I know this is like 4 years late but I’m curious as to how you prevented open throttle surge, I’m considering doing this but trying my best to do as much research as possible. Does the BOV have like a tighter spring to have it vent right before the open throttle surge? How do you combat it?
I had a full custom set up I made myself. It just worked. I ran it for 3 years like it never had any surge issues but honestly can't tell you how it all worked because I don't think it should of lol

The sound is from not having a BOV or BPV and a front mount intercooler. It can be made louder with an intake. The bigger the turbo, the deeper the sututu sound.

@@enriquepolanco100 so what you should be asking, as what power I'm running and what internals I'm using.... because a standard block isn't going to run 800bhp.... but a built one will... mine was running 400bhp with standard internals and I spun a bearing but that was about 2 years after the clip because the engine was at its limit on standard parts and I only really use it on track. So there's alot of questions on the set up, how its built, who built it, hownits used etc
One shetland pony, 2 stallions and a huge donkey. All together put out just shy of 400bhp in this but now I have a whole new build with nearly 600 bhp soon to be 650bhp @scooby.spotter

I tried today to record my turbo flutter, and failed to achieve nice sound, i feel like you need to be a sound engineer with professional microphone 😂 Smartphone inside was to queit, and Bluetooth microphone headphones under the bonnet created horrible sounds 😢
ATTN Public: The noise is from aftermarket spark plugs mis firing and causing your pistons to loosen. This is why you should always use OEM spark plugs with a professional tune. It’s only a matter of time until your engine will collapse from the inside out of you don’t replace your plugs STAT! Good luck white brother.

Is it impossible to get this sound out of a 2013 STI that only has an intake, exhaust, BOV, and accessport?
You Will need 15 psi or more from a gt35r turbo or similar size, 38 mm bov and proper tune for it all.

you will need a gtx3582 turbo, 20+psi of boost and 38mm blow off to let some back pressure return to the compressor blades making that flutter sound.

My stroker 2.1 have rcm rotated gt3582r billet wheel, 32psi boost, 38mm turbosmart vee port, sound very similar.

@@ghostganginc front mount intercooler, no blowoff valve and a tune and you have it (front mounted intercoolers need tunes, pro tunes)
@@hiboost2453 also make sure to get a cold air intake or a pod filter as it will increase the sound by a lot
