Have you had any issues with the back trigger assembly pin backing out? The red dot for the safety indicator is on the tip of a pin, if you have the safety off and pull the trigger a dozen or so times it will back out just a little bit sometimes and when it does you cannot move the slide back or put the safety up until you push it back in, it is positioned exactly inside the slide channel, a design flaw IMO. It happened to me and there is another video on here discussing it. I love the gun, but it is imperative to keep the safety switch in the up/on position so it covers the red dot (pin), doing this will prevent it from backing out.
Love my EC9S so much, partially because of the price. The gun is the best value ever. Also, if you oil the pin, you do not need any tools to disassemble these guns. Just shake the gun and the pin should fall right out.
I have the EC9s with the 7+1 magazine and a 9 round magazine. This has the best striker fire trigger I've ever used. It has fed everything I've fired it it flawlessly.
Need 2 models 1 with hammer 1 without - 1 with thunp safety 1 without Bad engineer! need to resign before other engineers laugh hard to Ruger American faces!!!! So stupid design
Years later, the EC9S is still an excellent firearm. Great trigger, fires any ammo you can fit into it flawlessly with no jams, exceptionally easy to conceal, quite accurate for a subcompact, and EXTREMELY cheap, can find it brand new for $225 if you look. 9 round magazine fixes short grip problem for large hands (but makes it slightly harder to conceal). 9 round mags for this gun are highly reliable. The only shortcoming is the sights, which can be fixed quite a bit with some brightly colored nail polish in orange or yellow. Excellent small pistol for concealed carry on a budget. Will certainly save your life if you need it to. Don’t forget to carry some $10 pepper spray when you carry a gun, so you have options for levels of force
The EC9S was a step down for the 9S series. Depending on the season, I carry a Glock 42 with the +2 mag mod or my LC9S Pro I’ve owned for a decade. You can still get the LC9S Pro, but they are disappearing fast and the price has increased to $419.
I a bit obsessed with making sure my EC9s looks as nice as possible. I did sand the slide down do it was very smooth and for $10 bought some Brownelles Oxpro-Blue and now I have a sweet looking blued finish that looks super nice. Can’t believe how well it works and took about 10 minutes to do. Lots of videos on how to do it. I have touched up my shotgun that I have had for 35 years and it looks like new I also have a 1957 Marlin 30-30 that use to be my Dads he killed one deer in 1970 and found that he has a hard time killing a deer even though he realized it is good for the deer population. I touched up the barrel.Great stuff
Totally agree with you on your take on safety features, and the LC9s Pro. It was actually my wifes carry pistol, I had the Shield and sold it. Started carrying hers. I will probably buy another one one day.
Love my EC9s! Great pocket pistol! Safe enough to carry without a holster. Very accurate. No need for adjustable sites. I did purchase a two pack of extra mags on line for $39 and it's also crossed my mind to possibly drill the front site for the placement of a fiber-optic rod/refill.
Bought the lc9s for my wife for Christmas and she loves it and if you insert the safety magazine for disassembly, you don't have to remove it from the the frame to remove the slide.
I bought the EC9s with fixed sights and found the elevation to be off quite a bit. Shooting from a rest at a measured distance and measuring the distance between the sights showed that the front sight needed to be milled down .028 inches. I then painted the front sight orange and the back sight white. It is now right on target. I also helped a friend zero in his new LC9s and had a problem. The elevation was correct but the windage was not. Closer inspection of the gun showed the front sight loose in the dove tail mount and was moving back and forth. It was so loose that simply pushing on it with my finger made it move. My friend is now deciding if he wants to send it back to Ruger and wait a month or take it to a local gunsmith to shim it tight.
For the price , you can't beat the ec9c. The only real, useable difference is the sights. Although they are not adjustable, mine is spot on at 21 feet. Perfect for that up close, "social work" which its designed for. The only thing I dislike is the takedown, and with most Ruger products, only comes with 1 mag. Great gun overall!
I went through about 50 different handguns for CC before I found the LC9s. It fit my hand comfortably, and is the perfect size for concealed. The Pro model was on sale $10 less than the standard, so bought it, but then found out after getting it about the lack of safety and fire without mag feature. Took a while to find the proper holster so i wouldn't shoot myself in the ass putting it in the holster, but now am very comfortable carrying it and the lack of a safety means it is ready the moment I wrap my hand around it. After 200 rounds or so through it, the slide release is starting to ease up and release with my thumb, but brand new, you have to pull the slide back a little to release it. Now I practice mag drop and insert and release, and finding as I run more through it the easier the release gets. Good little gun, and very accurate at 7 yards. At the point of a 3 second draw with 2 in the chest and one in the head with it. Looks like the main difference between the LC9s and EC9s is the slide, the frame looks the same.
I was ready to order a EC9, you explained the difference with the sights. Thank you. I went for the LC over the EC. Agreed, the ECs is a quality price point. I just want to be able to change the sights if I choose. Very good Sir.
Oh man, I grew up in Westfield. How cool to come across this video! I just got the EC9s as an upgrade to my previous CCW, the LCP. I wanted a full 9mm, as I just don't have a lot of confidence in the punch of a .380. So far, I really like it. The only issue I have is that I can't dry fire without the mag in. The rest of it, I absolutely love.
I rented an EC9S. It shot WAY low. While you can shave the front sight, that's hardly ideal. I'd already decided I was buying an LC9S if I got one (I want tritium sights) but wanted to ensure I actually liked the gun overall before spending the money. Managed to pick up an unfired LC9S on the used market for a good deal, so in the end I got what I wanted. Did remove the magazine disconnect, though, as it complicates the manual of arms in a way that I don't like.
@@WardenWolf The one my husband bought shot slightly low, but not so off that it wasn't easy to correct. Just for a pointing reference on a different experience. 😊👍 That being said, I'd rather have the lc9s.
The safety being on the the non pro version is pointless with these guns as the safety can be left in the fire position. It is firm enough where the safety will not go into safe by itself. The non adjustable sight (on my gun anyway) is dead on accurate out to 15 yards... I picked up my EC9S brand new for a bit less that what was said here. I paid UNDER $200 out the door. I've had absolutely no issues what so ever. Definitely one of the best gun values for concealed carry is the EC9S.
A nice gun for a great price. If it is lost, stolen or damaged it's not a huge deal since it's so affordable. Couple that with the small frame and light weight makes it one of the best carry pistols out there. I initially wanted to hold out for the Sig p365 but I found the pro model for a pretty good price. If I lost a Sig I would be crying for years but if I lost the Ruger my tear time would be cut down to months.
I have a Ruger SR9 and my wife has a Ruger LCP380. Im looking for a smaller 9mm like these. Im considering the EC9 but not liking the solid non adjustable sights. And really dont wont a saftey, as my wifes LCP380 doesnt have safety either.
I have a EC9S and I think it's an excellent gun for the price. I've put 100 round or so through mine and no problems . I was a little concerned about the sights at first but they are dead on I'm glad I made the decision to buy.
IMO, the LC9s Pro is the best choice... This video is not completely accurate with its facts, so do your due diligence... but with that, we have all three, and lately, the ECs and LC9s collect dust. We only carry the Pro. Upgrade the sights with tritium, add some girth to the handle with talon tape and throw the extended mag in and it is and amazing EDC. Again, imo. Side note... the frame is *numbered* and can not be bought separately. Needs to be purchased in desired color, wrapped with colored grip tape or dipped/coated.
Get the LC9s PRO... Amazing EDC. Very accurate... If you write to the Ruger CEO and complain about the one magazine, he will send another one AND a very cool case.
Having paid more for my LCS9 Pro than i would have for the ECS9 was a damned good screwing. Although among the low cost carry guns Ruger is by far and away the best.
LC9s was my first firearm. I totally new nothing about anything I was looking at I pointed and said I’ll take that little one. Ha. I was 23 and it was affordable. This turned out to be the best random decision. All my buddies were getting their conceal carry and I had recently as well. Most of them purchased S&W M&P shield. As we would hit the woods I couldn’t believe how much I preferred my random sporting goods store purchase. It’s a bit snappy but honestly my biggest concern is the damn rattle that the magazine produces because of the mentioned gap at bottom of magazine finger extension. Aside from this it was a great decision. I think back then it was a little more expensive price point. 350 on sale. Get this, I saw it in the NEWSPAPER!
They currently be charging like 350-400 for lc9s. His pricing is off a bit too generous lol. I got ec9s for 216, they are out of their minds charging 400 after/before tax for a gun like this haha. It’s cool, gifted it to first time gun owner
Great information on the video! Just a suggestion for your focus issues: set your focus to a fixed point - don't use autofocus. You can mark the table with a piece of tape, so you know the exact distance from the camera to get the right focus. That way, you can just focus on keeping the gun on the mark, and not worry about the camera being confused about what to focus on. Good luck Marksman!
I have large hands, but I've found this gun shoots so flat that I can get away with using the flat base for the magazine, making it very concealable in my pocket. Also I have the Crimson Trace laser red dot attached and it breaks up the print of the gun on my pocket. Wearing tight blue jeans, my friends have always expressed surprise that I was carrying. This combination has eliminated the need (and hassle) of an ITWBAC holster. I keep the 9rd mag as a spare in a knife case on my belt when I go out, and I never see those alarm bells on people's faces when they notice that Glock 43 or Smith & Wesson M&P Shield in your pocket, both of which *_scream_* "There's a gun in this pocket!". In my opinion, there is no better setup for truly concealable carry that you will always carry, no matter how hot the day, no matter the pants you wear, than the Ruger EC9s with a Crimson Trace attached.
I'm extremely late to the game with ruger. Bought an EC9S and so far love it. I don't really pay attention to the safety switch vs ec9 vs pro. Carried a Taurus G2c for a while and it had a safety switch and never used it. ( I always use a holster) I love the fact that it is so light which is the main reason I went with it. It is easier to conceal. Right out the box I'm just as accurate with this pistol as I am with my others. Great video!
2 weeks ago here. Great gun. Feels so natural in the hand. So sleek with the flush baseplate. I just nail polished the front sight for the sake of my eyes, and I think it's about perfect for everything but shooting in total darkness. I picked up a 2 pack of mags from the mag shack, and a 9 rounder from palmetto. Added up, still, but those were the best deals I could find, with good/decent shipping, and availability (hard to find the extendos)
The magazine release trigger lock is dangerous especially if you are reloading on low ammo. I can also remember one specific case in which a police officer dropped his magazine while shot and was not able to fire the round in his chamber. The gun was a smith & Wesson back in the early 90's. True story.
Howdy from a fellow Hoosier, Just picked up the EC9S at Bass Pro Shops in Portage IN. I hope to hit the range today and spend some time shooting it. I've been carrying the Taurus PT111 G2 and want to stay with 9mm but loose some size and weight for pocket carry. Love the Ruger products and the customer service is amazing !
Galloway Precision sells an aftermarket trigger for the ec9s that's easy to change out. I changed mine out myself,it gets rid of the magazine disconnect and lightens the trigger pull.
This man does a great job telling of this really good 9mm pistol. I have a LC9S pro. No SAFETY. The trigger is the best on this striker fired gun. I think the regular Lc9 is not being made any more the trigger was really bad. Now, This is my CCW weapon. Waited along time to get this gun. Never liked the Shield. Shawn
15:40 I agree that regular training can enhance spatial awareness in stressful situations, such as being in a scenario where someone is attempting to rob or attack you. However, completely eliminating the safety may have a limited impact. This is because, during training, you can choose to use the safety or not, reinforcing muscle memory for both scenarios-using the safety or not using it. The key is practice and sticking with a method that you feel is most comfortable. The safety feature this is certainly a gamechanger for self defense is the elimination of the safety of not being able to fire the gun with the magazine removed. That split second of not being able to fire the gun while swapping out magazine with a round still in the chamber will slow things up if you need to fire. I happen to have the original LC9 with this feature.
Have had my LC9S Pro for about 6 months now. If anyone is thinking of getting one get some new sights. The sights are, in my opinion, worse than Glock standard sights, they are almost impossible to pick up the front sight. I got some TruGlo for mine. For being comparable to a Glock 43, the G43 feels skinny in your hands, the LC9S pro feels good and comfortable. And if people are used to Glocks, the trigger will feel very different. As Glocks have that wall before the break, the LC9S Pro is so smooth that it will surprise you even when you are trying to feel for the break (you can't feel it). The only other addition that is a must for me on the Ruger is Talon grips which made a huge difference. *Note on sights, some have complained about issues getting the front sight out, mine came out too easy. But putting the TruGlo sights on, both the front and rear sights moved through the first 200 rounds so I had to put some Red loctite on both and have not had any further issues since. But overall a very concealable firearm and comfortable to carry. I carry this on work days and days wearing shorts, but will always carry my Glock 26 on any day I wear jeans because of ammo capacity as my G26 has 12 + 1 compared to the 7 +1 in the Ruger.
Single mag and long trigger travel just killed it for me. Excited to check out the new Mossberg. So far im leaning towards the XDs but im optimistic about the mossberg.
Cross bolt safety....if you want a safety.... it is idiotic as an optional offering on the Mossberg. Why not a 1911 design lever like the LC9S series here? Really?....a cross bolt button to push that is near the mag release button you can push? What POSSIBLY can go wrong? Besides, this is not a sporting shotgun or a Marlin 60 .22LR.... crossbolt safety...idiots.
Excellent comparison. Most folks would consider this a 10m or closer self defense weapon..not a range gun that needs sights for anything further (except maybe a laser) for accuracy. And besides, elevation adjustment is not available anyway, so why purchase the L or L Pro? The only argument would be the Safety. It is redundant with the L and Pro considering the trigger design, but whatever. It only amounts to keeping production costs down as far as the manufacturing process. Great review..even though you didn't show its performance on the range. Thanks!!
Thanks, great review. Was going down the lroute with a Lcp 2 , but was concerned with some feed issue reviews, and the caliber .380, now I'm liking the Ec9s 9mm more, I just hope it's smaller than my Taurus g2c . Great price locally Lcp2 $250 and Ec9s $218. I'll be checking out both.
The Taurus g2c is a double stack which is much heavier and thicker than the EC9s. For open carry I would take the Taurus but for concealed carry the EC9s is lighter to carry.
Re: Safety--always train to kick it off when you draw the pistol. This way, even if the gun is carried off and somehow it gets accidentally kicked on, you are taking if off when drawn. EZ PZ.
I have the LC9 and it is the most natural point shooting gun I have ever fired. I would like to get a second one. At 15 yards I can get 5-6 round center of mass every time. I modded mine to remove the magazine safety as I thought if I was in a tussle and the mag dropped I would be SOL. Thanks for a great review.
*NOTE to Owners! * DO NOT Use the steel case 9mm ammo. Cases get stuck once in a while in chamber. I have over 1500 rounds on mine and have issues with tula, and Winchester steel USA 150 ROUND BOX! EVERY TIME .I have also kept my chamber clean. Never a problem with any brass 9mm.
Have a LC9S and the trigger is way better than the Glock 43 I also own. It's so much better than in my judgement it requires a safety. It's become my daily carry because it's in rotation with my Ruger 9mm 1911 so I'm always carrying a gun with a safety. I train constantly with my carry firearms and am confident swiping down the safety has become a reflex as the firearm is drawn. But it's taken a lot of practice to get to that level. My rationale has been trigger control. I know with single stage 1911 and the very light striker trigger on the LC9S I can quickly hit what I'm looking at under pressure. I also agree the EC9S is a much better option than the comparable Taurus and SCCY offerings.
I have and enjoy my LC-9s. But at the start, you mentioned the orange "dummy mag" briefly, as if it was a needless extra. Well, I keep my 3 mags loaded and if I need to take down my piece, that "dummy mag" is an essential tool. If someone got careless when watching you stick a magazine into the grip so you could pull the trigger for take-down, then BANG-oops! The manual features the orange dku
I prefer the look of the EC9s over the others. That’s why I got one for myself just wish the ec9s didn’t have the external safety. But it has a positive click so you can just run it with the safety off since it as a trigger safety.
Excellent comparison. I owned the original LC9 and moved to the LC9s. Loved the platform but hated the no fire with mag removed. Saw the LC9s Pro as a great improvement but did not move on it. I would have if it had been available at the time. I see some real potential in the newer, EC9s but I agree, Ruger needs to do an upgrade to a fire with empty mag. Sold my LC9s and replaced with the Sig P369. But your price point difference on a really quality gun is more than just a little valid. Plus, I have had first hand experience with Ruger when it has come to performance/manufacturer issues. They are great on customer service. I believe they will come out with a pro or similar upgrade on the new model also. Again, great video.
East Coast Charlie usually, there is a way to defeat the mag disconnect safety, not sure on the LC9 platform, often find video instructions on RUclips, yea 1st amendment
I prefer the ec9s because of something that's small I really don't use the sights anyway. I also like the fact that they have a full length rail to ride on
It's not so easy to find a LC9S Pro new anymore. I found one online and bought it. Cost me $330. I feel I over paid for it, but I wanted it. I could have found one used for $250, but I don't like buying used guns. You never know how many thousands of rounds went through one. So I get my pistol and guess what ? It's defective. The magazine release gets stuck and you have to play with it to release the magazine. I had not even fired it. Makes me think that it got passed over by many due to this, and because I didn't get to see it until after I bought it, it was my problem. Probably why it was still available. Ruger was pretty nice about it, sending me a Fedex person to pick it up and send it back. It took about 2 weeks. The repair note stated that they replaced the release spring. My question to them was how could they have sent this out from the factory like this ? What kind of quality control do they have ? And they noted that they shot the pistol 21 times to test it. And guess what ? They never cleaned it after they fired it. That was not right. After not having the pistol for 2 weeks and having to be home all day for 2 days to sign for the pistol, now I had to start cleaning it. But I do love the pistol.
Nice side by side by side look at all three! After owning an LC9spro for a while... I actually would prefer some of the features on the new EC9s such as the more aggressive slide serrations as well as the fixed sights. However, I don't like the magazine disconnect at all. This is a pocket carry for me, and I'd rather have the extra "roadblock" safety... exactly because of the physiological changes accompanying stressful situations where my finger and the trigger might not be in synch. Or, I'd prefer a heavier trigger such as my LCP because of its built-in safety feature for pocket carry. Thanks for a good review!
One should NEVER buy a conceal carry because of the sights it has. You should be training without using ur sights. If there is enough space between you and the perp where you think you will need ur sights to strike them, then by law in most states, you have the time to run away.
I used to think the LC9S Pro was the best EDC gun I ever owned. I even got others that trusted my resume and 30 years experience to get one, only to all of our disappointments.. Between 250 and 500 hundred rounds everyone had things breaking. Mine was the recoil rod and spring assembly. For two others it was the trigger spring, and others mag release etc. Embarrassing and disappointing to say the least. I have since fallen on my sword and will be carrying my G-43 until I have enough time and rounds through my Sig P365 to feel confident in it. Sorry Ruger, but when you build a gun to a certain price point, this is what happens. On a positive note, the Redhawk and GP100 are tanks!
I got an LC9 and put a trigger doing kit in. The was used when I bought it. I wonder if there is a quality difference between the LC9 and LC9s. Also I have a GP100, what a tank.
virgil putz how was youre experience with the P365 is that youre daily carry now or pocket pistol or what would you say as of now is the best pcket gun in youre opinion Thanks. I just cant decide everytime i decide on one it seems like theres problems in almost everyone that i like as the ruger lc9 or the p 365, I own a German made HK usp 9 i know its pricey but i am confident with it only problem is its Bulky and they dont make anything small enough that i am looking for which is pocket carry. Revolver like the 642 is another option but the 5 shot capcity and reloading time delay issue is what pulls me away from that.
@@nickyfrmda414 Many after market mags are not that good, In my reference, the Ruger 9 rounder is a RUGER mag--not made for Ruger by another company. Unless it is a Mec-Gar, who makes mags as brand originals that ship with the firearm new--for many makers.
I have a kel tec pf9 I must have gotten a good one because for about 5 years I have not had no jams no problems not selling mines it is a keeper for sure and I have the lcp 9 nice gun great video.
I don't carry with a round in the chamber. I also stay away from places that are known to be dangerous. Proper training is the key. Any firearm used to protect oneself will only end up in an evidence locker so why spend lots of money on a fancy expensive pistol that won't work any better? Reliable and usable for the shooter and easy to train with and carry is most important.
I purchased the ec9s two days ago and put 250 rounds through it. Had one failure to feed with two rounds left in the magazine. The other thing i noticed was with rounds in the magazine, hitting the mag release does not eject the magazine. It drops down about half an inch and gets caught.
I dont know why magazine disconnects are a thing. But after shooting my wifes lcp I'm thinking about getting an ec9s. Great little guns for the price. But I do need to shoot the lcp some more as I did have some ejection issues. I hope it works itself out as I dont want to send it back to ruger
Plus mags aren't that expensive I have two 9 rounders and two 7 round mags for my pro after two years of carrying it I don't even remember how much they cost. But the spare is always nice to have. 😊
Ruger suck...with 1 magazine??? common USA..You guys rich, you guys can do better than this..Paper box??? common American engineers?? How much a year do you guy made??? DESIGN SUCK FROM THE BOX TO THE GUN!
@@ThepDenNgoaiBien You've clearly never owned one and just want to bitch. Also, cost of living makes many Americans poor. $1USD doesn't buy a whole house, here, like it does in your country.
I have the LC9s and & LC9s pro. I like the adjustable sights that are easy to pick up. I don't have the EC9s, but I imagine it would be tougher to shoot it at long distances due to the non adjustable sights.
That fake mag is good for when you are disassembling the gun. You don't need to pop the clip in and out. It's really a pain in the ass if you don't have an empty mag laying around and need to unload one so you can pull the trigger in order to take the slide off. I believe that is the whole purpose of the fake mag.
Thanks for explaining the difference, I will be buying an EC9 today and being on a fixed income, I love the price!! Is the EC9s easy to rack?? I bought a Ruger 380 lcp that is very difficult to rack
after my prolonged analysis as to what constitutes as a good small pocket gun, i feel like a kimber 6 xs or a smith and wesson 442 or similar model is ideal. the small semi autos are comparable in capacity to the revolvers, and theyre alot less reliable than revolvers. thats why, at that size, i think a small revolver is the best option.
I have the LC9S pro. Thought the grip was a little thin for big hands. Put a Houge Hardball slip on grip. It's perfect now. Can anyone tell me the name of the night sights and wear to get them and the cost? I think it would be a great up grade for this nice shooting pistol. I know the Lc9 trigger gave this pistol a bad name. But Ruger did there home work. Now the trigger is AWSOME. Just don't like the Shield at all. Shawn.
I won a GB auction for a newLC9s pro 2 days ago for $236 but I still have to pay shipping and transfer so I'd say I'm only getting it slightly below average retail price.
The frame is numbered, and therefore can not be replaced as Federal Law considers it a firearm. You can add a colored grip to the frame, buy a Lc model in the color you want or have it coated...
I bought the ec9s for my daughter and liked it so much I went back and bought one for me. My edc.
Try adding a Hogue grip, I did on mine and it helps a lot in grip and recoil. I found it on Amazon for about 10 bucks.
@@alfredocarpaneto5976 No issues whatsoever

Love my EC9S so much, partially because of the price. The gun is the best value ever. Also, if you oil the pin, you do not need any tools to disassemble these guns. Just shake the gun and the pin should fall right out.

Exactly. Keep it clean and the pin will fall out with a little shake (once the tab is pushed down and you pull the slide back that little bit).

I purchased an EC9s. Great little Pistol. I also have the LCP .380. I am a Ruger fan. In the past I had a P95. One of the best guns I have ever owned.
💯!
I just won an EC9s at whitetails. Thanks for the crash course. You definitely know your stuff.

i got rid of my EC9S about 5 days ago and i just got my LC9S yesterday. the different in finish is a big difference. i'm glad i got the lc9s now.
Totally agree with you on your take on safety features, and the LC9s Pro. It was actually my wifes carry pistol, I had the Shield and sold it. Started carrying hers. I will probably buy another one one day.
Recently bought my first firearm Lc9s & I am absolutely in love with it. Thanks for your detailed breakdown of all 3 guns.
Where did you find it, they aren't making them anymore for some reason; people loved them
@@notmyrealname3462 I just purchased from shoot point blank a lc9s
@@notmyrealname3462 bought mine brand new for 260$ with two 7 round mags and a 9 round mag in NH last week. Lucky find

Nice job comparing the 3 models with trade offs, etc. Thx
No holster of some kind... pocket lint.

The Pro version comes with 2 mags, I paid 262.00 out the door.

Apparently this is dealer discretion, not manufacturer benevolence.

It's a slide lock, and the difference in ec9 and lc9 is sights are adjustable on lc9
I prefer the safety. The ec9s and the lc9s are my choice.
I carry the pro quite a bit it is a great pocket pistol.
Having paid more for my LCS9 Pro than i would have for the ECS9 was a damned good screwing. Although among the low cost carry guns Ruger is by far and away the best.
Thanks for the comparison i was thinking of the Lc9e but because of the slide is non-fixed i rather have HI-Viz sights
I'll go with the LC9s
It’s cool, gifted it to first time gun owner
bro this is exactly how i chose mine lmao i just loved how it looked and i’m glad i bought it. It’s perfect for my smaller frame
I just purchased an EC9S as my first handgun and am very satisfied with it.
Very helpful comparison of the models. I hope there's eventually an EC9s Pro without the mag and thumb safeties.
I am right handed but left eyed. Sometimes a sight adjustment is a plus. I just bought a LC9s pro for 265.00 here in Va.
I have the EC9S. I love it. Great carry gun and love the $$$
The magazine release trigger lock is dangerous especially if you are reloading on low ammo. I can also remember one specific case in which a police officer dropped his magazine while shot and was not able to fire the round in his chamber. The gun was a smith & Wesson back in the early 90's. True story.
I heard police like mag safety because if someone tries to grab the firearm the can disarm the firearm be pressing the mag release
I carry the EC9s everyday but I did buy a 9 round mag made by Ruger. I love it! I can't say enough good things about this gun.
I was born in Prescott!!!!
Yavapai county for life....
Springfield, Missouri right now though;)
My wife and I both have the LC9S. They shoot and work great. It's what I carry for our Church Security team.
Shawn

I agree that regular training can enhance spatial awareness in stressful situations, such as being in a scenario where someone is attempting to rob or attack you.
I love my LC9S. Perfect carry and glove box. Thinking of buying EC9S for mom's purse. This video helps.
@Weed Man get the 9, bro.
Great review.spot on..i own these precious little jewels and enjoy shooting them.i think you did an amazing job, thank you and keep up the good work.
EZ PZ.

Yeppp! Great advice! That's what I do and it takes no extra time.
I haven't even used the safety on mine yet haha dnt even kno if it works
Exactly
I have the LC9 and it is the most natural point shooting gun I have ever fired. I would like to get a second one.
At 15 yards I can get 5-6 round center of mass every time. I modded mine to remove the magazine safety as I thought if I was in a tussle and the mag dropped I would be SOL.
Thanks for a great review.
Besides the LCpro...Can you swap the LC Slide with the EC body?
@@high5acresfarm
Mybe if you buy one of each but you can't but individual slides or frames.
*NOTE to Owners! *
DO NOT Use the steel case 9mm ammo. Cases get stuck once in a while in chamber. I have over 1500 rounds on mine and have issues with tula, and Winchester steel USA 150 ROUND BOX! EVERY TIME .I have also kept my chamber clean. Never a problem with any brass 9mm.
I have 2, 1 with crimson trace laser. I shoot both often and very happy with the original design…no complaints
The EC9S is perfect for a "kitchen" gun stuck to the frig with a magnet holster. It can get you to your better pistol or rifle. I love it.
Tons of debates on this, but I'm like you and like having a manual safety when carrying.
I like that the pro fires without the clip but not having a safety sucks cuz then i would be hesitant to carry 1 in the chamber
I recommend getting a rubber trigger stop, at least till you get comfortable with no safety.
Just don't pull the trigger that's your safety
I'm seeing the LC9s at nearly the same price online.
I also like the fact that they have a full length rail to ride on
I have the lc9s pro no need for the ec9 the pro is the best version discontinued glad I picked that up when I could
It's not so easy to find a LC9S Pro new anymore.
Great upload, the Pro version comes with 2 magazines, a bargain for the $$$.
My LC9s Pro came with only one, and the reviews always list 1. Just saying.
JUNK NOW MADE IN THE USA!!!! WHY 3 MODELS NON SENSE LIKE THIS!
PRICE DIFFERENCES!
One should NEVER buy a conceal carry because of the sights it has. You should be training without using ur sights. If there is enough space between you and the perp where you think you will need ur sights to strike them, then by law in most states, you have the time to run away.
I love my Ec9s
Great video. Thanks. You answered every question and concern I had.
I'll take all 3, but I need a cheap little firearm, so when I cut lawns, n go to work
I used to think the LC9S Pro was the best EDC gun I ever owned.
Has anyone here that owns an Lc9 ever pulled it out and adjusted for windage?
windage at 7 meters is very important.....how else can you hit the broad side of the barn?
Hell yeah I did. The bad guys in my neighborhood are quite courteous.
I have. I bought night sights and I had to dial them in so suck it, pogs
Exactly!
I missed the barn, and I was inside the barn when I shot at it.
I had the lc9 took it to the range and got rid of it after... I might give one of these a try👍
Re: rounds--get Ruger's 9 rd. mag and you have 10 rounds. This gun is easier to carry/conceal than a Glock 26 and others.
Those 10rd mags jam
@@tdurden9532 good to know. Probably better to put in 8 rounds.
The EC9s also costs about 1/3 the price of the Glock 26. I love Glocks, but they're not going to have a gun to fill every purpose or carry situation.
T Durden true, bought a 10rd aftermarket mag, mine jams. Just stick to regular mags now.
@@nickyfrmda414 Many after market mags are not that good, In my reference, the Ruger 9 rounder is a RUGER mag--not made for Ruger by another company. Unless it is a Mec-Gar, who makes mags as brand originals that ship with the firearm new--for many makers.
I have a LC9s - love it - it is my everyday carry gun
Great, honest, to the point review. Thanks for the information.
Had an LC9S for quite some time. Getting rid of the mag disconnect was no big deal. ;)
Love the video because I’m looking into this type of hand gun for the first time very informative video will be purchasing one or all three gun soon
I dont know why magazine disconnects are a thing. But after shooting my wifes lcp I'm thinking about getting an ec9s. Great little guns for the price. But I do need to shoot the lcp some more as I did have some ejection issues. I hope it works itself out as I dont want to send it back to ruger
Good review! Nice comparison video - answered all of my questions
Plus mags aren't that expensive I have two 9 rounders and two 7 round mags for my pro after two years of carrying it I don't even remember how much they cost. But the spare is always nice to have. 😊

Thank you for the professional review. Excellent work. Subscribed.
I have the LC9s and & LC9s pro. I like the adjustable sights that are easy to pick up. I don't have the EC9s, but I imagine it would be tougher to shoot it at long distances due to the non adjustable sights.
I have the Pro! One of the best triggers ever! Great video!
That fake mag is good for when you are disassembling the gun. You don't need to pop the clip in and out. It's really a pain in the ass if you don't have an empty mag laying around and need to unload one so you can pull the trigger in order to take the slide off. I believe that is the whole purpose of the fake mag.
surprised how distinctly better
I shot the ec9s compared to g43
and other single stack micros
-- great trigger especially for
having a mag safety
Well Glocks shoot like shit anyway so that's a pretty low bar to surpass
I love my LC9S stays with me 24/7 I have 3 clips 7+1 and is always ready to go
Bought new LC9s 2 years ago. Sent back for misaligned sights. Misfire at 1-2% constantly. Ruger good customer service overall.
Thanks man now i kno the diffrence i i didnt even kno which one i had bu i have the pro great video
