Had a rheem from 2015 to 2024. Never had a problem until it very recently rusted out. I bought the same exact model in June. Its giving me 7 flashes already...

Thanks. got the 7 blinks and reset successfully. I guess I will need a new valve. I was reading that these valves get flaky if you keep heater above the hot setting. Maybe I can buy some time if I keep it at hot.

Yeah, I’ve heard that too. I run mine between B and C and I’ve never had any issues but I use a Bradford White, valve. Honeywell had a chronic fault code for where the owner decided to run his at a lower temperature. I guess that makes sense if it’s running for less timeto heat the water, but the valves are pretty buggy just in general. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it consider subscribing.

Almost every Water Heater comes with a standard six year warranty from the manufacturer so there’s a sticker on your water heater. It should have a manufacturing date upper right hand or lower right hand corner usually a white sticker somewhere in the center.

Are any of the status codes something hazardous or can you simply reset them all and continue to run it like that?

Code 4 or 9 should be looked at closely , combustion chamber heat is high. I would reset a code 7 for sure , especially if the burner fires up if , not replace the valve! Thanks for watching!

Great tutorial. My honeywell valve is somewhat similar but without the spark ignitor button. It's has a flammable vapor sensor. It's flashing 7 blinks. But the error code sticker doesn't have error code 7. The sticker shows error codes 6 and 8. But not 7. Can it be a defective flammable vapor sensor or the valve? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah, it could be a defective flammable vapor sensor. I’ve heard of that. Also, I think those valves can do multiple codes so you might have a one and then a six.

Hi, how would you read this pattern on the error code sticker?
( Six flashes, three flashes and three second pause. )

@@mark.r8900 so I don’t really work on direct vent which it sounds like that’s what you have so I’m not too familiar with that. I’d probably just look at the manual. I have seen two codes back to back on just a typical atmospheric venting natural gas water heater. it’s not very common. I’d give the Water Heater manufacturer tech-support a call even though it’s the weekend, but I don’t have a lot of experience with the direct vent valves. Wish I could help you more. I do know that the flammable vapor sensors can be a little bit. Bunky and I do know that they tend to do multiple codes. I try shutting the whole thing down and restarting it or maybe try and clear codes if there’s a trick that with that valve, I’m just I just don’t know what it would be. Sorry 😢

@@jessieurgea9899 not sure, but it sounds like maybe you did as long as you can get the burner the main burner to fire up upon starting it even with a seven flash do the reset procedure and it should clear out whether it returns or not. I can’t tell you probably eventually it will, but it may not , sounds like it worked
