Honestly, a part of me can't help but feel a little bad for Omelly here. I don't think a lot people realize just how hard it is to come up with an unwritten, off-the-top freestyle in the moment. It's a challenge, and even some of the elite rappers struggle with it. Now granted, Omelly did ask Sway for another beat, so that's completely on him. It's not an easy thing to do, and I can empathize with Omelly on that level, but he also kind of brought it on himself.
Why go there and try shit you not good at ? Just write a 16 and you good man rather than go up there and make a fool out yourself even better yoi get to a minute and realize you ain’t got it? Pull out ya phone and rap a verse in there or even better rap a verse you know in your head 🤷🏾♂️ it’s countless things he coulda did 😂

I LOVE Omelly's freestyle!! It wasn't perfect, but he had the courage to actually freestyle! He was also able to incorporate a lot of comedic elements to keep it entertaining, which reflects his personality and charisma. He dropped a lot of memorable and quotable one-liners in the process. He was BOLD for taking a chance like that!! Most rappers write and practice their freestyles ahead of time to make their efforts appear seamless. They might change a few words on spot to accommodate the situation, but most of it IS rehearsed. Sway was right when he said Omelly has a Gladiator's heart!! You have to look death in the face and walk towards him, knowing you're going to stumble on the way. Try it for yourself before you laugh at the ones who actually had the courage to do it. Cheers!!
