I live in S.F. (Sunset/20 years) and went to midtown for the first time today in months. I witnessed a smash-and-grab, among other crimes - yes, I called the police (with a plate number and description of the vehicle involved) and they were "ho-hum" about it. Never again - it's a den of thieves, druggies and filth. No wonder property values are plummeting. Those in "charge" should be held accountable for loss of business, and asset values. Edit; My wife and I plan on moving overseas ASAP.
Voters decide.

These women barely speak english , surely it is better than where they came from
When you allow people to sleep on the street or pitch tents anywhere, you are complicit in their suffering and are culpable in their misery. Allowing this serves nobody.
It is so obvious what the solution is but for some reason common sense isn't available in SF. You could clean that up pretty fast but the leaders in the City don't want to do it. Vote them out. By treating the homeless so nice....you are simply complicit in their suffering. Ridiculous
That's right. If you allow this type of behavior, you are complicit in promoting it. I don't think we will ever be rid of homelessness. I wonder if they created specific 'zones' that were specified just for the homeless to camp, how that would turn out.
@@biometal770 This issue is solely caused by far Left and far Right ideology and intransigence. The Left refuse to allow anybody to dismantle these camps or prevent people from sleeping on the streets. Until this is illegal and enforced, no matter how many shelters you build it will still exist and worsen. The Right refuse to allow the necessary funding that takes these people off the streets, gives them medical care and a path to housing.
Many are drug addicted and/or mentally ill. both need treatment. People in these two categories are clearly incapable of taking care of themselves and this needs to be recognized. They are no different from an elderly person with Alsheimer's and we would never leave someone like that to fend for themselves on the street. Camps are dangerous, unsanitary, crime ridden, drug ridden, fire hazards. Protecting these camps just adds to the cruelty and makes life miserable for everybody else.
@@biometal770 That's been tried. People are jerks and it fails every time. I know of one place where it actually works. It has very little to do with politicians and more to do with the people of those communities.
What in the world are you buffoons talking about? They're on the streets because they can't get affordable housing. No mayor anywhere has enough power to address such an issue. When the suburbs were built that was through federal government initiatives to build affordable housing that created the suburbs. We have since privatized home building, in which corporations are building slow and mostly luxury homes.
It’s illegal to sleep in your vehicle on the street, but is legal to pitch a tent on the sidewalk blocking access, defecate, urinate, commit crimes, sell/buy drugs, etc. SMH
Yup same thing in Canada
Yeah, its really fugged up now. 😮
And it's illegal to self defend when these criminals attack you and rob the store too. criminals got more rights than tax paying good citizens. that's democrat for you. so if your still a democrat, you need psychotherapy.

You are full of it..liar!
I have no pity whatsoever for those who live in SF. They continue to vote for the same type of people into office and expect things to get better. THEY VOTED FOR THIS!
I agree with you and they deserve this. People who voted for democrat learned now but it is too late for them because now the system already fixed, the "cheat and voter fraud" become permanently, so no matter they vote for Democrat or not, Democrat party is always win in the states, cities, counties and districts controlled by democrat leaders.

I recently saw a CNN video of a reporter interviewing SFCo homeless people living in tents. One young couple from Fresno, I believe, said they were in SFco because the city offers a lot of support: free food, free needles, as well as other benefits they can’t get back home. They were given a place to stay, but turned it down because she “didn’t like it.” BTW, this was a young, able bodied couple who should be looking for work instead of a handout. Perhaps budget cuts on some services might motivate some of these homeless to make a change. My opinion.
I 100% agree. Most of these people are not interested in working. California has more homeless than any other state. It's not just about the good weather. It's because they are given so much freedom and also supported more than anywhere else. It's a joke for regular people.
Bus tickets back home. Most don't belong there.
That's what happens when you're too obsessed with human rights.
I saw a couple of young people that looked homeless stealing groceries. They both could work and afford to get by. They choose to remain homeless and steal.

I live in san Rafael, and can’t understand the total deteriorating condition in SF. Mayor Breed is doing an absolutely abysmal job. She is completely out of her depth. She’s had several years to actually figure things out and has not dealt with crime, drugs, homelessness and retail loss. Whenever I used to go into SF on the bus it was bustling. Granted, the late mayor Ed Lee had issues as well, but nothing like what has happened since 2017 when he passed away and London Breed took over.
I bet London Breed lives on a nice neighborhood far away from SAN FRANCISCO
Basically the US is completely fucked - it is actually in a worse state than most third world countries now - a president in his eighties in the latter stages of dementia pretty much sums the US up.

One of the problems is the massive budget these cities have and the over inflated salaries the people who are supposed to be fixing the problem have. There’s no incentive for them to fix the problem, it would be a budget cut for them. I live in Portland and it’s the same thing, not as bad a San Francisco but still bad. I never go downtown.
This is chaotic. Imagine paying millions for your condo, pay thousands in taxes and deal with this scene 24/7.

Yes, the city can be sued. I live in Portland, OR and they have sued the City of Portland for this. No outcome yet but it’s in process in the court system I think. Our dumb mayor is also planning a ban on camping on city property from something like 8:00am to 8:00pm. This starts in July. Oh and he’s trying to make a law to ban public or open air hard-drug use. Both of our cities are so sad and depressing now. 😢
Did you think the lawmakers got rich off their salaries? 🤣🤣🤣
San Francisco was definitely like this when I visited in 2012. Not a new problem. It’s veryyyy open drug use and very open homelessness unlike anything I’ve seen before in the country. That said, homelessness is increasing all over. I live in Dallas and we have more tent cities this year than ever before. Covid, opioid crisis, inflation, wealth gap…I mean, look at the big union strikes that have happened in the last few years. Poor is extremely poor, middle class is barely getting by. I can’t imagine the impossible task of trying rehab or house these people on the streets and I’m sure everyone is feeling desperate…but maybe there is a bigger problem when we use dehumanizing language for a group of people and words of awe and wonder for pricey condos. I’m 36, single and basically have to keep 2 full time jobs to pay my bills. So, yeah…there’s something wrong.
I have lived in Thailand for 20 years (lived in the Seattle area for 30 years before). Especially now I feel way more safe anywhere in Thailand (including Bangkok which is HUGE) than walking around a major US city. Thailand has a great sense of freedom, but a couple of times when I took a break from walking around Lumphini Park (very large green space in Bangkok) and laid down on a park bench I was asked to sit up by park security because it promotes loitering. I wish they did this and more in US cities. Yeah fine take a 5-minute rest, but otherwise get up and go get on with life, or go home. If any of these tent cities were attempted in Thailand there would be a public outcry, not necessarily for police, but for the families to come rescue their people and take care of them. Unfortunately there is very little such safety net in American society. If you can't afford a small apartment or a decent car and hold down a job, in the USA you are F*ked!

You get exactly what you Vote for. And people will NOT change the way they Vote. THAT is insanity.
I know right
Not all Californians voted for this. Unfortunately, most did and those who voted against the liberal policies end up suffering
Yes. If Americans keep voting Capitalist, they will get this - private affluence for a lucky, greedy few; public squalor and misery for many.
the truth is that its probably rigged.
What businesses are going to allow a homeless person to use their washrooms unless they are buying something ?
It used to be so nice in many of these places! I'm sad to say it but the tents have got to go. It's a huge health and safety risk.
Yes, this is a public health problem . Nobody considers the sanitation issue with people living on a sidewalk with no access to restrooms. Not to mention the syringes and other paraphernalia just thrown on the ground. I’m beyond caring about the homeless at this point. Everyone else is being forced to deal with it but the homeless people themselves.
You are the problem ??? Keep voting democrap !!!!
Wait until the really hot temperatures hit. The smell is going to be horrendous.
@@notmebutyou8350 It doesn't get that hot in San Fran. That's why they are there.
@@DIVISIONINCISIONglobal warming… just wait till fire season
Yep- you said it.
I don't think anyone has left their heart in San Francisco anymore 😂
All that effort to invest to live in San Francisco to hear the lady say they tried to sell and can’t sell, because of the ongoing erosion within San Francisco’s residents. The city has always been plagued with issues such as this; only reason it’s been exacerbated due to the boiling water finding no other way but to spew out the pot after decades of negligence, neglect, and always relying on big tech companies reaping their profits and now they’re faced with the effects of greed.
Shameful that the government has let this happen
The citizens wanted it , and government just carries out what voters want.
The government is letting this happen "on purpose."
The voters MADE this happen.
The government invited the homeless and criminals to the haven called San Francisco. Time for the tax paying citizens to move out and seek greener pastures.
Technically, Homeless and mentally I’ll are voters to.
This is by design. None of this is an unintended consequence.
By design for what and by whom. That’s bs!
A design of Reaganomics.
@@MrMarkOlson Didn't Reagan say NO to drugs? These bunch of muppets running the show say YES please and SUPERSIZE it !! Lmfao
@@deepthought8770 Nancy Reagan said no to drugs, because her stupid husband woundn't say the word "AIDS" and let that crisis expand to a crisis. Reaganomics, the policy of reducing taxes on the rich, began the process of shinking the middle class and expanding the lower-middle, poor, and homeless classes of people. People may not have realized the consequences of repeatedly lowering taxes on the rich at the time, which Reagan started, but it is easy to see now. It has decimated the middle class in the USA.
they should let them camp out in the front yards of these judges who are blocking enforcement
This is not a drug dealing or drug use problem, it's political incompetence. They invited this environment through their policies or lack thereof
This has been going on for decades... Time to change!
Tolerated Systemic Behavior.
This would make me so mad if I lived there. Shame on you SF for allowing this to continue.
No shame on the residents who vote for this same nonsense year after year after year after year. They need to stop complaining and live with their decisions.
It is unbelievable that the city, state, and feds can't put a giant homeless shelter up and get all these people the mental health and substance use disorder treatment they need? This is America WTF
What can you do when the law protects the criminals more than the citizens?
I just cant understand why this mess is allowed? if SF cant figure it out then they deserve what they get.
That is part of the charm that attracts free spirits as tourists to town. Imagine a place where you can just take a dump anywhere you want in public. How liberating. The freedom of expression this creates is priceless. All people should be this free.
You can also yell and intimidate people who will just skitter away because self-defense is not an option.
"Imagine a place where you can just take a dump anywhere you want in public. How liberating. The freedom of expression this creates is priceless. All people should be this free."
More like the freedom to kiss someone of the same gender in public or paint a tasteful mural.
Sorry, you couldn't pay me to live in a small town where everybody hates anyone who isn't white and straight.
😂
I can't even take a dump with someone in the next stall let alone on a busy sidewalk. I'll take my tourism $$ to a State where pooping on the sidewalk is only legal for dogs and the dogs human gets a ticket if they don't pick it up.

" I'll take my tourism $$ to a State where pooping on the sidewalk is only legal for dogs and the dogs human gets a ticket if they don't pick it up."
So you're taking your tourism money to California?
California has the highest GDP of any state, by the way. That means we're more successful than your red state. We're not going away any time soon.
Force the SF Politicos to live right there on the street with them. THEN see how quickly this gets addressed. Yes, I am a SF resident and this kind of thing sickens me. It is one thing to be genuinely homeless and trying but quite another to be like these people who would obviously rather get stoned and live in/create such squalor and filth.
You are a SF resident. Did you vote for the leaders who serve you? If you vote for them, then you have no right to complain. Any politician who doesn't believe in this nonsense wouldn't even get 1% of the vote in SF.
@@BigPinkFloyd And your point is?
I say maybe some of these homeless people pitch their tents in front of Pelosi mansion, do their drugs, throw their used needles in Nancy's lawn, urinate, dedicate on her sidewalk, see how she likes it.
@@michaelgatheringdust Maybe next time you vote, vote for someone who will solve these problems your complaining about as opposed to someone obsessed with virtue signaling and inclusivity. Choose wisely because your city is on the precipice of losing all business and tourism for the foreseeable future. (It might be too late but here's hoping)
@@deepthought8770 How do you know who I voted for? What, if your assumption that because certain politicos won everyone in SF voted for them? Typical internet thought process..
blame the city planners and mayor's office, they raised the property taxes from 4.5% to 12%
follow the money, not the homeless
Property and other taxes are at its highest levels..this is what we get? Oh no….totally unacceptable.
Hhahahaha..can't sell your condo, I'm so SHOCKED. You voted for these people for YEARS. You should be fine with it, right? Notice how she wants to remain anonymous....what are you afraid of?
That she would be hated by the people she voted for for complaining.
I didn't vote for her, and I believe in the death penalty and shoot to kill.
Stop assuming who people voted for. Grow up!
They did vote for this. No assumptions to it.
They did vote for this and you reap what you sow. The problem is it is too easy for these people to escape the problems they created. They can move. In a just world they would be stuck there to vote in people who would fix this but they will move to another place and vote in the same crowd for leadership
Well, if you live in San Francisco, then you have no one to blame but yourself.
Yep. Now they are complaining but for decades they were so proud to vote blue.
Nothing is being managed at the Office of Emergency Management. The homeless is just waiting to break into the building and live inside. There goes the neighborhood.
Put them in city hall
It's a shame the homeless drug users have more rights to get high in the streets while our hands are tied and can only watch that's why I moved to the kings county in California
How do they have more rights? I can walk downstairs and do the same thing as everyone else..
You can’t lump all the homeless as drug users. It’s like regular folk being military…..
Point is some are and some aren’t.
They have the right to get high on the street on the sidewalk and do nothing I was out there for 3 years 90 percent are exactly doing what they want get high and do nothing to help themselves but you throw your pity party and fool yourself
@@rauxieswisdom3102 Whether they're addicts or not, they shouldn't have the ability to camp wherever they want. Most are drug addicted. I have zero sympathy for them. ZERO!!! i have to tame my language now or the yt police will ban me, lol.
Well bring out there for 3 year's and now being sober for 4 years have a car a place to stay and I'm safe ya I can say that there's only a very very small percentage who wouldn't be out there if they just got off the dope and people feeling sorry for them
