      Depends on how cold the temperature of the oil is. Below the flash point of the oil, it does not pose a hazard, since no explosive air-vapour mixture is formed with air. You can even put out oil fires with cold oil.

    Oh yes, you can't imagine how fun it is to throw the most elite of your units to a single dude with a sword and shield and then just see him 1v3 them, ending with more health than he started the fight with
    Truly the competitive experience of all times

    I think siggy is known for being hard to kill, casually existing on the field of battle more concerned with his own pride and vanity. But in a game like TW he should be probably be a bit less immortal.

      Eh, most chaos legendary lords are known for having alright armies, but incredibly strong lords/heroes. Take that away and it becomes a struggle, especially in the early game.

      He's an ageless champion of a dark god, i would expect him to come out ahead. The biggest problem is probably that he's way too cheap in multiplayer. He costs half as much as lords that he would handily beat (i think he's like a full 800 cheaper than zhatan, whom he destroyed while being surrounded by great weapon elites)

      I think lords across the board should be nerfed unless they are giant monsters or on mounts, I understand foot lords should be decent and have utility but in lore not many including Sigvald would walk out of a situation like that UNSCATHED.

    That's a pretty cool map mechanic. Hopefully, CA implicates something similar for the rest of the factions. As for the fight itself, it was really funny to see Sigvald just Chad walk his way through all of those elite units and decapitate your lord.

      I love the animation detail of that cannon ball bouncing and dragging it's way through the ground. Feels very realistic and is interesting just to watch, and try to judge who it will hit. There are a few artillery units whose ammunition I wish acted like that.

    Tbf, Sigvald is damn near impossible to hit in the lore. He would be dancing around so fast that no blade would even come close to touching him. Slaanesh loves him that much.

      for sure. it is mostly his melee defense that saved him and that's cause the chorfs, while packing really good stats for a grind it out fight, still have a lot more defense than attack. even attacks in the rear will have a hard time touching siggy. Rear is half MD on single entities, right? They just have to get something with a bit more MA, or debuff his MD, which chorfs can do readily.

    I think it's actually accurate to have sigvald just wading throughout a battle with little worry of being slain. However in the concept of TW, he shouldn't be able to just wade through anti-armor units completely solo.

    I LOVE that the colour scheme changes significantly based on faction. A problem that all game 3 factions have is that the faction colours only change a very small part of their unit design, eg jade warriors are all primarily green regardless of who you play. Glad to see this rectified with the Chorfs

      Well the armour value is more representative of how well the armour covers your body so I’d imagine a massive body like that one would need a lot more armour

      Most of its soft bits are open.
      Kinda like how a train has less Armor than an ironsworn.
      Because all the meat of an ironsworn is inside metal.
      Whereas the squishy loaders and drivers of the train are accessible.
      I can't just pile a ton of Armor on my back and expect to be as well protected as someone with half my Armor but covered himself properly.

      if your weapons are not magically protected they should just melt when shooting/hacking at the soft bits...

      @@darthplagueis13 not that much, but key centerpiece units whcih with proper focus fire can be dealt with resistance or no given the ap and missile damage Chorfs have. also that is what all the weakness to fire debuffs are for, the chorfs have quite a lot of them.

      20% from ash storm, 20% from the flammable debuff, there's also a 40% on the blood flask but is a single use so idk

    I think a good nerf to sigvald, particularly in multiplayer is to reduce his healing cap. Specific nerf just to himself is lower heal cap. So damage to him feels more impactful, instead of him essentiallyhaving what feels like a pocket second health bar.

    As far as sigvald goes...
    He is just janky.
    Where units who statistically SHOULD hurt him don't because he falls down or gets pushed out of their attack animations.
    It's not as much as him being super powerful but the game having a stroke with single entity foot lords.
    Which I guess a dueling mechanic would fix.
    With "unit stability optimisations" preventing them from moving and falling so much when surrounded.

    On TT the LLs and heroes can indeed survive well, Indy. They just don't really have the damage output they have in TWW. Though hard to kill, they arent the lawmowers they are in this game, though there are some exceptions (Kholek, Imrick on a dragon, Skarbrand, Archaon, anyone who name ends with "of Khorne" or wears the color scheme thereof....But mostly they can take out a couple of models every other round at best). This is because they are limited by B2B (base to base) contact. Which isnt alot.

      "surviving well" isn't really the same thing as "running into AP Infernal Guard and a duelist lord and then a K'daai Destroyer solo and taking no damage". I'm for sure no expert on tabletop, but characters like Sigvald were generally put into formations of infantry for protection correct? I feel fairly confident in saying running most lords into solo combat in a situation like this on TT would result in death, or at least a LOT of damage the vast majority of the time

      aren't Ushapti like a whole tier lower in campaign and also like half the price of the K'dai in multiplayer?
      they seem just fine. I love playing Thorek in singleplayer and allying with Khalida so that I can have a few Ushapti supporting my dwarves by providing fast mass support

    In tabletop the most models that could be in base to base contact with Sigvald is 3, against most infantry he can easily kill 3+ models a turn meaning his opponents can't hit him back, even if they do his saves are high enough that he will only take damage if you are unlucky on your dice rolls. The way most infantry units dealt with Legendary Lords was to hope they whiffed their attacks, and that you got some damage through and have enough rank and other bonuses that you could force him to break from a failed leadership test and run him down. So even in tabletop a legendary foot lord could last an entire game in combat against good infantry. Just like in TWWH the best way to deal with these sorts of lords is feed them one or two chaff units while you deal with the rest of the army.

    My experience on the tabletop with sigvald was when I spectated an AoS game. I saw sigvald beautifully painted, the game started and sigvald charges in backed by hellstriders I went looked away to grab a beer from the cooler. When I looked back, sigvald was already dead.

    For a giant monster made of metal and lava, 90 armor seems a little low on the Destroyer. I guess physical resistance is supposed to make up the rest of that? Also, I hope the home field advantage style stuff either becomes MUCH more widely available for other races or is kept to just a handful of maps, unless this is meant to be a way to test the Dawi Zharr with and without them to see if it should be implemented as a universal army ability like the WAAAGH for Greenskins.

      I think considering how little of the destroyers body is actually covered by armor 90 is fine since it has phys resist to convey the fact that even though it has a lot of exposed body his body is a blazing fire elemental lol

    On the table Sigvald is pretty hard to kill, he had a decent save so that rending (armour penetrating) attacks help a lot, but he will just flat out ignore half the damage you put through.
    He might not tank whole armies but he's pretty durable, really annoying if the player using him spikes those rolls to ignore damage.

    Well, regarding your comments on the stats of tabletop vs Total War balance, I do have to agree that Lords and Heroes should not be that survivable. In terms of wounds, they're low as fuck on wounds. The best use of a Lord or Hero on tabletop was in sniping other lords and heroes, and in using their leadership to buff units that they were attached to or nearby to.
    Further, because of how the ranks system worked, their survivability greatly increased when embedded in a unit. You couldn't take them out unless you challenged them directly with a command group's champion or with another lord/hero. What I wouldn't give to see an ability to embed your lords and heroes within a unit for extra survivability.

      That's kind of the difference. In the table top, you couldn't just have a griffin crash into the middle of the Immortulz and just throw him around like a rubber ball until he died, which happened pretty much all the time towards the end of TWW1.
      Foot lords are super roided up because otherwise they would be a free kill for the enemy monsters.

      @@darthplagueis13 at that point, why not ride them up with other stats besides their health? Damage output, melee defence and attack, armour? Keep their mass high as well to anchor them more effectively to the ground.
      Sigvald shouldn't be tanking three full units on a surround except in pure skill.

      @@NagandEmerald Well, lorewise Sigvald absolutely should. That's kind of his thing.
      That aside, he really doesn't have that much health, only about 5k on ultra which is something many units can shred through within like a minute. The thing that can keep him in combat for so long is that he has really bloody good defensive stats as well as innate health recovery as well as perfect vigour which means he doesn't get tired and his stats don't go down.
      Sigvald just has a perfect synergy of unique abilities and stats and general benefits that are just about enough to keep foot characters from being free kills.

    Don't Ap infernal guard have pretty low attack for an elite infantry? They have 32 MA that is like sending halberd infantry after sigvald (60 MD) and expecting them to kill him. They have less MA than blackguard at 36 for example.
    CD don't seem to have any good high damage Ap melee infantry on the level of hammerers.
    Most of their anti inf Ap seems to be on monstrous units instead.

      The 10% physical resistance is the bigger problem (and I believe the reason their armor is a bit lower.) For such a big model, they're just going to eat AP damage from a TON of models and die really, really quickly. I assume you might be able to buff the heck out of them with smiths, which is probably the only way to use them properly. This thing looks like a hellpit abomination with way better animations, but no regen and no way to get like 45% phys resistance as they can in the throt campaign.
      And in MP? Probably trashy for the cost, hell, the fireborn seem to be way more effective for their gold cost at chewing through infantry.

    I feel like foot lords should be hard countered by elite infantry. They get extra tanky from projectiles with their tiny hitbox(and usually big shields) while being tanky(ish) from monsters because of the knockdown invincibility. I feel like walking your foot lord into a block of elite infantry should be near instant death. I dont know how you would implement that without making them bad duelists(aka lowering melee defence). But maybe we could see something like a huge backstab multiplier for foot lords, so when surrounded they just get chunked.

    There are ways to beat Sigvald, but you have to ignore him the whole match and throw fodder at him. Sending a lord him is asking to lose unless it’s someone like Tyrion or Skarbrand, who have fire dmg to cut his healing in half. If you kept him tied down with orc slaves and used your good infantry + lord on priority targets, not only doi think you would have won, it would have been a stomp in your favor.

      yeah of course Sigvald can be beaten, and you're right that throwing chaff his way is the ideal scenario. given the situation I used what i had in position to tie him down and protect Zhatan and my Daemonsmith. my point is Infernal Guard GW and Zhatan together (especially with Destroyer coming over and getting some attacks in too) should be enough to beat him, or at least hurt him badly. I had my K'daai units dealing with the priority targets, they killed all the Chaos Warriors and the Dragon ogres too

    I think a way to balance lords from a modding perspective is to increase the minimum hit chance. I tried increasing it from the base 8% to 20%, and though you may think that would decrease the time to kill to half I strangely found it to be more like one forth

    lorewise Sigvald is arguably the best duellist in the setting. Without magical weapons I don't see how any moral arms could harm him through his kit of magical arms and armour not to mention his chaos blessings and personal skill.

    It is nice to see that Chaos Dwarfs are not OP out of the gate but your tactics could have been a bit better. Please don't get me wrong I like the video. Tactics just will always win 9 times out of 10. I didn't notices until the end that you were way out numbered.

    so that gun ability is 100% cooldown rather than uses, that's fun but i can already see in campaign the "one unit running around, probably a train while the enemy dies one cannon at a time"

      i dont think trains are fast enough to pull that off, theyre only like 60 speed. a leveled up bull centaur hero with a speed boost perk could probably pull it off tho. bale taurus *maybe* it depends on how fast they are on foot but i cant imagine theyd run very fast and bc of the leadership debuff from only having units in the air it cant just fly around. Chaos Dwarf mobility is slow but tough, like the dwarfs themselves. More likely the abuse would be through getting a single entity to the point of being borderline unkillable and just parking it in the middle of the enemy army and letting them blob up before dropping salvo after salvo and spell after spell.

    If he gets nerfed because of pvp I'm going to be mad. I hate that pvp nerfs effect the campaign. Tomb kings for example were already weak on the battlefield but because of pvp they got nerfed even more

    Sigvald is quite ridiculous. Its healing needs to be toned down. Makes him impossible to kill. Had him surrounded with Longbeards while Gombrindal with fighting him. He kille Grombrindal and the longbeards alone with basically full HP.

    putting the K'daai Destroyer and Fireborn together seems to be a problem, the Destroyer is often blocked pathing wise by the Fireborn so it wasted a lot of time just either standing or trying to move around the Fireborn models instead of attacking. I assume this would be a problem with other large monstrous infantry as well but yeah, maybe it's more optimal to have the Destroyer be escorted by regular infantry? so the Destroyer can choose to move ahead and charge to it's content instead of trying to navigate around your own models.

    On the other hand, if even the tankiest low damage, low speed footlords got destroyed by a single unit of great weapon infantry then what exactly would the point be of tanky low damage, low speed footlords? Sigvald is a legendary annoyance, not a weapon of mass destruction but a pimple on the nose that just will not go away. That's his one and only thing. Same with Gor-Rok and such. Sticking around and not dying is their thing.

These kind of characters shouldn't just be wading into an army completely on their own and killing everything in their path. *Or* at the very least, he should have a price tag that justifies that.

      @@cyrwynelius8221 That's the thing with lords like Sigvald and Gor-Rok. The don't really deal a whole lot of damage and they can't really pick and choose their engagements. They're literally just nose-pimples that refuse to go away. If they can't even do that then what can they do?
      Sure, Sigvald in full gear is presently very sticky but what good is his amazing stats and regen and whatnot if all he's fighting is chaff that he has no shortcut to get rid of?
      Engaging Sigvald with elite infantry is not the right play. He's a duelist and a tank, not a chaff blender.

    Having one of the Kdaai take out Sigvald earlier might have been a good idea. 20 bonus vs infantry and fire damage may have wrecked him.

      definitely possible they would have performed better. my fear was they would just constantly knock him around, and not deal damage while he was on the floor. they were doing a very good job of mulching enemy infantry

    100% Sigvald could and has waded through enemy forces in great size! I mean, he literally took on a dragon solo and won...
    Slaneesh boosted the heck out of Sigvald. I feel comfortable saying that Sigvald could probably defeat a small size army on his own if he cared enough to do so, lorewise that is. He is uoer fast, super strong, and super skilled with the blade. His real only weakness is his vanity and ego. Therefore, he is EASILY distracted.

    Love the coloring. Love the look of all Cwarf units. Hate the map ability for MP if thats their mechanic then just let them have it. Making it map specifc is going to be an unholy nightmare balance wise more on the side of whats fair and not just depending on the map pool and ban choices. Hate that Sig has been this way for so long. Really hope you outline and hightlight this as somthing that could be easily be fixed. dropping his regen down a slight bit would be all he needs.

      none of the Chaos Dwarf maps are competitively viable anyway, they're not going to get played in tournaments. and the gun ability is op, its a 60 second cooldown unlimited uses, so really just there for flavor and fun
