  • The Fastest and Most Stable Monopod in 2024 is the YC Onion PINETA Pro. During the NAB Show 2024, I chatted with Sandy from YC Onion about the new YC Onion PINETA Pro Monopod. I used the PINETA Pro Monopod throughout the entire NAB Show, and I can't wait for its release.
Sony FX3 with 24mm GM in Kondor Blue FX3 Cage, Atomos Ninja Ultra, and GENTREE Bumble 147WH V Battery mounted on SmallRig V Mount Plate.
The main camera slider movement was the YC Onion Hotdog Slider 80mm, which supported the Sony FX6 with Sigma 14-24mm, SoundDevices MIXPre 3 II, and Atomos Shogun Ultra with a GENTREE V mount battery.

Thank you and me too. During the NAB Show YC Onion received a lot of feedback about what can be improved with the PINETA Pro Monopod so I know the final version will be even better than the beta version I used during the entire NAB Show. I found the Pro version seamless to use and super stable for my unmanned side camera angle during interviews.

@@WaltervanDusen Excellent...how robust is that trigger? Would it handle the riggers of travel? And I trust that the feet also quick release? Thanks Walter...

I was checking that out at NAB. I really liked it.

It's excellent and I used it during the entire NAB Show placing it for side angle multi camera view. People were nervous seeing it unmanned but it was super stable and not once tipped over.

This trigger lock monopod is perfect! Would make it easier to quickly change angles during a wedding. Wonder what it'll cost?

It should be released within a couple of months. This was pretty close to production ready but should have a few changes before release.

YC Onion is releasing their new PINETA Pro Monopod soon so I suggest waiting for that.

nice! how does it compare to the new ifootage trigger release (on kickstarter)? Which is lighter?

I didn't see the ifootage kick starter trigger release monopod during NAB Show but I did use the PINETA Pro Monopod during NAB Show and found it to be ultra quick and stable.

Nice design - I need a new monopod, it's a shame this is three months away.

I believe it's worth the wait but if you need one sooner the YC Onion PINETA with foot pedal base is awesome too. I've used it at several trade shows with no issues at all free standing unattended.
