I've seen better costumes at the Volksoper in Vienna. admittedly it was a different opera: they put the villain of Tosca in pants and a cape--no shirt. that would have worked here, but if we were just to look at him without the music, who would have guessed that's our hero?! it's the costume one expects of an extra!
