    Here is my "retro" trailer for what a early 1990's Justice League could have looked like. Imagine this happened! Would have been incredible to go look back on today. I didn't go the "World's Finest" route because I've seen lots of great fan made trailers and concepts for that already so I figured why not just go full Justice League! Anyway, made to look old and retro on purpose (both audio and visually). I hope you enjoy it! Please comment like and share!

      @shaggy72 4 года назад +20

      Looks awesome. But 2 factors would've kept this from becoming a reality.
      Back in the 90s it was a whole different vibe in Hollywood with actors:
      those movies could only afford just TWO of those A-list actors. And just one of their asking price would've been 25% of the entire budget.
      Other than the money, you have actor egos. They wouldn't want to share the spotlight, period. And if they do, one of them would inevitably tried to take creative control over it all or walk. Each of them would be focused on making their own character the best in the group & not look weak. (there were accounts of some a-list stars who would hold up production simply to COUNT the number of lines a co-star had & then demand an immediate re-write so he/she would have just as many lines).
      I believe Stallone's The Expendables changed everything. Regardless if ya like that movie or not, it was a milestone in Hollywood history. Having all those A-list stars team up was UNHEARD OF & impossible to negotiate just 10 years earlier.
      But (the impossible obstacles of) egos & money aside, yeah, this would have kicked ass! AND, this would've been years before the whole start-to-finish-non-stop action packed spectacles we have now. There would've been like FIVE H-U-G-E action set-pieces in between some slowed down moments for major character development, romance & surprising thoughtful plot points with a couple twists. And of course, the VILLAINS would've taken center stage & gotten more screen time as producers always did in those days & the heroes would've been slightly side-lined in comparison.
      I know all that is unthinkable in modern cinema , but it was a much different era back then.
      Alas, if i'd seen this trailer, i'd been "TAKE MY MONEY!!"... for the first of FOUR TIMES i'm sure. :)

    What really pisses me off is that there were so many successful DC films decades before the MCU, and Warner Studios did not have the vision to make a Justice League movie until after the success of the Avengers. Then they tried to play catch up and tried to copy Marvel’s formula with disastrous results when they used to be the leader in the superhero franchise.
    Fans would’ve gone absolute NUTS for a movie like this in the 1990’s.

The problem is that decisions are made by short sighted businessmen who are only looking to make a quick buck; remember the fiasco, “Batman and Robin” from 1997? Clear example of a bunch of people with no love for the source material trying to cash in on a successful franchise.

    • @CoryTheRaven
      @CoryTheRaven 3 года назад +14

      Keep in mind that the success of these movies never synced up at the same time. Superman was released in 1978 and Superman II in 1980. The last Reeve Superman movie was Superman IV, which was released in 1987 and was a critical and commercial flop. Batman was 1989, Batman Returns in 1992, and then the series started dropping off towards the failure of Batman and Robin. Batman Begins was a soft reboot in 2005 that became a full reboot with The Dark Knight. The Wonder Woman series ran from 1975-79. The Flash series ran 1990-91. They would have had to have been VERY lucky to have done a successful Superman/Batman crossover movie in the 1990's (before Reeve was paralyzed in 1995), and while they might have gotten The Flash in it, getting Wonder Woman would have been unlikely. In the 90's they were talking about letting Tim Burton reboot Superman, because the franchise had been so driven into the ground by Supermans III and IV.

I'll say that I was genuinely surprised at how great Ben Affleck is as Batman, and as much as it's a tiny aspect of the mythos in the grand scheme of things; Jeremy Irons is the best Alfred yet committed to film. But I have very little hope that Zack Snyder has somehow completely turned his entire filmmaking style around to make JL a good film.

    This was truly great. Powerful and memorable, I wish this could somehow exist in full. So many great eras coming together.

    AListProductions- It's really too bad that we didn't see a 'Justice League' movie like what this fan-made movie trailer of yours showed us, for example...
    Excellent work!...

    God, that was amazing. The Supergirl at the end was a great 'sneak peak'.

    Imagine how legendary this would have been if they actually made the film with these versions of the characters. The best Superman, the best Batman, the best Joker. The best supergir- actually.. maybe not that one.
    Point being, this would have made an awesome Justice League movie.

      She probably would have been a good Supergirl if she'd had a halfway decent script.

      The Multiverse that got this didn't get the Snyder Cut.... :P - But seriously, I wish!

    The “after credits” bit with Supergirl was perfect! I really would have liked to have seen this movie!
