Join us as we continue our motorcycle tour through the breath-taking landscapes of Norway. In this video, we take you along as we ride to the Arctic Circle, experiencing the sheer beauty and untouched wilderness that this region has to offer.
Our journey begins on the iconic BMW R1250 GS Adventure, the perfect companion for this epic adventure. As we set off, we are filled with anticipation and excitement, knowing that we are about to witness some of the most incredible sights that Norway has to offer.
As we ride deeper into the Arctic Circle, the scenery becomes more awe-inspiring with each passing mile. The rugged mountains, cascading waterfalls, and crystal-clear lakes create a surreal backdrop that will leave you in complete awe.
One of the highlights of our trip is stopping at the Arctic Circle center for a much-needed lunch break and Em searches for souvenirs to add to her sticker and patch collection.
Continuing our journey, we ride through a national park, immersing ourselves in the untouched beauty of nature. The winding roads, lined with lush greenery, offer a sense of serenity and tranquillity that is hard to find anywhere else.
Finally, our adventure leads us to Bodo, a charming town located on the Norwegian coast where we will catch the Ferry to the Loften islands -renowned for being the one of the best places to visit in Norway.
If you are planning a motorcycle tour, looking for motorcycle packing tips or simply want to sit back and enjoy the ride this video is for you.

Bond of Love between Sean and Emily must be forever.
I m happy to see you both from Pakistan
Thanks very much! It sure is 😊
The coastal road between Mo i rana and Bodö is also really beautiful with the glacier Svartisen and the fjords, but it takes more time.
absolutely...
Yeah we looked at that but as you say takes a lot more time, we will just have to come back again =) There's so much to see in Norway that it's impossible to see everything.
Thanks for the tips -keep them coming =)
Sean and Emily
Just before Bodö you past the Saltstraumen bridge. The Saultstrum is the worlds strongest maelstrom. Well worth a visit.
Hi Mat, thanks for the info, just googled it….that looks awesome -shame we missed it! Just another excuse to come back again 😊.
Thanks for watching and we hope you are enjoying the series.
All the best
Sean and Emily
I actually saw you passing it in the video 😊 It was the first bridge you drove over on the 812...
I love the LotR reference at 7:52! "They have a cave troll..."
I recently found your videos, and I must say that at least Sean is somewhat of a fantasy nerd 😂
Haha Well spotted David!! -full points for attentive listening! I'm sure there are a few other references in this series too 😂
Happy to have you along for the journey!
Cheers
Sean and Emily
Even more awesomeness! Thanks guys.
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the episode!
Spent a couple months in Bodo during a NATO military exercise in Jan/Feb of 2022. Really enjoyed the area and people in the area.
That’s cool you got to spend some real time there to experience day to day life. We really liked the people in Norway too 😊
Great episode! Looking forward to the next installment! Excellent footage, commentary, music, editing and you are a lovely couple!
Hi Matt, thanks do much for your encouraging comment and kind words! -It's really appreciated. Next instalment is out tonight as we take the ferry to the Lofoten islands.
Sean and Emily
@@SeanandEmily Excellent, it just popped up, watching it now! See you in the next one!
Yes, it is a beautifull road and nature. Drove the same route last august. Weather was not that beautiful, lot of wind
Hi, Yeah it's such a relaxing ride with beautiful scenery! So you were only a month or so ahead of us we did this mid September. We were lucky with the weather but it was really windy! -the drone was struggling to stay straight. Thanks for watching and we appreciate your comment.
Sean and Emily
Dreamland, pure and simple!! (As usual top notch editing/filming). Btw that Thai food looked delicious.
Hi David, It sure is!😊 Thanks very much -much appreciated! Oh yeah it was delicious -a welcome find and just what we needed before getting the ferry to the Loften Islands.
Thanks again
Sean and Emily
Another top class video!…editing and content superb. Thanks so much ….love it.
Hi, Thanks very much! Great to hear you enjoyed it! We really liked making this one =)
Next one is out tonight as we catch the ferry to the Lofoten islands.
Thanks again
Sean and Emily
Amazing video, and absolutely stunning views! Also I love Sean's LOTR reference @7:55 lol
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻thank you for noticing! It was the most discrete LOTR reference 😁
Glad you enjoyed the video and we hope you like the Heading North Playlist 😎🙌🏻
Amazing beauty of Nature !
Yes the nature in Norway was spectacular!! Thanks for watching =)
At least not in the video was there any sign of that you noticed Saltstraumen (around 29 km before Bodø) .....which happen to be the world's strongest whirlpools due to the tidal differences. At 20:15 you crossed the bridge over Saltstraumen.
To be honest we didn't know it was a 'thing', we are glad you mentioned it actually as we did briefly see some strange currents -just thought it was the tidal waves lol.
We will definitely be sure to stop there next time and have a proper look!
Thanks for the Tip!
Sean and Emily
@@SeanandEmily the water reaches a max speed of about 20knot or 37km/h under the bridge.... 10m wide and 4-5m deep whirlpools with 400 million m3 of water going back and forth every 6 hours......
Yes you just went over the bridge at Saltstraumen without know what it was. One of the strongest tide wave current in the world. In a boat you need more than 20 knots to go forward or you will go backwards instead. 🤣👍
Again awesome; daydreaming for us as vieuwers
Hi, it was such a great day in the road! Blue skies always make for a dreamy ride. Thanks for watching - New episode tomorrow 😊 S&E
Hello.
Good morning and have a nice day.
Minosegu video was made.
You had a good time here!
I was there around then too!
It was 2 degrees here and it was raining or snowing! 😅😢
Hi, thanks very much! We really had a the best time on this tour , it was such a great trip. Maybe we saw each other or you are in some of the other videos (we have had a few people comment that they are in the video!)
We hope you had a great time too!!
Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the rest of the series
Thanks for the great video!
Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching Wim!
Love your videos, and I bet Emilys joints stiffens up in sunshine. Hope you are lucky with the weather. Cheers 😊
Haha -why do you think she had a tinted visor 😁. Thanks very much, really happy to hear you are still enjoying the videos!
Was great to have some nice weather!
Cheers
Sean and Emily
Another amazing video, guys! I understand I need to do a trip on my own in my own country 🙂 I guess I need to saddle up my 850 GSA and do a tour of Norway myself! Thanks again! Looking forward to the next one!
Hi, yeah you should definitely do that! 850 GSA will be perfect! It's always the way though that we don't get around to seeing our home countries, it would be amazing having Norway on your doorstep!
Thanks again
Sean and Emily
No, Emily , hope you don't get to see a polar bear in the wild . They see you long before you see them:) You guys really have got my roaming spirit up and going again. I was at Svalbard back in the 90's, it feels kinda unreal. All those creature comforts so close to, well, nothingness.
Haha good point! okay update: i hope to see them one day form the safety of an artic ice breaker cruise ship =)
That's great the videos make you want to explore, they make us want to get going again as soon as possible too!
Svalbard must have been a special place too, it's a destination we really would like to go to -so many places it's hard to choose =)
Thanks for your comment and it's great to hear form you!
Kind regards
Sean and Emily

Thanks for taking us on this ride! It is realy nice ❤!
We're wondering how you are managing your sound! Do you have different mic's for on and off the bike? And how do you record the sound?
Hi and thanks. We are using wireless mics and we use them on and off the bike 😎👍
@@SeanandEmily Thanks for the response. Are they wireless connected to the gopro or another recording device?
Yes, connected to the GoPro 👍🏻
Are you coming back through Finland, Baltic States and Poland? 🏍👍
Yes that's correct, Finland - Estonia - Latvia - Lithuania- Poland - Czech - Slovakia - Austria.
Great trip , Leon Ochieng big fan from 🇰🇪 Kenya
Thank you Leon!
Each episode is better than the last! Doesn’t the sunshine make a huge difference on a bike. Em is now officially a tourist having bought that naff sticker. Don’t let her put it on Shadow! 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 Em here! It didn’t look too bad hidden behind some other stickers in the top box I swear Thanks for watching 😆
Left field comment. Your helmets, are they the carbon versions and is there any resonating from the peak at motorway speeds?
I had an Arai tours 3 a few years ago and had to remove the leak it was so bad.
Loving the content.
Keep it up.
Hi Paul, yes that's right they are the carbon version so nice and light. For sure a peaked adventure helmet is not ideal for prolonged motorway usage however i find these pretty good, the peak doesn't catch the wind too much as long as the chin is in the correct position and the windscreen is up all the way. We ride with ear plugs on the highway so don't tend to notice any noise.
We will be adding some reviews of our riding equipment over the next few months to our website in case that is of interest to you. =)
We are really glad you are liking the content and thanks for commenting.
Kind regards

@@SeanandEmily yes, very interested in a review of the Helmets and coms too👍
Are you still on the tour?
The weather is really good for October if you are.
Ride safe.
Hi Paul. No we finished this trip beginning of October -but we were still lucky with the weather (most of the time lol)
Thanks
Sean and Emily
Are you guys actually riding in Norway in October? Is this in real time or did you tape this last month? I expect it to be cold and snowy there soon. Glad that you found some sunshine. Warm travels to you!
I wanted to know this too! I was expecting it would be full of snow!
@@johns2028 They did mention that it was August when they did the ride. I spoke too soon.
Yeah running a few weeks behind, We got to the Artic circle Early/mid September -it was starting to get cold but the sun was shining so that's all we could ask for =)
Sean and Emily
Cool! What dates are these recordings from? :) the end of the summer this year was very nice in Norway.
Hi, we were in Norway in September, yes the weather was really great. A few days of rain overall but a lot quieter on the roads than the summer months. Thanks for watching. S&E
😎💙👍
Thanks, hope you are enjoying the series 😎

Thank you Ahmed!
@@SeanandEmily 🤍🤍🤍❤️❤️❤️
A cool place.
I was there with my GSA in 2017 and didn’t buy”the big pack” of stickers.
One year later i was there with truck and then I bought it 😂🫣
Haha they are too tempting to resist! Better to get them than regret it later =) That would have been a lovely drive with the truck!
@@SeanandEmily It sure was a lovely trip with the truck !
My last place to unload was in Harstad north of Narvik , I had empty colourtanks back to Sweden.
I drove over ”Riksgränsen” down to Luleå and the E4 all the way south to Trelleborg.
Wow that's a big drive, but it must have been spectacular! You must have seen some amazing sights throughout your drives!
=)
@@SeanandEmily Yes , e.g I’ve been to Mallorca , Sicily , Sardinia with the truck.
Oh wow! You really get about -well if we ever get lost and need directions we know who to ask =)
Are you ever tempted to throw your bike in the trailer? (if there is any room)
Remember that the actual arctic circle moves north, so the circle is further north than the centre.
Also in future it is moving back.
In 1990, when the Arctic Circle Centre was built to welcome visitors at the Saltfjellet mountain range in Northern Norway, it was believed that the Arctic Circle ran straight through the middle of the building. But since it's constantly moving, its actual location is now further north.
The magnetic pole will go all the way up to the Lofoten islands, before moving south again. It will take about 40,000 years before it's back in the middle of the visitor centre.
Well “we rode 50km south of the Arctic Circle but went to the Artic Circle Centre in Norway” didn’t quite have the same ring to it 😂🤣😂🤣 Thanks for the information guys it’s actually really interesting, glad you are enjoying the videos!
@@SeanandEmily Anyway, you two have now passed the Arctic Circle by a good margin. 😃
@@SeanandEmily To be a bit specific has the Arctic Circle moved a little over 470 meter (or 14,25 meter pr. year) north during the 33 years since the Arctic Circle Centre was build in 1990
do you ever get upset ? :)
Sometimes when hungry 😁
When you reach the Arctic Circle then you are north of Iceland.
Thanks for the information and thanks for watching 😊
Why did you not stop at the worlds strongest tidal current, the Saltstraumen? You just drive over it ??
We did see it -admittedly we didn’t know what we saw at the time 😁 We did 10,000km on this trip -we couldn’t stop at everything, wanted to make sure we got to Bodo on good time as we couldn’t miss that ferry. Other than not stopping at the water we hope you enjoyed the rest of the video.
Sean and Emily
I thought the same. I was waiting for them to be amazed at the massive whirlpools but they just commented on the bridge. Cracking video non the less. July 2024 will be my 15th biking tour of Norway, my first was in 1982 on a Triumph Bonneville all the way up to Nord Kapp when a lot of the E6 was then just a gravel road.
@apriliatuono2056 1982 on a Triumph Bonneville!!!! That must have been one of the best trips ever! You must have some awesome photographs of that. Thanks for watching 😎👍🏻
