when I cache or make alembic from my voronoi fracture it produces really really bad results and basically ignores my nice setups. The non cached normal viewport playback version is perfect. But I need a cached or alembic version that works and actually represents my setup. I used rigid bodies with my voronoi fracture. obv cached them. produces random results.
Excellent! Can you suggest a trick for my animation? I have an object on a cube, the cube moves and the object falls and breaks. I tried On Collision setting but it stops falling. I tried Immediately, but it breaks while at the top of the cube before it falls. Any ideas?
Is there a way to prevent the cracks/seams from appearing before impact? I have a sphere with a light inside being exposed only on impact. But the second the motion starts you can see light cracks on the sphere where the segments connect.
Is there a way of fixing the fracture before it hits down? When the object in the voroni fracture is going down, you will see it breaking before it hits down. Otherwise, your tutorials are awesome. Thanks!
You can change the size increment value to something like -0.1 in the Dynamics Tag - Collision tab and it should work. The parts will not touch each other before the impact.
You can try changing the 'size increment' on Rigid body - Collision tab to -0.01. This way the parts won't touch while it's falling and crack marks will not show. There are probably other ways to do it, but this worked for me.
Thank you so much for this! Just a quick question, how do i hide the fractures in the start and show them as they break. not show all the fractures at once. Thank you!
This is the best reply to people not liking a video I have ever heard on youtube!!!

Is there any way to assign inside and outside materials using Octane?

I fixed it by setting the trigger on collision in the Dynamics tab inside the Dynamics body tag
@@santiagocrespo8613 thank you so much man
i got it thx
Great tutorial but what is your render settings?
Do you mean for the thumbnail animation?
Thanks for sharing! Can the crack marks not show before it hits the ground?

@@Mr_Anderson_one ohh got it ! thanks a lot:)
In the collision tab you should be able to select dynamics on collision. That way it'll only fracture when it hits to floor.

0:55 what is the shortcut to open that tab to search?

you can press shift+c on the keyboard or right-click on the object and select rigid body (in simulation tags)
