Coi Leray makes me so sad because she wasn't always like this. Up until a couple of months ago she used a much deeper voice for rapping and had this really cool tomboy type of vibe. She wasn't great but I always respected her for not relying on her sexuality when performing (theres nothing wrong with that but its nice to have some variation). Like her song Huddy was lowkey a bop and the music video is like the complete opposite vibe of her performances now. The more interviews of her I see the more I realize that shes just kind of a cocky asshole but it does make me sad to see a more tomboyish female artist seemingly be pressured by her label to switch over to a baby voice and start sexualizing herself like this.

Why don't more people just openly admit/feel allowed to admit that they're just not good at freestyling? It's really impressive when people can do it, but being able to do it shouldn't automatically be a measure of someone's talent at rapping. I don't know if this is specific to hip hop/rap as a genre? Because, like, nobody generally expects guitarists to just compose a great acoustic or rock song/solo off the dome. Music can take time and thought, and that's normal.
