21:25: "I'm not sure how old this town is". Established in 997, so 1025 years old. But in the 17 th century a large fire consumed a large portion of down town.
@13:40 yes it is electric, or a hybrid probably. They run on electricity for normal operation, but can use diesel engines for moving locations or in emergency. Most ferry crossings in Norway use either pure electric og hybrids these days. It is a requirement for new contracts so ferry companies have to either build new ferries or retrofit old ones as hybrid.
Hi, thanks for the Information! The ferry system in Norway is very impressive and modern! Some of the ferry's felt like mini cruses. We hope you are enjoying the series and thanks again for your comments. Sean and Emily seanandemilytravels.com/

Just stumbled across your channel. I lived in Trondheim from 1992 to 2019. Then I bought a house on the country side and moved closer to where I grew up, some 2 hours north of the city. We have a traffic rule you might not know about. In norway mopeds and motorcycles are allowed to drive in the Buss and Taxi lanes. Greetings from Norge. 🙂
Hi, thanks for your comment. What a great place to live! And in the countryside must be beautiful too 😊 We weren’t sure if we could use them or not so thanks for the info 😎👍🏻
Stunning scenery, epic riding! Really enjoying the series guys, and looking forward to Lofoten. By the way... free for motorbikes in the Mersey Tunnel 😊👍
Hi, thanks very much for your comment and we are really glad you are enjoying it! We have been looking forwards to Lofoten as well but the journey getting there has been so epic! Oh that's good that bikes are still free for the Mersey tunnel! We hope you enjoy the rest of the series (out Sat, Sun and Wednesdays) and hope to hear form you again. Cheers Sean and Emily

Some tunnels like the subsea tunnel near Kristiansund was a toll road for many years after it opened, but it is only to partially pay for the construction, not maintenance. I believe when the toll stopped it was the last manual toll collection on a public road left. It's all automatic now.
The tunnel system in Norway is very impressive! some even had round abouts inside. I think what really impressed us was when exiting the tunnel the lights got brighter to help your eyes adjust before exiting the tunnel. Thanks for the information. Sean and Emily seanandemilytravels.com/
Yeah it dates back almost 1000 years now, i think construction started in 1070, and the cathedral was completed around 1300. Thanks for sharing the medieval city name Nidaros, we hadn't heard that. Sean and Emily
Motorcycles luckily don't pay the tunnel fees 🙏👍 Some days when I have been on tour in Norway it has felt like we have been just riding in and out of tunnels, a lot of them 4 to 8 km long! Some day you should go through Lærdalstunneln which is the longest road tunnel in the world - 24,5 km!
That's good! I set up the app for any toll roads to pay automatically but as you confirm no payments where taken so that's awesome! -and i thought Switzerland had a lot of tunnels -Norway even has roundabouts inside theirs =)
29:30 if you want it to be a dark beer; just put on your sunglasses! About coastline; you missed mybe the most beautiful part; Helgelandskysten but ok it`s beautiful almost everywhere
Yeah I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way the whole country is spectacular, we wanted to go visit Sweden too so this is the route we chose. Hope you enjoyed the video
Not ideal for riding, but the whole of this trip, i can't help but imagine how even more beautiful all the places will be when covered in snow near Christmas time 😍
That was a long day in the saddle ! Excellent dronage....did we actually see you riding along? An Itchy Boots moment? All the best from a mountain in the Peloponnese, Nick
Hi Niko, thanks very much for your comment. It was a big day indeed -sometimes we lose track of time as we are enjoying the day so much and then realise we still have hours of riding to do lol. We just google Peloponnese -looks beautiful! =) Cheers Sean and Emily
The bus on the left at 22.26 min is the same kind of buses we have here in Malmö / Sweden too. 25 meter long and it’s a build from Van Hool in Belgium 🇧🇪. ( Sorry ; couldn’t help my self here 😂)
Hey Ake, in the words of Michael Caine 'not a lot people know that' 😂. We do appreciate random facts though so keep them coming =) -Wednesday's episode we go to Sweden! =) Cheers Sean and Emily
Me and many other think the Atlantic Ocean Road is a little overrated, in my case maybe because I live in Gothenburg and we have just that same nature. When I tour in Norway it is for the fjords, mountains, turquoise rivers, turquoise lakes, waterfalls and amazing sceneries and views 😊
Yeah it's always like that where you live, we live in Switzerland and obviously being a land locked country it's always nice to be near the ocean -especially ride over it! =) Norway has it all!
@@Dan-fo9dk The only thing not present at the Swedish westcoast is mountains. Since I am a huge fan of the Norwegian nature it's the mountains, fjords and so on I want to experience when I ride there I see no reason to be in the nature MOST similar to the Swedish nature where I live... The rest of the Norwegian nature is so amazing and nothing like the nature of any other country in Scandinavia or even in Europe.
We are running the Metzler Tourance next two’s for this tour. We got easily 10,000km out of them and if we had more curvy roads we would probably got more out of them. A great tire -we have now replaced them with another set.
@@SeanandEmily I see you are almost solely accessorized by Touratech…which is great gear…with the type of touring you do did you find it necessary to upgrade your skid plate?
Apart from the Skid plate being black and looking really cool 😎. It extends all the way to the back of the exhaust system which as well as physical protection from rocks etc it gives more protection against salt and general muck -especially in the winter time.
As much I love Norway in all ways I must confess that in my opinion that Atlantic Road is the most overhyped attraction of the country. There's that one cool bridge and then some smaller bridges and embankments. Of course I live in a country which has almost 190k lakes and as many islands, so seeing bridges and embankments doesn't feel so special. You got to Trondheim in this video! It is one of my favorite cities of Norway.
Yeah some other people from the area said the same. For us however we live in a land locked country with no sea so to be able to ride over the sea and smell the sea air with those awesome views was pretty cool. Yeah we loved Trondheim! (as you will see in the next video =)
Hi Erik, Sean here. I’m 6’2’’ and I find the wind protection good (granted not as good as on say the K1600 for example) but personally I find it great. I wear a peaked helmet which catches the wind a bit but it’s a play off for being able to block the sun at a moments notice. I have the standard seat on the high setting and i keep the suspension setting to automatic -I’m pretty much always flat footed when stopped. I hope you enjoyed the Video All the best Sean and Emily
