  • In 1989, Granada TV cameras came to my school - Hesketh Fletcher in Atherton, near Wigan, UK, to make a programme about choosing options. They filmed and interviewed us on a normal school day, to ask us what subjects we might take for GCSE and how we would decide. Here is a snippet, featuring the dedicated man on a mission Neil Rico, the torn-between-two-subjects Peter A, as well as Jayne F, and young Samuel and Helen - old heads on young shoulders. Oh, and some young media cynic who wanted to follow in Quincy's footsteps.
Warning: this film contains strong Atherton and Leigh accents.
Trivia: It is introduced by broadcasting legend and Manchester hotshot Tony Wilson, well known for his work with New Order, Happy Mondays, and for excellent narration on such projects as the amazing wrestling documentary, Catch The Hold Not Taken.

I have fallen in love with you all over again......it's the hair I think....or maybe the Quincy reference......or perhaps the early cynicism of the media.....
