if you think he's badass now you haven't seen anything, all the enemies of the first year will seem much more likeable compared to the real enemies and the whole first year will seem just a competition between children,
I would rather call him a sociopath than a psychopath, but this moment at the end was epic. In the light novel he only becomes better at manipulating others and his schemes.

It is logical to assume he was always capable of doing this, but the amount of skill he displays to us readers does grow over time. I think that's why some people think ayanakoji is getting better. He also has to find something about his target that will let him get leverage over them which takes time hence people thinking he gets better, but yeah I agree that ayanakoji was always capable of manipulating everyone. He just has to find their weak spot. >:D
