Mak had a good point with the dolphin talk. Dolphin's have a ridiculously good PR team. They're predators, and have exhibited signs of cruelty and casual violence in ways that many predators don't usually.
This is a v depressing thought, but is that correlated with the fact they’re so intelligent? So more intelligence = more cruelty/casual violence?
@@bruadarach9758 The only highly intelligent animals that often show signs of cruelty and unprovoked aggression I can think of are dolphins and chimpanzees, but there are plenty of pretty chill ones like bonobos, orangutans and many birds of the corvid family. Orcas are probably somewhere in the middle since they seem to be prone to vengefulness but not really unprovoked aggression

I can piggyback on Mak's ear story. I had a tick in my ear, on the eardrum, then I had a spider in my ear. Both times we floated them up using oil. You just lie down on your side with the affected ear facing up, fill the ear canal up with vegetable oil (something like olive oil), and it will float up. If it's a moth, shine a torch in and the moth will come towards the light. Australia represent!

OMG! Kayaking has been my new obsession this summer! I’ve gone out 6 times locally & once in Red River Gorge. I’m a photographer, so I do a lot of shooting from the water & now I wanna be best friends with Alayna’s fiancé. 😂

The west coast of Vancouver Island has incredible, beautiful beaches. I hope they have a safe kayak trip!!
To everyone: if ypu can afford it, to have clothes tailored to you is a completely game changer. It is not so expensive as you might think (you may have to do a bit of looking around, but also, many queer people are into sewing, etc, so maybe someone you know does it) and it is worth it.

Where I'm from, a lot of basic tailoring gets taught to children in schools, it's really helped me out! Usually it's quite simple to get into and you can try taking in the fabric of old clothes and such for practice

Alayna, your girlfriend’s trip sounds like a dream, but definitely scary! The terrain up north especially is unforgiving but soooo beautiful. Cape Scott is incredible! I hope she has the safest of trips and the best time.
For anyone who is interested… As for marine life, we’ve got basically everything, especially on the west coast. Yes, dolphins or other larger porpoises. I’ve seen them when riding in the ferries! The further up north you get, the more whales, also. So I bet your girlfriend is kayaking alongside whales, Alayna! 😬

The whole pimple popping discussion has me laughing. I legit did not properly know how to pop a pimple until I met my girlfriend at 25. She does it for me now. I grew up with my mom and my sister, and in that house of three women, no one knew about pimple popping somehow. 😅

Your girlfriend is a badass Alayna!! Kayaking for that long is exhausting but so rewarding! I’ve done a 5 day sea kayaking trip in the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior, sooo fun but so tiring in the best way! We also survived a major storm that ended up producing a tornado later on!

ALAYNA IS RIGHT ABOUT PIMPLES. literally the second they asked this question i knew she was going to say that. my own pimples? delicious. but i genuinely feel like if i watched too many pimple popping videos in a row i would vomit.

For the question about formal wear when you're not super fem or masc, I went through this! I like to straddle the line of those two and veer toward mixed or androgenous looks. My favorite is to find menswear style fabrics - think herringbone, houndstooth, classic small checks, pinstripes, etc for pants and pair them with a more structured top. My favorite look is a gray & black houndstooth pant with an asymmetrical black blouse. I can throw a jacket or shrug over it and a sharp pair of leather dress shoes (any style works!). Also, I'm going to disagree with Alayna about belts. If you are curvy, they add bulk in the wrong places! Either opt for fitted pants that don't need a belt or go for suspenders. I've seen so many women styling with them and they are so hot!

To the question of what to wear. I love a pretty jumpsuit. It is what I wear for work in the summer. it's not a dress but makes me feel fancy.

Another thing they didn't really get at with formal clothes is material. I don't know if that's part of the problem for the questioner, but I'll have sensory discomfort with certain materials, stiffened fabrics, etc, so maybe see if anything pops up there that can be avoided. Also, besides looking for aesthetic inspo, maybe check out some fashion explainers who break down basics of fit, color, body type, etc, just to get an idea of what might or might not work from that end (I never learned any of that until I went looking for it).

I'm very surprised Mak doesn't even know Blackfish. I definitely remember the trainer story, not if it was a dolphin or orca but I do remember the overall story.
One of my besties & I groomed each other when we lived together! Especially if you have pimples or blackheads in hard to reach places!
Also pimples aren't just from not washing. I had cystic acne growing up & would over wash because of that idea. It only hurt my skin in the long run! 😮

Dolphins are of the smartest species on Earth. I've taken the recent information (abuse to other species, get high, sex for pleasure and not reproduction, sexual abuse) as a way of thinking they are closer to humans. Humans bully, get high, do horrible stuff to other species.
My first boyfriend wouldn't let me pop his pimples, but every couple months he'd develop a big blackhead on his cheek. I asked him a couple times but he really didn't want me to. And then come Christmas, his mom got him a gift card for a facial and he let the esthetician pop it. So every couple months I'd give him a facial so that he'd at least let someone get rid of it.
I have never bought wireless headphones. Was to some years ago, but never got to it. Wireless require batteries to operate and also drains the battery of your cellphone quickly. Plus the possible interference issues that Ashley mentioned. Wired it is for me!!

A lot of the time you can just remove the shoulder pads without cutting! If you do need to cut, its actually pretty easy to do without compromising the integrity of the jacket.
When I was 10 I had a wasp fly into my ear. My mum had to hold my head still whilst it landed turned around and flow back out again. I had to work so had to not freak out at every buzzing noise. I still cover my ears when I see a wasp.
