These comments have no sense. This lineup was built around Faker and as showed in different matches, the decision making and map movement Faker has, it affects the success of T1. Without all of that, T1 is nothing, 1 of the reasons they lost. If you watch the previous MSI, Yagao who was also making clutch plays and outplaying Faker in teamfights, he was matching and disrupting Faker's map movement.
Fakes was the weak link in T1 chain. You always target the weak link.

What's crazy is BLG literally said we can still win vs you in every other lane, we just have to shut down T1's mid prio and roaming picks. They let Ashe open, they let Kalista Varus Senna open, they let every other jungle and top pick open.
And by the same implications, "we have less of a chance of winning vs a Faker with any of these banned champs then a T1 with any of the champs we didn't ban" 😅

The worse part is BLG shutdown Faker's roam/play making champ.
And T1 falls into a dilemma situation where taking Ksante means no engage/frontline while taking Zac means facing Ksante that their bot & mid can't peel through.
T1 did mistake banning ahri in game 4. Leave ahri open so u can first pick it. If BLG decides not to ban taliyah, then u have Ahri vs Taliyah which is a good matchup for the ahri apparently, as when T1 was red side they were perma banning ahri, they could have left ahri open on red side and then knight can first pick ahri and t1 can respond with taliyah, but apparently T1 thought that taliyah is not a good answer to ahri, so if that's the case, why not leave ahri open on blue side in game 4 so that u can first pick it and then BLG's best response is to not ban taliyah and respond with taliyah, then u get the ahri vs taliyah matchup u were trying to avoid on red side in previous games. If BLG bans taliyah anyway u first pick ahri and now they're screwed. If BLG bans ahri u first pick taliyah and now they're screwed. So ahri vs taliyah was T1's best shot to play through mid, so clearly it's a good matchup if T1 was trying to avoid this matchup on red side by banning ahri. The ahri ban on blue side makes 0 sense. If ahri is so good vs taliyah which is why u banned it on red side, then why not play it when u're blue side? Or does T1 say "knight's ahri is insane and we don't trust faker's taliyah to do well against it, but faker's ahri is not insane and we don't trust faker's ahri to do well against knight's taliyah"

BLG respect to none, they knew it ever since Shaker played other champs than Azir and Ori and he will be hardly choke and then they forced him way harder since the low mechanic he has. Even T1 players know that their mid is sucks, so no need to respect from both side.

Not really, it's extremely rare to ban only one role. It's basically a double-edged sword strategy. It relies on the other lanes not performing on their preferred picks, which in this case is what happened. The strategy fully shuts down a single role, with the player not being able to do much of anything.

That’s kind of the joy of Lane Swaps, it becomes a game of prediction, they can also swap out of it the moment they see it.

If T1 manages to play against BLG again in this MSI, I think one of the two things happen. Ahri is left on Blue Side if T1 picks B, so Faker has something to play, if BLG sticks to this kind of banning, or they play set up mid champions, I know Neeko got gutted, but like if theres one champ thats honestly really good in my mind with just how T1 plays its Neeko. Or Or, the other good Set Up Champ GALIO, I thought he got buffed? No one just wanna play it or something? The disgusting KSante champ has ruined top lane cuz now you have to accomodate playing against it every single game its disgusting.

Statswise you can say Guma or Keria are the best players on T1, but you saw what happened when Poby played and Faker was out for some games. The pressure on map and knowledge on the game overall, he's still the best player in the world.

It’s good but the problem is the lane swaps. How can he survive lane ganks if 3 of them gank him before lvl 6? I think TF mid might be better because ap tf has long range wave clear which I think t1 should have done game 3. When they got the TF they should have played it mid after BLG picked jax and play a counter to Jax. Maybe they thought they would lack damage late game but I mean they had the senna so I don’t understand

Fun fact: Xun also got 5 jug bans versus t1 in 2023 msi and he won. 5 bans has never been an excuse of losing the game, especially for someone who can play 80 or so champs. This means t1 without faker is just rudderless.

Zed is ass right now in higher elo's unfortunately. Faker is kind of to be blamed for that though. Riot nerfed him several times because of Faker, the same with Ryze and Galio

I think people are not realising the real strat of BLG, their target ban is not because they fear some one but they just prefer to make one of the enemies lane completely useless rather than banning 1/2 for each lane wich alot of times are useless since pro players have a gigger champion pool than just 2/3 champs.

You target ban when the playayer is weak (aka can perform only on limited champions).
Otherwise, if the player is strong, you're just wasting bans because they're going to pick another champ where they will perform good anyway.

Ehh she's not that good right now. She was great during LCK playoffs but doesn't quite fit the MSI meta. Humanoid got away with it against weaker teams but TES floored him on it.

Smart move but at the same time a COWARD move.
The target bans worked though. Faker's corki looked awful in game 1, basically solo lost early game. In game 3 he continually got caught out on veigar with flash up. In game 4 that akali was invisible, just spent the entire game sitting under turrets catching waves before failing to shroud in the BLG jungle invade and costing T1 baron, which broke open the game. Faker is the goat, and always will be, but he was by far the worst player on T1 that series and the main reason they lost.

t1 playstyle heavily relies on champs that are useful for teamfights, it's common that faker uses champs that are useful for teamfights....
And after he gets banned 5 of the champs he basically solo win every game with, some people say faker is the weakness of T1
This tournament isn't on T1's favor at all. Zeus can't pick his champs due to lane swap meta, faker's picks gets banned a lot, and only Keria and Guma's the one who has a chance.
RNG in 2022 also disrupted all T1 had to offer by shutting down the early game of Faker.
WBG tried that in 2023, but TheShy losing hard 1v1 or 1v2, it ruined that plan.
Why not pick tristana for faker at 3 ??
T1 thought getting Oner comfort is more important. Like if they pick Trist - Oner just gets Xin and Lee Sin banned against him.

Faker is the goat and still and amazing player, but BLG targeted him cause his current champ pool is small. Pushing him to his fringe picks he's not played much recently is a solid strategy.
(I'm not saying he's not good on other champs, but he's no where near the same threat on those other ones).
