  • My final day on The River Tweed in May 2023 and the end of my quest for a Spring Fish. Today brought me to Tweedswood, a fishery that I have long since wanted to return to after my aborted trip this time last year. In this video, I fish both upper and lower beats, get some amazing drone footage from the Ghillie (Phil) and have a great day (mostly).
Hi, my name is Chris and my channel is called Cornish Chris the Fish. I am a Cornishman venturing out beyond the Duchy (of Cornwall) to experience life on the road full time touring in my Caravan Dalleth Arta, fly fishing for Salmon and vlogging my adventures. I am charting my salmon fly fishing adventures and will profile each fishery that I attend. I may even catch a few fish 😀. All views are my own good or bad.
Fishing Set Up: Alot of people like to know my set up and currently I fish with two different set ups depending on conditions and the size of river.

FISHDEE 24 - Hey everyone, along with my friends Russ and Calum we've entered a 24 hour fishing marathon supporting the River Dee Trust. Fishing means many things to many people, such as getting out in the fresh air and into the elements, this has never been more important for our physical and mental health over recent years.
The River Dee Trust is delighted that we have a great group of individuals from all over the U.K who will come together to share an experience of a lifetime and make memories with new people, all while raising funds for the River Dee Trust and our conservation and restoration programmes to protect our iconic Wild Atlantic Salmon on the River Dee in Scotland.
As Team "Relentless Fishers" we are aiming to raise £1500 between us for this very worthy cause and I hope you will consider donation / sponsoring our fund raising efforts - and of course the whole 24 hour event will be covered in my channel.

Keep up the good work Chris, you make super video's and its lovely to see some familiar places whilst being sat at home int he office! I find the viewing very relaxing and it reminds me just how much I enjoy fishing in Scotland. If only there were more fish in the rivers these days!

Arrgghh,!!! Nothing worse than missing a 'take', especially when they are so few and far between. Another great video Chris and can't wait to see that next fish. I totally admire your patience, resilience and dedication. I would have given up ages ago!

I took a tumble at almost exactly the same place a few years back. Stepped down expecting to find purchase, and kept on going. I had a swelbow and a twisted knee for about 3 weeks afterwards. It is a great place to spend a day though, regardless of the catch.

Great video Chris hope the knee is improving- how many rod days is that you’ve had now this year ?

If you focus on really completing the snap by bringing the the rod back into you own bank preceded by a extremely methodical lift it really helps get the the line into a better position for the forward cast, it also helps get the tip up.
It's fairly steady draw on that pool, I think you afford to be a bit more square with your cast to present a better angle to the fish.
It can be small things lime that, I have bad knee myself I aways use knee supports today I don't know if you do but the buggers tend to let you down the knee support seems to stopped thag happening

It's a different fishery on the other bank unfortunately but you are quite right ✅

Hope your knee is on the mend now. Can be very frustrating when they pluck at the fly then let go.

You say "good value" but it's really not, thus no fish. Go to the lower river in the summer .................

Cheers Colin, i didn't think £50 was too bad, I am just planning my next trip so maybe lower down will be better, any suggestions?

@@colinmcdougal6233the price of those beats you mention is beyond the common man in most cases hendersyde between 350 and 700 a day and you have to take 3 days to get maybe 2 fish if your lucky
