With the exception of the "special" variant modified to fire the ATACMS which requires a US Specialist to enter the targeting data. Now whether this person is active US Military out of uniform or former US Military working for a PMC under contract to the US State Department/DoD/CIA/a think tank where a cookie monster hangs out sometimes...who can say?

US would never give anyone an acess to strategical weapon like M-142. These systems are manned by US instructors, they are maintained by US personal and they are also getting intel directly from US to fire at designated targets. Ukraine would never be given access to that kind of a weapon without direct control from US. The risk of a system to get into Russia's hands is extremely high when it comes to most corrupted country on the globe that is Ukraine. It would be only a question of the price..

@@West_Wolf_Esq The US Army has LRHW, also US HIMARS and MLRS are capable of firing PrSM. In terms of the US Navy they are retrofitting destroyers with LRHW. While defensively RIM-161 Block II is capable of Mach 13.2.

Why ATACMS already has the capabilites of the earlier Iskander. Except M142 manages to launch from a smaller more useful vehicle. An Iskander launch vehicle is only capable of launching Iskanders.

I am not optimist about the development of this conflict. in the last months...if we believe at the russian official updates.. in just this last 2 months...nato lost 5 patriots..15 bilion dollars...there isn't rational calculation of costs-benefits just escalation ..only escalation. If i think that European national politicians for decades negated help and rise in social walfare and benefits (even in order of few milion euros) and now are wasting and burning bilions and lives There is just corruption and madness
Claiming to destroy a launch unit is not the same destroying $1B battery complex. Which is the price of the radar, command module, 8 launch unit, relay module. Plus all the additional vehicles and infrastructure to support the battery.

@@paristo well if the strike was done at night then thermal would be the best option to see the vehicles but one thing is certain whatever they where they are no more and I do have a hard time believing the Russians would use an iskander on anything but a high value target so it’s more than likely HIMARS or some other valuable piece of equipment.
