In regards to other people complaints rents everywhere in 'western world' is expensive I live near USC and drive daily past vintage one storey warehouses on Broadway, Hill, etc and can see so much potential for housing and to make LA downtown a vibrant living city but no one seems to be building and so much potential and 'adaptive reuse' could be done here. It is so frustrating when you see this and then all the tents & trash lining the sidewalk. Worst thing is the commute just gets worse because you have to stop and get around the melee especially when someone busts a fire hydrant and are doing the daily wash. Quite a sight, pity they can't use them when there is a fire! Thanks for letting me vent!
The exact same thing happened to a RV parked outside our house in our old neighborhood the city never did anything about it and after 3-4 months the rv went up in flames thank god it was just contained to the rv and not someone home/business

True but as a homeowner and travel for work I am paranoid that either my house goes up in flames or someone tries to move in (squatters). The random gang tagging that comes in waves also does not make it any easier to lighten fears.
When I was homeless (not a drug user BTW) - TWICE in completely different places, someone passing my tent tossed a full book of LIT matches at it. And reporting it was pointless since the fire was put out quickly so no firetrucks were called and the cops took a report but that was it. It's not just the homeless who are a danger

unhoused residents, that sounds kinda dumb. is homeless somehow not appropriate anymore. when i was in No Hollywood everyone of those covers you're showing had been broken into. hardly any street lights worked. im gone now, no more living in a lawless place for me
