What San Francisco has done to the Tenderloin is disgusting. They would never do this to West Portal or St Francis Woods and that is why it is just wrong.

I came to the US in 1998 to SF. The tenderloin has gotten worse. Since the 90s.

I lived in the Tenderloin 25 years ago. I used to go to and from my apartment almost worry free at all times day or night. The people running SF have ruined that city over the years. It's sad. I've lived in Los Angeles since 2002, and haven't been back to SF, and I have no desire to ever go back. I consider it a dead city for me. I had a lot of good times in SF. There were a lot of music venues and affordable places to eat everywhere. The bus system was great, and very little violence. They had excellent taquerias, chinese food, vietnamese food, Italian food. It was a great city. It's ruined now.

You can stand on Jones St at Boeddecker Park and look across the street and see a line of drug use and then look over to the intersection to the left @ Eddy and Jones and its appalling - the Tenderloin police station right there less than 100 ft SMH

At some point cities challenged with the social ill of the nation and looking for short-term easy solutions come to conclude that they can either contain such chaos in a given area... or have the chaos be spread out across the city ....or they can go about the harder work of really trying t deal with the cause of the issue and not just the symptoms
Build sober housing. Make mental institutions great again. Help people detox. Help them regain their sanity (if possible) and help them find gainful employment.

Just traveled to Boston MA. Amazingly clean, safe, and no vagrancy, no tents on sidewalks, no crap on sidewalks, no needles on sidewalks, and no fentanyl zombies. SF is a sewer

@@soolly357 I was just there but admittedly I was around the north end and Beacon hill and downtown areas. Through all they were very clean, safe, and no homeless tents etc.. I'm sure there's problem areas. But in SF it's crap everywhere. Some better than others but it's f'd up. SF government and Mayor Breed are absolutely terrible.

I lived in SF in the mid 70's. The Tenderloin was full of drug addicts and hookers then. The police kept them there. What's different now?
People are waking up. Rents are up. People whom normally would not live there now live there and so with that, a bit of civility would be nice.
