I bought this water heater ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8G49mV71sAzUl9shXyLW-r3XgHH9EVh1 for use in my bus conversion. I installed it under my kitchen sink and it is fed by a high efficiency on-demand LP water heater. It is both a backup hot water source as well as a water saving device since we have hot water on demand rather than having to wait for the gas on demand water heater to finish its ignition cycle. I decided on this water heater due to the fact that it only draws 1300watts when it's ON instead of the 1500 watts that most Water heaters this size draw. In an RV a couple hundred watts can be a big deal. With very low standby losses, I don't have to worry about excessive power consumption. When propane is not available for our gas water heater, in conjunction with our low flow shower head there is enough hot water available to shower, albeit we won't be taking "hotel showers." Also very happy with the recovery rate of this water heater. Granted, it is quite small, but it does exactly what we need it to do.

For anyone struggling with status light of 4 flashes - ECO limit - THIS WORKED FOR ME! I turned the heat up past hot, which you're not supposed to do - but why they let you do that is beyond me! Anywho, wake up to no hot water this morning, 4 blinks, about an hour of google-searching later, and this video solved my problem. Bless you!!!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! for sharing this tip. I had by hardwood floor resurfaced over the last three weeks. When I return home after the floors were finished, my gas water would not work. It would only give the 7 flashes you described above. I called the Gas Company today and a service technician came out to check on the unit to see why it was NOT working. He explained the Flame Sensor Lockout feature had shut the unit down and it would not work without a new Lockout Sensor and Control Valve. He said it was caused by the polyurethane they had placed on the floors. He explained, he did not have one in stock but could get one by tomorrow for a cost of $630 installed. I just tried your solution and it WORKED the first time. I now have hot water again. It has worked continuously for the last 6 hours. I will continue to monitor it over the next few days but it looks fixed. I would highly recommend anyone try this fix first before calling a technician!
    Once again, thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this video. I'm a renter, and i wasn't really wanting to call the owner to fix the water heater. After checking to making sure that the gas meter had not been triggered off, i noticed the blinking blue light, and found the water heater manual, and located the 7 flashing 3 second no flashing was the FV sensor. But there was no reset information.
As usual, RUclips to the rescue. Even though my model was a little different, the reset worked the first time!!! Thank you so much for your video.

Perfect! Worked for me. Here are the steps:
    1. Turn Honeywell switch to OFF
    2. Unplug 24V power brick for 10 seconds
    3. Turn Honewell rotary knob to LOW
    4. Plug 24V power brick back in
    5. Turn Honeywell switch to ON
    6. Immediately switch notary knob between LOW & HIGH for at least 3 times
You should hear some beeping noises as the controller initializes and the pilot trying to ignite (how a gas stove would start, zap zap zap sound).
    Thank you!

One more thank you goes your way! The AO Smith manual failed to mention the part about setting the control to the low setting and moving it to the high setting. Cost me three days without hot water and the cost of a new FVS sensor that I now do not need. By the way, I only had to move it once from the Low Setting to High before the water heater fired up. Thanks again.

You just saved me so much hassle trying to figure out how to reset it. I have a slot in the middle of the temp control knob, so I put a screwdriver in it so I could quickly rotate the entire range of the thermostat back and forth. As soon as I hit rotation #7, the heater immediately fired up and the status light went back to normal. Thanks so much!!

Now I hear a very low beeping sound but the LED light blinks normal. I hope the beeping stops once the burner stops.
