turn the camera away when they introduce the Fever? The last home game they cut off the intro to CC and last night they cut off they whole team intro. This was posted in the Indiana Fever channel and I've noticed this myself but I always forget about it. Every time they go to introduce the team, they cut away. One of the best moments I can remember is watching the Chicago Bull's intro when Michael Jordan played, and it always pumped everyone up. I'll post this on your next video if you don't get to this.

I noticed this too. It’s cut out of the broadcast. Was very strange.

Ruptured eardrum is a lot more serious than I thought it was tbh. I hope she's ok 😢

Is this the game she scored 3 and people thought there was something wrong with her ear?

Yes, that's the one. 1 of 10 from the floor. Now we know what happened with the whack to the head (no call, if I'm remembering rightly) that left her holding the side of her head and the trainer looking in her ear.

@@andrewhicks8340 I remember people saying that she sucked and was overrated because of this game and that even if there was something wrong with her ear it wouldn't mess with her playing ability. Lol delusional people.

@@chrisastin184 i had a coworker reiterate the same narrative after that game saying "look, she only had 3 points in the last game" blah blah blah and I shot back with some overall stats that she's been putting up up to that point and haven't had another convo with him about CC since.

Yes. I kind of wondered how she felt flying home because you aren't supposed to fly with ear problems

Ruptured eardrums often result in vertigo and problems with balance, which would almost certainly affect her shooting. Hopefully, it's only short term and heals well.
