I have never been so happy with a phone purchase in my life until I got the 15 pro. Extremely powerful, extremely useful. Awesome image and video quality. ProRes is a God send! Changes everything. Best thing is how good the iPhone 15 feels in my hand.. I can literally hold it in my hand all day and it feels good.

A major key here is: talent. Some people are gifted and can produce good stuff no matter the equipment. There are some in the the audio industry that can throw a few beats together, add a little synth action here and there, with a dash of piano, and produce amazing sounding stuff in minutes. The video world has folks with great imaginations. I mean, what seems obvious to them, I never would have thought of. We should all learn to appreciate the God given talents each of us has.

Loved that you addressed the old criticism, because it never made any sense. If someone said "Shot on Arri", no one would question for a second about what equipment was used. I think one thing that you may notice apple has always done, in all their "Shot on iPhone" stuff, is they NEVER use anything in front of the camera lens. They want it to be the exact image that the camera can capture. So, I think it is pretty accurate to say "Shot on iPhone" and they do mention they use software and hardware in the making of.
I honestly think that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is truly a game changer for regular people who want to make movies.

I have just finished a project capturing a family reunion over 4 days. Was filming with a mirror less, camcorders and iPhone on a gimbal. And to my surprise, most of the footage we used in the final product that was professional and crispy was… the iPhone!

It doesn't matter how you explain it, a small amount of very vocal people are going to hate it simply because it's Apple. Be it jealousy, lust, or just because they are not happy in their own lives, there are always going to be those voices that say "it's fake" or, "its a lie", or some other reason as to why it can't be done. At the end of the day art is what you make it. I make videos on my channel that get no views, and if someone does click on it they don't stay long. But I don't change the way I make videos to please the mass's, I make them because I enjoy the process and am making them for myself. So whether shot on an iPhone or on a ARRI with a million dollar budget, it wouldn't make a difference. My point here is "who cares" if they did or didn't have a huge budget, the device you use only enables your creativity, it doesn't make it "good" or "great", it simply makes it.

Hi , just had a look at your channel and I think you do well with your view figures, hope you continue doing what you do. If we just go for view figures we would all post videos with Golden Retrievers in it and how boring would that be. Good luck to you.

good video.. waiting on the video testing and comparing with android raw.. the app now even supports direct log recording from the raw.. just tested on my s23 ultra and it works great... even direct hlg gives great ready results. But 30 fps max.. really intense process. The app is sooo much better on beta version 3. You shoud give it a try.

It's pretty amazing. In a couple years I think it'll REALLY revolutionize filming...at least for the enthusiast/hobbyist/masses. When they can better mimic high end lenses and depth of field digitally, and if they can make the ultra wide as good as the main camera it'll really be a game changer.
Really hopeful that Blackmagic can allow us to use the depth/cinematic mode in their app at some point here in the near future (then it'd be even more incredible).
I find myself using my phone way more now to try and practice getting good shots and it's allowing me to learn a lot faster. Way more than I will/would caring around my mirrorless camera everywhere.
And the stabilization works good enough that I don't really need a gimbal really.
All we need is an internal eND somehow. :D Then it's literally everything you need right in your pocket.

Sorry to ask again, but do you know if using a USB-C splitter would allow SSD recording as well as plugging in the DJI Wireless receiver? I’ve done extensive research and it doesn’t seem to be possible but I thought out of everyone, you would know?! :-) great video again thanks.

I haven’t tried it with the DJI receiver but it worked just fine when I used a splitter with the RODE Wireless Pro and also doing external recording. So i don’t see why it wouldn’t work with the DJI mic setup. Hope that helps!

I’ve tried with the Belkin splitter and it worked fine with a rode video mic mini, a rode wireless go and a DJI wireless mic. I just wished it would be a little bit smaller. The good thing is that it has 4 ports so I can even charge the phone

There's no doubt that the images produced by the 15 Pro Max can be remarkable. However, for commercial distribution, Netflix, Amazon, broadcasters such as the BBC, the EBU standards authority, they will all insist on very stringent technical specifications. I've seen some of the spec sheets which go very deeply into image science.
I know that there are some films shot on iPhones that have "made it" - Tangerine etc, but I'm just wondering in principle that there might well be issues in the future. I hope not, but it's just worth considering...
