I have the new and old cobra ifootage. then i just have this, this week. Quite expensive I might say. Both new cobra and this YC onion won't be stable for strong winds IMO, so you need a sturdy tripod. I haven't use this on the field yet, but I think stability-wise, they are probably same as cobra or maybe this would be a little stable, since I feel this is heavier. I probably will enjoy using this due to fast deployment (like the tribex tripod of smallrig) But expensive. If you already have the cobra, then I don't you need this one, unless you have gear syndrome like me.
Are people aware that they have absolutely zero customer service. I tried to return a purchase and they were nowhere to be found. In fact unless they change it now if you go on their website you will see that the refund and return page doesn't even work.
Yes when I order, I thought they will not deliver. It arrived after 14 days (I live in Asia). So sad if they don't have return policy, since I feel this is quite expensive. I feel it's more stable than cobra ifootage (I have both) and I was trying the head and it pans quite smoothly. But I haven't used it on the field yet. Just crossing my finger.
Still not sure why there are no cheaper versions of this even if they are janky, plus 3 leg tripods should do this. There should be a zillion of these and there are barely any. The mechanism cannot be that hard to design at this point. Something like a planetary gear in the top of a tripod head that turns a shaft inside each leg or something. Even if it sucked and was unreliable, there should be some on the market at an affordable price so we can see the mechanism get refined then we dont have to be sitting there twisting tripod legs all day.
ok the price surprised me a bit, if you compare it to the new ifootage Cobra strike. Did anyone do a comparison between the predecessors?
agreed. right now the ifootage is a much better price since it has kickstarter early bird pricing. but this one seems to fold up smaller.
was that $300, as the currency wasn't mentioned

Why were you trying to return it
@@YoungBlaze It was not as stable as I hoped, as well as actually being bigger than the flow tech which I know isn't fair comparison.
I wish I have read you post before.

U may need to ask your local store that import them. Most of them use Wechat to ask for return
These folks are awesome. Did they have any tripods there? Or they werent wanting to reshow last years amazing tripod?
Good luck if you ever need to service it or getting spare parts.
wtf the previous version only came out last year...
when the release date?
Looks pretty neat. I'm in the market for a monopod, so this is going on the list to look at.
no specs on B&H
8 pounds? My non-carbon fiber, very overbuilt Libec monopod is 4 pounds. I hope someone just did the math wrong on this one.
Sorry for the calculation mistake. The actual net weight of the monopod is 1.78kg/3.92lbs
@@yconionofficial Great to hear, now I'm interested!
great monopod
Oh, my I'm going to have to use my primitive monopod that requires releasing latches!
