  • Hi RUclips!
Today I park in the Prewley Moor area of Northwest Dartmoor and embark on a beautiful hike, visiting 4 tors and the mysterious Branscombe’s Loaf!
There’s a Dartmoor legend for how the lof came to be and, as always, stunning scenic views of one of the best places to walk in England, and my favourite place to walk in Devon, Dartmoor National Park.
I started by heading up to Eastern Tor, before continuing the climb to Sourton Tors, then I drop down into the valley before a hard climb up the face of Corn Ridge to reach Corn Tor & Branscombe’s Loaf. Then I drop back down to Shelstone Tor and the West Okement Valley before making my way back to the car.
There are tough climbs and steep descents, valleys and peaks, sheep and farmers, cows and ponies, and views all around… this hike has it all!
    Tors visited in this video:
    #41 Eastern Tor
    #42 Sourton Tors
    #43 Corn Tor
    #44 Shelstone Tor

I walk from Prewley moor up past Sourton Tor and then up Corn Ridge to Branscombe's Loaf every other day throughout the year-except when lightning is forecast (for obvious reasons). It's my exercise that keeps me going at 74 years old. Yes, it's a climb, but you get used to it. The whole walk takes me around an 1 hr 40 minutes. I know it's daft but I've named most of the rocks along the route!
