Men, pay attention to the part where she says "we've been upset for a while"....most women aren't out there losing their minds over tiny, dumb things. Right before her head explodes, the 150th enraging thing just happened and her head has reached maximum capacity for holding in her feelings...tick tick tick BOOM 💥🤯 As a rule, women are peacemakers, so we try not to rock the boat over little things and we hold in our emotions until they reach critical mass
So, my girlfriend (who is now, like Lynn Koplitz was at the time of this piece, 47 years old) takes a long time to pee. I understand... It's part of age, having given birth, etc. Doesn't speed things up, but it is normal.
The other night, she woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Her stirring, coupled with my own need to pee, woke me up. I happened to notice the time - 2:13. She came back at 2:31.
The next day, I remarked that I happened to notice that it had taken her 18 minutes.
*BOOM*
It was like I had walked into a Taliban ambush without realizing I had been teleported to Afghanistan. I found myself on the business end of an angry rant like you wouldn't believe.
Then, she abruptly left the room... to cool down, I thought.
I was mistaken.
She went to the bath room to pee and use the time (only 8 minutes, that time) to come up with some more shit to say. "And, another thing, motherfucker....."
After she calmed down, and I apologized (for, ummm, well... because she told me I was sorry), we actually laughed about it. I told her the next day that I was considering at the time, letting her know that her tirade had lasted 26 minutes, in total.
Having decided that discretion is the better part of valor, I chose not to do that.
You deserved every minute! 😆

In my defense, 18 minutes is a long wait when you really gotta pee.
