What's pretty something is that everywhere in the spirit world besides the center is perceived differently. That's why Bard had to sing around puzzle problems while Audrey just stabbed everything with a electric sword

In any other game, this sequence would be totally normal. Just an average bit of dungeon. But in Wandersong, you realize what’s going on. Audrey barged into an Overseer’s palace, violently murdered its inhabitants, and then slaughtered the queen of winds. It’s so amazing to me how well written Wandersong is.
I love how this takes the same leitmotifs as I Wanna Be The Hero, but where that's flowing and orchestral sounding, like it all ties together, this one is... it's sharper, and darker, and electronic, with quick abrupt notes that don't flow.
It fits the differences between them! Kiwi's gentler, a bard who cares about people and spends time talking with them and listening to them. Audrey plays up her big splashy entrances, hamming it up to convince everyone that she's -really- a hero, but she doesn't care about people - just what they think about her. She interrupts when she's bored of talking, jumps to violence as a solution to problems - steel and lightning bolt fit the metal and electronica in this.

I'm highly amused by how much people immediately rejected Audrey in this intermission. I don't deny that Audrey's a horrible person, and she shows that from the very first meeting, and how the game ultimately ended. But that doesn't mean she isn't also an interesting character. This intermission shows off why she got the title; she's good at it. She's fascinating to watch and this intermission segment was legitimately fun to play, for me. Just because a character is a bad person doesn't mean they're a bad character; people are complicated, and that's ultimately the point Wandersong was making with Audrey's story arc. She did terrible things and ultimately refused to change, but by the end of the story we understand why, even if we resent her for it.
Wait, I totally agree with you, what do you mean by people rejecting Audrey in this intermission? Also, I really enjoyed how there was a sincere effort to reform her, and the result was genuinely unexpected by me. I didn't think such an optimistic game would take that route, but I'm glad it did, because there are always limits.
@@Tiger74147 A lot of people I know said, practically word for word, "I don't want it! Put it back!!!" when they played Audrey's interlude XD
You're right. She was a lot like Bard in the way she was basically a nobody, and this was her time to be important, to be noticed. You really think anyone would throw that away? No. Audrey definitely wouldn't, she wanted to be important no matter what.
I HATE Audrey Redheart, but yes, she's still a good character (but a horrible, detestable, unfun person) and she's and important character for the story
And the part of the game when we play as her is really good ngl

Would you feel something missing if you picked up your controller and got exactly the hero you were expecting? Would you ever notice that something was wrong, or would you applaud the game for its message of accepting the end? Would you ever question why your character was so cold and violent? Would you even give a rogue bard and witch the time of day?

I had sooooo much fun in this part.
You know, the death of that shield bird was kinda sad. It lasted longer than the rest, a tad like a last line of defense, and kinda kneeled before their death. They were the only one of their kind, everyone else was just a monster
Alternate Universe Comment:
This was the song that introduced me to the game. I think it was in a RUclips ad of all places. I honestly didn't pay it too much mind until I saw it pop up in my Steam queue and figured it looked fun enough. I don't regret that purchase at all, though. It's fun to just run through a level every now and then, usually with heavy amounts of lightning strikes. They're really fun. Wish more people knew about Thundersword, though.

I intentionally let her lose the first time through the fight. I knew it wasn't really the solution, but it felt better.

As much as I hate Audrey, this music is a huge bop
SPOILERS I THINK??! I really like how Audrey's character is, while every time I see her I go ew terrible, I find it interesting when she says roll credits/game over and says the overseers are corrupt and must be stopped, not considering there is a different path. it reminds me of some types of people who play as the hero in other games, how they don't question anything because "that's how the game is"
This music is AMAZZIIINNGNGGG!!!! It really catches a more traditional videogame vibe you get from her intermission! And also having snippets of The Hero?? yESSSSSSSS!!! This is honestly so fantastic

I LOVE this music and how it fits perfectly with the gameplay.
Funny how the one segment of the game, in which you're violent is the most fun to play (or at least it's up there)
Honestly I was shocked to see this scene. Most of the "antagonist's POV" scenes I’ve seen in media are from fan fiction.
I LOVE this part of the game.
-The actual gameplay is fantastic. Its so polished and responsive despite the game not being action-oriented like it. They COULD have made an action adventure game if they wanted to, and it would have been incredibly good.
-This section does an exceptional job of setting up Audrey. Her personality, her abilities, her goals, her relationship with Eyala. It's all so good.
And the music is just the cherry on top.

I'm I the only one who doesn't hate Audrey. My reasoning is because it was her job. She couldn't just drop it because someone told her to. And what else is she gonna do?
That’s a reasonable explanation when we first meet her, but as we learn more about why she’s actually doing this, it kinda falls apart.

I’m honestly a fan of Audrey's character. She’s an absolute bitch and she’s doing something commonly frowned upon in our culture (that is, killing), but at the same time it’s not very hard to understand why. I love myself some mean immoral characters who have a reason for their behavior other than "because fuck you".
