    Try the artillery hold and rest your hand on your stand. You will see much better results

      Hi @alexaudit4516, thanks for watching and taking the time to drop me a comment. I tried several holds off camera, all had much the same results. But I do agree, the looser the hold the better. However, that trigger was just to stiff for me.
      Anyway, from me and the team at theGunLocker, all the very best.

    100% agree with your evaluation of the rifle , could be quite a few injured animals roaming around the woods after using that particular rifle , in my opinion , a 12fpe rifle SHOULD be checked for accuracy by the RFD / manufacturer / or whatever prior to being sold .. yes , every individual one ... wouldn't take long .. Great review all the same .. loving yer content ..

    Hi Mark, fine review as always. I have the Gamo Whisper X Storm .177 (£240) which is the same rifle in a different guise and struggle? Yes. Tightening my hold on the gun helped some but then I had to try not to snatch at the trigger which feels a bit Zen. The hex screws on the stock below the breech need regular tightening and that helps a bit too. And yes, it’s pellet picky. Webley Accupells kind of suit it. At best it groups within about an inch at 25 yards though I’m no Hawkeye but there are inevitable flyers. Since some shots are reasonably accurate the problem is not necessarily barrel quality. My guess is the magazine system. I, like you, seat the pellets with a probe but I doubt they settle in the breech consistently while cocking. The magazines does feel a bit tacky. The gun is fun, packs a punch but a challenge still and may remain inconsistent because of the loading system. Budget is budget. We can but try. £309 gets you a BSA Meteor Super which is another break barrel entirely! Bought the Remington War Hawk on your recommendation and that underlever is really good value for the money (£219). Thanks again for your broadcasts. Baz.

      Hi Baz, Thank you for your kind remarks and the leap of faith! For the money, The Warhawk is a surprisingly good underlever. Hope you enjoy it! Struggling to say anything good about Gamo at the moment. Anyway, all the best...shoot safe.

    Hi, I bought it a year ago and I had the same problem with accuracy. Five pellets in the center and one in the sky, the gun is unpredictable! My old air rifle that I bought around 15 years ago cost me £60 and it still shoot better. The only advantage of this one is power. Till now I was thinking that it is faulty, but it looks like all of them are like that. Unfortunately, with this accuracy, it is only suitable for shooting cans

    Hi, just seen nick vendings review of his gamo elite swarm. Also initially had poor accuracy with all pellets. Then a viewer advised him to check the forend stock screws, and yes they were both loose ! Had to remove rubber grip pieces to access them.
    Screws tightened and instant accuracy as it should be. He also changed trigger adjuster screw with a slightly longer one and was much happier too ! Hope this helps. Ps I too was disappointed to read the gamo doesn't come with open sights.
    Cheers Brian.

    • @theGunLocker
      @theGunLocker  Год назад

      Hi Brian, thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. Regards the forend stock screws...they have absolutely no bearing on accuracy as you can shoot almost all guns out of their stocks...not so for shotguns and semi-automatics. Plus it's a break barrel so again has no bearing on it. And I know of the screw being changed for a longer one but that should have been the responsibility of the manufacturer. Anyway, I do appreciate your comments and please carry on doing so. All the best. Mark.

    • @ronaldspice8890
      @ronaldspice8890 Год назад

      @@theGunLocker Sorry but your comment is not correct, if you have loose forestock screws, the action will float in the stock, up down side to side, causing accuracy issues, most good springer shooters know this and always check stock screws/bolts tensions.

      @@theGunLocker Yes I am aware of the so called new Diana Airking which is a relaunch of an old idea, even AA produced a recoilless model of the TX200. All I'm trying to point out is if you have a unstable platform that your action sits in, then theres a great chance of point of impact shift.

    • @theGunLocker
      @theGunLocker  Год назад

      Hi Pourya, thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. For me, the rifle isn't accurate. The groups were very poor at that distance and the barrel is pellet fussy. Now it is the sub 12ft lbs version that I reviewed, so more power may suit the twist rate of the barrel and improve accuracy, but in the format that I was using, I most definitely would NOT buy it! There are better rifles on the market.
      To put it into context, using that rifle to shoot vermin or small game would give you a 90% chance of injuring or maiming the animal and not dispatching it quickly and cleanly. Those odds are way too high and bordering on cruelty. Not something I can condone.
      All the best and hope you've subscribed.

    Your findings are a mirror image of what I found with my gamo speedster. These are shockingly bad guns. I now find I’ve got a rifle that never sees light of day. I think it’s more gimmick than function. I also cleaned the barrel throughly and re-leaded. Like you my 77k is a keeper and regular shooter, sadly this isn’t ☹️ I must have put around 1000 pellets down rage with this gun. I actually thought the scope was the problem (parallax error) so changed it with the same result. Such a shame, I really wanted my gamo to work.

      I honestly believe that some European manufacturers are treating the UK market as second rate and it's not right!

    • @johnfrancis5673
      @johnfrancis5673 Год назад

      I think thats' unduly harsh or you have a n unwarranted sense of loyalty & devotion to the 77K. I have the swarm maxim elite (basically the mark 1 version of this) and at 30 metres I get all 10 into a 2 inch group ctc with the main group 4 or 5 of them touching perhaps inside an inch with relatively cheap pellets & the basic scope that came with it & hits hard at 11.4. Now that I'm used to the relatively fast shooting of the swarm it seems painfully slow & unnecessarily long winded loading each single shot from the tin into the breech sometimes fumbling etc. The swarm magazine system added a whole new dimension of excitement & fun to break barrel air rifle shooting for me For example I can hit a can (or similar) at around 25 metres 10 times in around 30 seconds which is less then half the time I can do that with a single shot loaded break barrel.

      @@johnfrancis5673 I must admit really like the innovation gamo have brought to the sport with the swarm mechanism. also like you I put my money down and paid for one the Gamo roadster, it was around £300. I still take it out in hope but capability of that gun is restricted to about 20/25 yrds in my opinion. As for being a wedded to the HW77. Yes it’s a great gun, but so is my TX200 & controversially my BSA lightning GRT. The difference with these three rifles is build quality, it’s first class and the accuracy is phenomenal and both the TX and HW are proven but they do come with a larger price tag. To me a good quality springer should be able to keep up with a pcp and I’ll say my Air Arms and HWs can. Personally accuracy is king and a 2” group at 25 is very disappointing from gamo when other springers can tip over a target at 50yrds with ease. Now am I still going to shoot it in hope, yes. The gamo is a budget gun and for the money you get a lot for a starter package. Maybe I got a Friday afternoon gun🤷‍♂️

      alot of websites are advertising these rifles as IGT but i got in touch with pellpax and they got in touch with their gamo rep and he confirmed that they are IGT for the US and EU market but spring for the UK market...no idea why.

    Gamo and BSA triggers are useless. Also to get any reasonable adjustment you need to put in a longer adjusting bolt/screw to achieve a lighter trigger. I also believe the multishot loading mechanism causes issues with loading and accuracy. You can purchase upgrade triggers which are claimed to improve accuracy. I wish Gamo would actually put more effort of care into their manufacturing.
