Nice to see someone give Matek a run for their money.
SpeedyBee had so many orders of these in the first 3 days, they can't even handle all the orders!
Mine are coming soon and I can't wait to have a closer looka and to test them!
Plug in JST connectors are clean, great and neat. More and more FCs got into the wagon. Happy to participate:)
Andrew thanks moch for this awesome wideo ❤ May the force be with you 🖖🤠👍
Well done Andrew, first to fly this new FC from Speedybee....Video link was very clean....Matek, take note....and the price is a no brainer....😮😮😏😏🇬🇧
Thanks ET. It flew very well
@@AndrewNewton Got a Speedybee Stack on my new digital quad also, no complaints so far....🤔😀😏🇬🇧
I have one on pre order....😮😏😏🇬🇧
Looks like a great board for a great price
Great video! New to fixed wing looking at this FC
no one has done a complete build of this FC only videos so far ive seen are the FC Itself and After Its Installed.. Im sure people want a follow along build video. i might do one and be the first.
I'm in the middle of a connection basics video but not a build video. Do it and be the first Keith.
I got 3 of them being delivered tomorrow😊
Great review. It's an easy decision when they have both iNav and Ardu options. Very smart design. I've got SpeedyBee on my quads. Nice boards, no issues so far. I would expect the same from the wing version.
Nice new in the infamous. I was a bit surprised that one made the cut. Looks to fly well. Redeemed at last. Thanks for including the the review and the flight together. And ELRS too.
I have always liked the Rambler itself. Kept is as a good example of the swept forward wing style.
Thanks, good vid. Ordered one today. ✌️
Mine are still in limbo somewhere on a plane or truck LOL. Great video Andrew.
Speedybee order status leaves a lot to be desired
Awsum Job ! Thankyou for your uncomplicated calm walk-through of this unit and flight.....my newbee brain managed to keep up just.....😉😎
Ha, well done. A whole lot of jargon and acronyms with FCs
@@AndrewNewton but my brain still hurts 🤕😉😎
Thanks so much. Love your videos.
That’s a unbelievable price for such a capable unit
Thanks!
Thank you Steve, very kind
Bueno y barato. Amigo sigo su canal desde hace mucho tiempo, pues sus trabajos y fabricación de aeromodelos con foam, me resultan bien prácticos, aquí en Cuba estoy trabajando mis aviones a su estilo y semejanza, gracias
Gragias and hello Cuba
Awesome review. First review I've seen that has provided an excellent overview, and included setup and flight demonstrations. Agree, think it will be a popular FC.
Connectors on FC's seem to be more common in the ArduPilot community. Not sure why.
Thanks for noticing AV. Not so keen on bench only reviews
@@AndrewNewton Agree, much appreciated. ♥👍
Yup just ordered one
Many thanks Andrew for your perfect review so i just ordered one today !
Will be mounted on a modified Bird (Eagle...) looking Vtail parkflyer with pylon mounted brushless and 1.4 M wingspan sligthly carbon reinforced for the extra onboard HD FPV (Firefly Q6) + analog TX TS 832.
I plan ton install Arduplane thought since not familiar with Inav and I love the advanced functions of Ardupilot although the RAM on the board is lower than regular Arducopter rigs such as ProfiCNC Cube series.
Anyway I'll share the results once completed which is scheduled first quarter 2024 due to other projects that needs to be delivered.
Cheers 😀
Sounds good. Should be fine for Ardu but maybe need to put additional font files on the SD card
Nice FC. Hope they’ll distribute it in EU as well. Cheers Andrew.
They sell directly from china, 2-4 weeks free delivery!
@@rotormasher thanks pal
Ordered for EU and it's on its way
I wish they would send with the pins soldiered. My sight has screwed at least 3 FC's........lol
I reversed the battery cables in the XT60!! Luckily I used a smoke stopper for the first power up.
Interesting video! First of all, thank you very much. I also use the board and have a problem with the ETC. My ETC only starts to let the motor turn when I have throttle at half position. I suspect that since the ETC is already powered when the battery is plugged in and the FC is still booting, the problem arises. If I use the ETC normally with a normal receiver, the problem does not exist.
ESC? Needs to be calibrated in INAV. You can use the Outputs tab if you select Live Mode and use the slider.
very cool
Me encanta esa placa, por que no la programaste con ardupilot? Muchas gracias por el video fue excelente.
I prefer INAV, easier to understand.
Greetings from Baku Azerbaijan ✊🇦🇿👍
Greetings to Baku
I lashed out on one of these as my first FC board, will put it into my Eachine Seal. Must find a decent low cost GPS though, that's not something I have either.
Beitian BN880 is my recommendation
Another great video.Thank you for helping Newcomers like myself if I don't understand this fc. I have a question for you, and that is, if I wanted to use the D ji 03 air unit. Do you have any idea of how to arm it To get out of the low voltage state?
Thanks. Arming the FC should bring it out of low power mode, at least that's how my DJI air units work. 03 might be different.
👌👌👍👍
Very nice my boss!
Will buy if price doesn't increase all of the sudden by 50%, but need to get my gear first. Coming back to hobby after 3 years.
Hi Andrew can you do a video showing how to connect all the wires in this Fc? Just to say one, I have no clue where to connect the signal esc cable on the board… It would be very helpful for many of us. Thanks.
Yes that would be a video worth doing. S1 and S2 are for ESC signal wires. But signal and ground only, not the red wire.
@@AndrewNewton thank you Andrew!
Bought 2 of these from the last video where you mentioned them. Shipping time looks to be a bit long.
they probably didnt expect the board to be this popular. Also bought one for myself as my wing is currently benched due to a broken FC
Andrew.... how is your analogue video quality SO GOOD, it looks digital! Are wings better than quads as the components can be a bit more spread out?
That's right, less noisy components than multirotors and further away. The FC has good filtering for the video as well, and it was a bright sunny day.
Hellow Mr. Newton.
Your videos are very good and very educational, since I discovered you I follow you.
I wanted to ask you if it is possible to use a FRSKY R10PRO receiver on the FC Speedybee F405 wing and through which port, and especially the configuration on the X20S transmitter. thank you very much.
Yes with ACCST and SBus but probably not FPort. I will check with mine
hello how can fix the analog video transmitter and camera? you did not touch anything so you get video!!
Have a look at my Connections video. ruclips.net/video/X86keMf2rv4/видео.html
Trying out a new feature (RTH backtracking) over water? You're braver than I am ;-)
No choice really, but it has work so far
@@AndrewNewton And long may it continue, like your videos...
Wondering what Goggles you were using during this test flight....
Aomway Commander
Thanks for the video. Were you intentionally switching between OSD 'presets' (going from a cluttered/informative display to almost nothing displayed at around 11:03)? Did you map that function to a radio channel within the FC board or is that an iNav setting? Seems like a useful function, unless that was an error with recording to the black box while simultaneously displaying the OSD. I'm also wondering which antennas you were using for your Eachine vtx and goggles, if not the stock ones. Thanks
All Foxeer - Echo 2 patch and 15cm lollopop on the goggles and a lollipop on the VTX. I have 3 OSD screens which are on the left dial, set up in INAV modes page
Thanks. I also appreciate your follow-up video on wiring the FC as it answered lots of questions for myself as a beginner. I think I’ll be choosing this flight controller for Ardupilot projects and perhaps explore INAV with it later on. I hope it’s reliable.
Hi I’m new to using flight controllers. I have this speedybee one. My question is I’m putting it in the Ranger 2000. How long can the wires be from the board to lipo and also the esc. Thanks
As long as they need to be. Some of mine are 25cm
@@AndrewNewton thank you.
I just received the two I ordered and where I have zero issues getting my other FC to connect on my PC using betaflight or inav. I'm unable to get either of the speedybee fCs to connect. I had zero issues getting the three boards connected to each other as well as the remote buzzer/usb board connected. Both fc's light up and buzzer initiates if enable they just are not detecting as a usb device. Strangely enough the first FC i opened had a jumper on the esc board connectors I had to remove before being able to connect to the other board where the secound fc had no jumper that had to be removed. I really have no clue whats going on with them or why one had a jumper and the other did not.....s
Bawahahah have you tried turning it off and back on?? Its fixed!!!
Haha, yes I have to reconnect and re launch the configurator occasionally. Not only with the SB F405
On the led ports, is it capable of letting the fc address the leds? If so, does each port do a specific number range of leds or does each leg have a data in and data out that are chained together in order? Not finding much info on it, I may just hook it up and do some testing
I have never tried FC programmed LED's but someone said only one LED port is FC controlled
Hi, i'm a newbie and i am wondering if this FC has a built in ESC? Or do i need an ESC for every motor? Thanks in advance!
No built in ESCs.
Hello sir it refuses to arm the moment I unplug the usb connector to my computer.
Link in the description that may help
hey Andrew!
With your new move to SA, have you found any good foam to hotwire wings from? Cheers
Havent needed to look yet. Still have a heap of the yellow XPS
@@AndrewNewton: Use parallel hotwires to cut XPS ribs over your Template....
Hi Andrew also just received my speedybee. I have a M8N GPS compass I used on my pixhawk but unable to get this GPS working on the speedy. Can you confirm the GPS wiring details.
Thank you Henny
Just now uploading a video that will help
Hi Andrew could you possibly answer a question I have , soldered up the speedybee all was going fine , could run the motor ect from inav but I out my crossfire nano in to where you showed could get telemetry on Tx16s but no stick movement at all tried reversing the rx tx ect but nothing at all any ideas what I was doing wrong servos moved with movement of board but that’s all I can get, receiver tab was set to csrf ect but absolutely nothing at all bound and rebounded the nano and made new models in tx16s no matter what I did nothing, could the soldering affect that or you think it’s a bad board ? Also all the lights for the battery indicator was just continuously flashing but voltage was showing in inav , just trying to understand what I mite of done wrong… many thanks 🙏
First step is to reflash INAV and make sure the Rx is actually bound correctly.
Hello Andrew, How can you get the black box data from the SD without having to remove it?
Not something I have done but this post might help facebook.com/groups/947623022106163/search/?q=sd%20card
Hi Andrew. Got the speedybee installed in the atomrc seal. Just received the led lights but don't know how to turn them on, can you help please?
Thanks
Didn't know you could turn them off. Check the manual for the required boot button pushes maybe
Do I need to set something in inav?
No it is all done with the Boot Button on the board. Although there is one mode where control is handed to INAV, but I have never played with INAV leds.
Hi, which fpv cam are You using?
Runcam Phoenix 2
