Is the film set in a multiverse where Rob is playing Thomas Wayne, not Bruce Wayne? Are the Riddler and Bruce Wayne related? How often does Rob lurk on fan theory forums on Reddit? Paul going "bro read that comic" makes me so proud. just seeing actors geeking out to the source material they originally (presumably) weren't into before they take the roles is soo wholesome and fun
NERD!
That's definitely a change i've noticed over the years. Back in like the Tobey McGuire Spiderman era. The actor usually would only read the comic the movie was specifically based on. The research was fairly surface level. He still did a great job and actors can still do a great job in these roles with minimal research (some would actually refuse to read the comics so they could really do their own take), but it's so amazing to see present day actors really DIVE IN head first into the deep end of the comics. Actors always talk about having meaty roles to really sink their teeth into and i'm glad they finally realize the last decade or so that comic book lore is a big fat juicy steak. The versions of the characters they can bring to the screen when they really dig in like that result in a more nuanced take on the characters, as everyone in this cast has shown.

Another theory I had: what if the Riddlers father was the reporter that Thomas Wayne had killed off by accident? This would explain why the Riddler hates corrupt politicians so much and also why he is an orphan
That’s what I was thinking during my watch of the movie. They never said anything to the contrary so until I see otherwise, this is my head canon
@@PillowMane Isn't the reporter's son Thomas Elliot, aka Hush, rather than Edward Nashton? I think if they wanted the reporter to be the Riddler's father, they'd have made it explicit. In this case, I think it's better to take Riddler at his word for his motivations.

As much as I loved all the batman movies, Robert Pattison really put his heart into this and nalied his role as the Batman. Yes. He is the Batman. Simple as that. Rest easy now Batfleck.
Affleck was the worst, Pattinson is way better. I still think Bale is the best but Pattinson has the potential to be better I just wanna see the Bruce Wayne side of the character grow more. I get he’s all emo cuz of his trauma but I feel he’d be the top suspect for being Batman with the eyeshadow stains and acting the same as Batman when he’s not in the suit while he’s this famous billionaire.
Ben affleck was a awful Batman. Christian bale was good but Robert Pattinson is without a doubt the best onscreen Batman we’ve ever gotten.
I agree, but I think the script for The Batman let him down.
I had my doubts about Pattison because I will always correlate him to that awful vampire movie but I reminded myself we had Afleck as Batman for many years and there couldn’t possibly be anything worse than that. After seeing the movie, I am glad I gave Pattison’s rendition a try. I still think he is quite cringe for that twilight role but he did a great job showing the angst side of Batman and not the playboy douchebag side that we always see on screen.

Rob is the best Batman. Period.
What makes it better is how much he knows about the character, which shows in his very comic-accurate portrayal.
Also, Paul Dano is also very knowledgeable about his own, and other, character(s). It really shows his passion for the role, which is why it was so good. He is also writing a comic book about Riddler in his early years, so I’m thrilled.
The fact that Rob really reads all of our comments on all Internet platforms is actually embarrassing, since so many people mocked his casting (not me, I've known that he was a phenomenal actor for years, and Lighthouse was amazing) and even lashed out at him. Yikes.
Then again, Rob must have the biggest grin right now, because even his last doubters have been silenced and are eating crow. Touché, Rob.
Great batman, bad movie.
@@thejquinn it's not everyone's cup of tea, but opinions should somewhat be respected
I think he did a great job, but didn’t like the film’s pacing.
Yeah the film could have been literal 10/10 and was 10/10 for the first 2/3rd. Just needed tighter pacing and bit shorter third act
Paul Dano's Riddler might possibly end up being one of my top 5 favourite comic villain portrayals in a film. So excited and I hope this gets him more exposure because he's an amazing actor.
1. Heath's Joker
2. Dafoe's Goblin
@@queenb2450 3. Alfred Molina as Doc Ock
4. Joaquin Phoenix as Joker
5. Paul Dano as Riddler
6. Jamie Foxx as Electro
Heath Ledger and Paul Dano performances is one of the reason why batman movies are the best of superhero movies
@@the_pheoniks What about Josh Brolin as Thanos, Daniel Bruhl as Zemo, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Michael Keaton as Vulture ?
@@shyguy5473 they didn't have that much impact on me as them .
Paul is much taller than I thought he would be (just as tall or taller than Robert). After seeing The Batman I figured Robert was a really tall dude.
I love that they're actual fans of the comic book and find enjoyment and theorizing what could potentially be in this Batman universe just as much as we do.
I like that Jeffrey Wright(the Watcher himself) is like "oh well you know it could be an alternate universe" I see you Jeff lol
Robert looks like someone who lives in 2000s.
the fact every actor loved their roles and grew up as fans of Batman. It just makes it that much more special.
Jeffrey Wright commenting on the first one "It would be in a separate alternate universe" was a cool nod to his What If? role. It's weird hearing him say "alternate universe" in a DC context
They could have easily turned their noses up at some of these fan theories, but fair play to Paul, Zoë, Robert and Jeffrey for getting stuck into them.
I love that Paul sounds like a true Batman fan. He’s clearly gets into some nerdy stuff.
Rob and Paul knowing about the telltale series really speaks about how well they know the character
If you like Dano's pitch at 1:18 for a Bruce/Thomas team-up, it's already happened in comics. Story is called "The Button"
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT HOW ROB PRONOUNCED 'TxC' 🤣🤣 3:12 you're welcome
8:06 Nah, Hy was so on point that Zoe couldn't hold back her shock lmfaooo.
Man, I'm literally at the edge of my seat. I NEED to see more of Reeves' Batverse, god im enthralled. Wishful thinking but man, hopefully the Penguin HBO Max series drops the end of this year as its been in production since 2020.
I just love when actors know are interested and know a lot of their character’s lore, it really makes their interviews more interesting than other superhero actors interviews
Paul pitching his multiverse crossover storyline is great
I love this cast. They genuinely have a close chemistry vibe to them all and it's so awesome.
I feel like Robert's accent is back to its original thickness, maybe because he had time to be back and stay in London for a long period of times during the pandemic. Or is it just me?
And he nailed the batman voice. Never doubted him cause his accent game always been phenomenal imo, I mean the lighthouse, good time, the king..
and the way he said TxC here was so cute.
@@quidproque76 yeah I think he lived with Suki now in London especially back in lockdown.
Rob is a national treasure. Legit good actor that needs more recognition.
5:40 so they DID make a scooby doo joke!
4:40 Rob admitting he not only lurks in fansites but also responds to them 😂
It's like Henry Cavill. When you have true fans of the source material working on the project, the project will tend to succeed.
@@JustAnotherAlex oh yea 😂
