I just bought a battery replacement but no money left to hire a professional to do it... I did get a detailed instruction on how to do it and, surprisingly, how to calibrate it. I didn't know battery calibration is a thing. Should I proceed to do it myself and use this video + the instructions as a guide? Thank you beforehand!
PS: The battery calibration in the instructions said to charge for 5 or more hours and if it reaches 100% it should charge for 2 more hours. I wonder if this method is legit?

regarding your question: i been in this business for over 18 years.. 1st of all follow this guide to replace the battery. the best way to start using the battery is as follow:
      This are "Lithium polymer battery"
#1. place the new battery in the laptop, do not turn on the laptop
#2. plug the laptop to charger and let it charge for 5-6 hours (the laptop should be off)
#3. then you want to disconnect the charger, and power on the laptop, and you need to discharge the battery slowly (no gaming or rendering), put a movie in a loop.
#4. the windows has a option to power down when it hits 15-20% charge (its a safety for the battery) as it's bad to have the battery discharged completely.
#5. once the laptop turned off, (make sure its off and not in standby)
#6. in off state connect the charger and let it charge for another 5-6h
#7. now its best to repeat teh step #3-6 one more time NOT 5 times lol
then use it as you wish.

Hello. I have the ideapad s340 model 340-15 API touch. The battery will not charge, and since it didn't notify until almost ground zero, I didn't have time to troubleshoot. I only know that it has nothing to do with the outlets and probably not the plug itself. What can I do? Is there an alternate way to power it on until I can see what's happening?... maybe a power bank with enough power to turn it on? Thanks!

regarding your question: the laptop will power on with a battery dead or removed. so that only means that your power supply, its weak and needs to be replaced. we do get this very common issue at the store all the time and 90% of the time its a power supply that is weak or dead. note a laptop can operate perfectly fine without the battery.
get a replacement charger from amazon and test it.

Regarding your question, you may have a motherboard circuit issue and you will need to take it to a good technician that can check components. i do repair them but there is no way i can direct you to check the components and show you how to test and replace, also it is not your battery.
NOTE: 70% of the time when this issue appears with my clients it is because of charger that is getting weak and can't handle to keep the laptop powered and charge at the same time.
i recommend you to get a charger from amazon and test it and if it works keep it else return it for free :)

Hi! I actually need the exact same battery and am about to purchase one, on my end my laptop died it won’t turn on i thought it was the charger but I just bought that one 2 months ago and it’s in good condition with no fraying other than that it won’t turn on, I just remember the orange light blinking on the left side by the charger port I kept booting it up, it got to the Lenovo logo then to a black screen and would just turn off after like 3 mins of waiting for it to get to the login screen, I tried this 3 times before it completely died. Do you think there could be any steps I can take to make sure it is for sure the battery that has caused it to not turn on? Someone actually told me a few months ago my battery wasn’t doing so well and that I needed to get a new one I’m hoping this is the main culprit. It might be my only option because my laptop is completely dead haha (i was using a universal charger I wonder if that’s what made my battery die quicker or if my battery was just weak to begin with, my battery always would kinda die really quickly after I unplugged it from the charger maybe this is the reason I’m not quite sure it’s been two years since I bought this computer refurbished if it’s the battery it had a long run I guess haha)

Thanks ✌ for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
Regarding your question: no laptops needs its battery to be able to turn on, and you should NEVER EVER use a universal charger, you have no idea how many people i get in the store because of motherboard fried because using universal chargers, at the beginning nothing happens but with few days or weeks or months of use (depending the laptop) it will take its stress over the motherboard because of the little under volt or over volt and it will damage the motherboard.
you need to do the following:
remove the internal battery remove the HDD and rams, the charger too.
once all removed press and hold the power ON for 60sec.
then place the ram only and use a actual lenovo charger, with the same voltage and the amper the same or higher amp.
and see if you get boot screen (lenovo logo).
if so then check your hdd by placing it in and if the hdd is damaged it may be very s low or if its worse then it will not boot to windows then change the HDD to ssd:
      ruclips.net/video/14suTzLV4_U/видео.html
and at the end worry about the battery, the motherboard and the charger will last longer with battery disconnected, but once all good to goo then plug the battery and see how it reacts.

okay then your problem is with your charger, it happens a lot, when a charger get weak and it can't provide the amps required and when its off or standby the amp is less required. you will need to change your charger. i will recommend you to get a higher amp charger, the higher amp the better and longer it will last. it will not damage at all the laptop.

This was the worst purchase I ever made back in 2018. I had nothing but issues with that piece of junk machine. It was the slowest hunk of junk I have ever owned, lagged more than actually did anything and eventually ended up getting cracked in half across my knee with very litter effort, and is on its way to the landfill. I even tried upgrading the RAM and did nothing more to increase performance. My mother recently upgraded her laptop, and gave me her old one. I am using a 10 year old gateway NV53A from 2010 that has more power and stability than that POS sorry excuse for a laptop. I installed more RAM and bought a new battery pack for it and it works fantastic! I will never own a Lenovo product as long as I live, THAT is for sure!
