As a person looking to buy my first action camera for fun recording of some recreational activities it seems that this small, light, lower cost option is a good choice. If I was a professional photographer or content creator who understood full video editing stuff I might be able to use most of the features of a hero 13 pro or osmo action 5.
Weighing the pros and cons of the Hero 11 mini vs the Hero 2024. I had the Session 5 before and liked the size and didn't mind no view screen. Another reviewer stated the lack of video resolutions on the new Hero 2024 and offloading the image stabilization to the Quik app. Waiting to see if a reviewer will post side to side video between the two cameras.
I use my session 5 yet, I really like the size of it and I dont mind the lack of the screen. I'm thinking to get this new tiny one, but I'm not sure about how the stabilization works, as they say it work IN Quik app... I mean, do we have to pay for this feat? because Quik app always try to sell you something.
3:25 how does it work when you say stabilization IN Quik app? do I have to pay the GoPro cloud service to unlock it? because Quick is not free for the coolest feats.
This is perfect because its small and simple like my favorite gopro ever, the session, and they put a screen on the back and sd card slot on this model. Perfection 👌.
I'm torn between this and grabbing the 11 mini which is now the same price for way better video quality and features. The 11 mini doesn't put me off with the lack of a screen, I've had enough patience with the runcam thumb pro using QR codes and no app to view presets. What catches my eye is the amount of reported problems in the past with the 11 mini. I can't find anything that confirms that these battery & freeze up issues got solved with firmware updates or hardware revisions over the years. Thoughts?
That’s a tough one man. I actually really like the 11 mini. It is $50 more so if you don’t mind going up I’d say get that. The HERO 4K I’d say is a good entry-level and you can’t beat that price. But… the 11 mini has that taller 8:7 sensor. If you have the budget I recommend the 11 mini.
@@rogerseng thanks man. I have a sweet deal here in the UK. Same price @ £199.00. I was just worried about all the horror stories over the 11 mini from late 2022 to early 2023.
I'll gladly wait until the European Parliament forces them to bring out a version with removable battery, too. Making technology single use in that way is just completely ridiculous and should've been banned all along
Well if you want removable battery then get a Hero 13. Having a removable battery means extra size and extra weight. For some thats a dealbraker. I can see myself using a Hero on my FPV drone but Hero13 is just too heavy. Would be great if they would skip the screen aswell.
@@rehepeks thanks for your pov on this matter, I totally understand your argument :) yet I think my point I’m trying to make still is valid - regulation comes with stagnation or even a step back for product design in the short run. In the long run however it forces manufacturers to innovate and find solutions and history shows that this works. In case of this go pro for example I’m thinking of further developing promising and more efficient technologies (which exist) and finding a new physical shape for the camera that enables a compartment for a replaceable Battery without the product becoming significantly bigger in volume or heavier. The point is: if the market is regulating itself, it becomes greedy and lazy - much to the disadvantage of customers and the environment. There is another way, it just needs to be enforced by law.
Actually not. Not associated with GoPro at all. If you look at the facts on paper of specs and price for the latest cameras this year, the value at $199 is pretty amazing.
Non removable battery and yet "best GoPro"? Bro how am i suppose to shoot continuously without charging battery?? And you think i should add extra 500g power Bank and keep that connected??
I never said that it was the "Best GoPro". If you look at the landscape it's the best for the price. What we're getting at a price point of $199, it's pretty incredible. If you're looking for more advanced features (like I said in the video) I would suggest the GoPro HERO13 Black.
Get the action three it’s 200$ and will out beat many features of this go pro the three and four are pretty similar which made many people sad the 4 was identical and little upgrade from previous generation now the action 5 is ludicrously good probably best camera out right now but almost twice as much as the 3 id recommend the action three , replaceable battery better frame rates audio in my opinion is better and will never overheat on you unlike go pro (unless left in standing sun with no airflow which any device will overheat even my phone has)
footage looks washed out/blurry compared to my GP11 and GP11mini. that's a shame.... only the weight reduction is a winner for me, that's it. Not mounting this on an FPV quad or fixed wing... price is also to low to get it with the GP subscription benefit ($$$ off if member for a year). seems like GP is slowly destroying itself as a company.
Bought this today and returning tomorrow 😡 My $20 TCL Flip3 5mp phone camera almost same still image quality as new junk GoPro Hero 4k. My $50 prepaid Moto g just as good video quality and much better image quality... Go(Pota)To 🥔

Excellent review! What is the fps of this camera and could it be used as a webcam for recording videos at my desk?
Thanks! Yep it’s 4K @ 30 or 25 fps. Not sure about a webcam yet tho. Trying some different things.
Do you need a subscription to GoPro to use the stabilization?
No
Bro external mic used yes or no
Can you use a head mount strap with this?
Yes you can
has anyone figured out how to add a mic to this camera

Yes, it is made with gorilla glass and is also replaceable if it breaks
