Yeah! And they should cast Tom Hanks in it :)
And have Paul Greengrass direct it

I absolutely loved watching that scene. I wish I was the one who got to tell him that.
"Disable the pirates" sounds more professional than "vaporize their heads".
chemXal : Vaporizing their heads would certainly disable them! 🤣
I do like the ring of vaporize their heads
I think killing the pirates sounds more professional because they have a hostage in dangered and they are agressive
@Angelique Its not professional to take someone hostage, thats an emotional response
@@Geowolf02 in civilian firearms training the preferred term is "neutralize. " you use enough force to neutralize the threat, and no more. Sometimes that means killing someone, and sometimes it means drawing down (Aka, "pointing your gun at them") and commanding them to drop the weapon, or stop whatever they're doing that's making them a threat. It seems like semantics, but you don't want to kill people if you don't have to, from a civilian side you don't want to end up in jail, and from a military perspective they may have intel you want, among other reasons. So, by using the phrase "neutralize the threat" you're conditioning your guy with the gun to not use more force than he has to in order to do his job.
Three synchronized headshots on bobbing targets from a moving platform at night on Easter Sunday after sitting still for hours......Skills. I still can't believe the pirates were naive enough to think they had any chance once the navy showed up.
No shit! Shooting FROM a moving platform would be challenging enough(though under the ideal conditions I could envision the sheer bulk of the vessel resulting in a rhythmic motion) but shooting from a moving platform onto another moving platform AND synchronizing all three shots?! That's some sick fuckin work right there!
You really think the Navy was that wreckless with Capt. Phillips life? That they would only use 1 sniper per pirate and risk failure on the bobbing sea by taking a headshot? Had you been in command, this would have been your strategy? A human life at risk is no place to look for "skills" accolades... do that at the range. 3 to 4 Seals targeting each pirate.. 9 to 12 men- Each with 50 BMG sniper rifles that can penetrate the lifeboat without deflection. A 50 caliber BMG sniper rifle bullet would leave an exit would the size of a dinner plate. 50 BMG rounds are strong enough to severe limbs. When you are looking for an absolutely certain outcome.. you use a more certain tactic. Don't be fooled by TV show hired "experts".. I would suggest the real encounter was not as risky.
Closeoutracer That's a brilliant tactic private Gump. Instead of 3, .556 rounds, let's put 12, 50 BMG rounds through the lifeboat. Captain Phillips will have a better chance. A better chance of taking a stray round.
Did you have an an AK to your head? Bloody armchair general.
the "no negotiating with terrorists" philosophy helps people go a long way. all these pirates ever look for is a quick payday
The lead pirate is actually brilliant for requesting a medical care. He already knows they're all going to die and it's his only choice to live.
DOC MC brilliant? Lol Idk about that.

This is underrated, three Seal snipers have to all take the perfect shot. Small points of visibility, bobbing boats, and there’s a friendly inside of this small boat. This was a masterpiece.
And yet they could have taken them all hostage and put them in prison instead of killing 3 men for one un harmed life. Educated men versus starving men… who’s the one in control who is privileged? @@g3tshotheett Yea I think so ... I'm currently reading books related to Team Seal Six because of the Operation Neptune's Trident and somehow, the Rescue of Captain Phillips is mentioned alongside it. And I'm talking abt not just one but three books so far.
And yah, I'm reading Robert O'Neils book "The Operator", I skipped the part related to this, but in the part where they have to kill Bin Laden, O'Neil mentioned about this fellow sniper who's also doing the mission with them. @@negrabandida7340They were included in the movie you literally see it happen
Paul Greengrass has 3 pieces of genius that work so well
1 is the fact he goes out of his way to get the facts long before showing the story
2 making sure the story looks as real as physically possible
3 suspense, by using real life events he also is able to give the audience the suspense, even though you know Maersk Alabama will be hijacked, he makes you really hope the pirates don’t get aboard, even though we know United 93 will crash, he makes you really hope very hard they they would be able to pull out of the horrific dive in time
Love Paul Greengrass’s work so much
Just amazing. So much skill involved in just taking one shot but to sychronize 3 simultaneously is just mind bending. True artisans of their craft. Accoring to SOLAS(Safety of Life at Sea) in case of distress for example your ship is on fire that is out of control and you need to abandon ship once you get into freefall boat you have to take 1 seasickness pill immediately and consistently take 1 per day just because you have limited resources out there and you must not throw up if you do throw up you get dehydrated but the water for each person is limited per day until someone from the SAR(Search and Rescue) operation finds you. I am completely honest the "Navy SEALS" always just seemed like some fancy term for yet another battle group but holy smokes does this change my mind. They are lowkey badass and they will complete the mission.
Oh yeah, they are genuinely are something special - and they’re not alone, they just happen to get the most media (Hollywood) attention. Other branches of the military also have elite units (think Delta Force) and other countries also have similar units: UK’s SAS (generally considered the best of the special forces, one of the oldest and most highly trained, many special forces, including the US, are based on the SAS, “ who dares wins”) and SBS, Australia’s SASR, Canada’s JTF2 (“deeds not words”), Norway’s MJK (there’s an iconic picture of them floating around on the Internet of four of them on the back of a zodiac or something in full gear, with netting over their heads, where they look like very intimidating aliens - if you do a search for Norway frogman, it should come up), Israel’s Sh-13, etc.

it's pretty straight forward actually. They are broke, have no education, no jobs and essentially not economy to fall back on. but they got a fuck ton of guns and people hanging around doing nothing. So they do something about their situation which is to become pirates. And based on their track record I'd say they are doing quite well for themselves

The most humble people let their actions speak for them self. Watching this makes me proud to be an American and proud of everyone that protects our freedom at home and abroad may god bless the United States and everyone that serves to protect our freedom.
It's truly remarkable that three guys can shoot at the same time and hit their target. So much was on the line.
