- Join me for the original live tour of our old Alsatian-style country house in Virginia! Days away from moving out of our beloved house I shared this home tour. The video is shot vertically as it was downloaded from social media and includes dialogue with live viewers.
This house is perfection to me!
Thank you so much!! 🤗🤗🤗
Beautiful!!!
I understand your thinking how everything is so beautiful and practical; I have a big family also.
Thank you so much! All the best to you & yours! 🤗
Lots of great ideas for people with kids!
Thank you!!
Love the house! On another note, I’m wondering if they’re using a cell if the video would look better if they were to flip the phone 📱 sideways. This view doesn’t give the house any justice ☺️ lovely home.
Thank you so much! This was a download of a live instagram tour so it had to be vertical but we do most videos (that aren’t from IG) horizontally. We have some new house tours up if you’re interested 🤗
I loved that house! Thanks for sharing on youtube. 🤍
Thank you so much! ❤️
Great humble house tour, enjoyed it a lot, great design! Could you please share what paint you used in the kitchen so you can easily clean it. Thank you.
Aw thank you so much! It’s Benjamin Moore’s matte finish. (Snow on the mountain is the color) 🤍
I can't say enough, about what you've done with this home. You have such a good eye architecturally, finishes, everything. I love it so much! You said the drywall surrounds in the kitchen were finished with a skimmed coat to look like old plaster; how were the rest of the walls in the house finished? Did you use a
Iime wash paint? What paint brand do you like? Even through the video the quality of the finish of the walls comes through.😍
Thank you so much! 😊 The rest of the house had normal drywall/ paint (Benjamin Moore snow on the mountain.) if we’d had the budget I probably would have used a true plaster (first choice) or a lime paint (second choice) but I was really happy with the flow we got from the paint color. 🤍
@@LaurenLiessTVWow, Benjamin Moore, that's so reaffirming! I always use Benjamin Moore paints, because the finish is superb. Snow on the Mountain, it's beautiful in your videos - white, clean, yet warm and inviting! Who could say a white paint has so much character! I just painted my living room. dining room, kitchen, in my apartment that only gets the morning sun and one very small bath room that has no windows with Benjamin Moore Cloud Cover and I love it. It brought a previous dingy, depressing space to life. I am also one by one sanding all the orange peeled doors down to a satin smooth finish and painting them with Cloud Cover. Currently working on prepping the walls of my bedroom by sanding them before painting, because they are very orange peeled as well. Oh Lauren, you made my day, thank you for responding and fulfilling my curiosity. I thought I was the only one that cared so much about finishes. You have made the finishes of your home into a beautiful canvas on which the objects you place are allowed to tell their unique story. 🤩😍
Sounds so beautiful!! 😻 thank you so much!! Xo
Love this. There is a chat gpt app that can remove sound from the background.
Oh really that’s amazing!! Thank you so much!! 😊
I love your vanity in the master bath! Do you mind saying where you purchased it from? Thank you!
Thank you! It’s by Keriya on Etsy 🤍
Love! What are the dried florals on your bar piece?
Thanks! Wildflowers from our yard 🤍
What type of windows are in the living room that open ?
Old French casement windows 🤍
Love your videos but you move the camera so fast it upsets my stomach-can only watch a little at a time
That noise.....is a no for me.
I love your aesthetic but will never understand why Americans copy European style? It's so unauthentic, it just says 'theme park' rather than home to me. Beautiful, yes, but why base your design on something that belongs to another country? Don't American homes have their own American identity?
The family who built the home was born/ raised in Alsace and wanted to recreate a home like the ones they grew up in. 🤍 my guess is because it made it feel more like home to them/ was nostalgic etc. Our next home’s style will be a combination of this home and a modern home we lived in because they were our two favorite homes to live in and being in that environment makes us feel good. When we decided to buy this home from the French family, I fell in love with it because it reminded me of my family’s village in Italy and reminded me of loved ones and the way of life my family always lived. It might help to understand that Americans (many of whom are first or 2nd generation) have a strong connection/ love for the country they came from and so being in surroundings that feel familiar/ harken back to that makes them happiest at home. 🤍
