Too much time in kitchen
Just beautiful! Did you mention what wood was used for the interior arched doors?
Thank you so much! They’re white oak 🤍
Raising the ceilings is EVERYTHING! I cannot imagine not having the vaulted ceiling. Also, love the cantina window.
Gonna be a sick house can’t wait to see the end product
Thank you so much!!
You moved into the house! Wow! So happy for you all. I was waiting in anticipation for the next video to drop hoping you were going to get to move in before Christmas. God Bless you and yours. ❤❤❤
Aw, thank you!!! We’re so happy too! 🙏🙏🙏
Your home is gorgeous 😊😊
Thank you so much! 🥰🙏🙏
Beautiful home and a beautiful family. Happy New Year! ❤

The sink! The nativity scene. Just stunning!
Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Happy New Year. Enjoy 2025 and be well. Looking forward to seeing your ideas come to fruition…your casa is marvelous!
Happy New Year to you too! Thank you so much!! 😊
Me too. This sneek peak is sooooo cool! Love the cubbies in the mud room. Cant wait to see the finished house. Happy new year! 🎉❤
Love the idea of looking out the window! And windows that open towards the inside are so dreamy!! Ok, one practical question for the outdoor shower and bathtub with a view on the main floor with teen boys……. Do you shower/bath when kids aren’t home and at school? Or do you just tell them to not look out the window or go in backyard when you’re bathing?
Hahaa Good question! mostly, Yeah we do just say- we’re taking a bath- don’t go around that corner do the property if you don’t want to be scarred for life!! 🤣🤣🤣 but we have window treatments if we need them for when guest are visiting etc.
Also, are yall planning to add a garage down the road? Can’t wait to see the video of the finished home!! Love all of the charming kids spaces you planned …..I have 5 kiddos too and have always dreamed of a hidden toy room or library with a Narnia wardrobe opening!
Yes, a garage is in the plans though will be a ways down the road to recoup financially 😉 thank you so much!! 🫶

Thank you!! 🙏🙏🙏
Love seeing sneak peeks of the house! It looks different than I imagined, but only because it looks like a historical structure inside….not an easy feat with new work. Beautiful. Looking forward to more videos.
Aw thanks so much! 🙏
OOOOhhhh...where do you get those little greenhouses for your winter garden?

Thank you! It’s a stone veneer

Por fora é realmente linda , por dentro eu mudaria quase tudo , deixaria com um estilo moderno , clean e minimalista .
Se os armários da cozinha fossem brancos ficaria melhor !
It is lovely, Lauren - just lovely. Thank you for taking us along. 🤎xo
Aw thank you so much! 🙏
I love the look of the mortar and cracks will add character.
🥱 boringAF and there is so much more needed on the decks, alone.. It's totally boring video... Husband needs to make sure you get a real job, real soon...
🤣 I run an interior design firm which my husband also works in and we are able to support our family and multiple employees. Pretty sure my husband’s good with my current job. Must be nice to have the time to make incorrect assumptions about people you don’t know on the internet and write them out in comments sections. Truly hope you figure out a more constructive use of your time and energy in the future.
Are u even real? I am so sorry for you.
Literally my dream house. It perfect
Aw thank you so much! 😊
Can't wait to see your home after it's completed ~ love all your very creative ideas and details! Especially LOVE the large round detailed opening! Your home will be spectacular when finished!
Aw thank you so much!!! 😁
A really beautiful home and one that is filled with love and family! I love every thing about it including the white washed wood cabinets and wood wall paneling. Well thought out. And oh, the audio was perfect. Not a flaw even for this 71 year old hard of hearing aid wearer. LOL. God bless!
lol Thank you SO much!! 😊 have a beautiful day & God bless you too! ❤️❤️❤️
Hedge fund or trust fund wife in communion with the universe living a stress-free hobby life.
You’ve been busy making comments on my videos today lol! I get that you don’t like my voice, my style, my designs etc.- all good with whatever floats your boat- and you’re probably trolling here but I did want to correct this one since it isn’t true. lol I WISH I had the luxury of a trust fund hobbyist life! 🤣 But as it says in the “about me”/ in any of my professional bios etc. you could have taken the time to read - before making your assumptions and sharing them for everyone to see- I run an interior design firm, write interior design books, and design home furnishings full time. I have my family and all of our employees and their livelihoods to look out for at all times. And that I can tell you is no hobby. I won’t make any assumptions about you or why you’re behaving this way but I do wish you the best and hope one day you learn to think twice and maybe do a little more research before trying to hurt people online and spread nonsense. (None is this written with any disrespect to those with a trust fund hobbyist life btw- enjoy it if you have it! 🤍but just wanted to clear that up .)
@@LaurenLiessTV I didn't say that I don't like your designs --- that comment about the cold colors and cold textures --- was a general comment about design today, WHICH YOUR SELECTION OF THAT COLD WOOD EXEMPLIFIES. I view some of your choices as reflecting the larger culture. Another example would be seating that looks uncomfortable --- that you wouldn't want to sit in for a long time. At your beach place, that is. I didn't see your seating choices at the other place. I realize the cottage had a small space, but you can actually find lots of small-scale seating that is very comfortable --- that is low to the ground so you can stretch your legs in front of you, almost like you're reclining, but that also has backs and arms that support you, that would make you comfortable for hours. I actually have visited Fallingwater 8 times, and as much as I love FLW, it was on my 5th or so visit that I began to see the flaws in his designs. For me it's a way of learning by posting my comments and seeing what kind of reaction I get --- the dialogue and debate help everyone learn. My criticisms aside, your sense of proportion and symmetry and space is fantastic, and your ability to redesign to bring the outside in (like knocking out that wall in the cottage, and the breezeway in the larger house, the proportions sense of space in the living room ) is fantastic. Appearing to be financially stress-free was apparently a mistaken impression. Thanks for chatting.
I'll clarify too that there obviously is a place for cold colors, cold materials. But the problem with all of the contemporary designs I see is that these top designers to celebrities have completely lost a sense for the psychological need for warm lighting, warm color, and warm texture. It's almost as though an aesthetic sensibility has been lost. And I have seen a number of these celebs say they wanted this or that to be warm, or they like it because it's warm, WHEN IT'S ACTUALLY COLD. Gwyneth Paltrow's house tour is a great example of this --- it's all cold colors and mostly cold lighting and materials/textures. There are also RUclips channels that show all the new designs in Australia and New Zealand, and it's the same thing in terms of cold colors and materials, and uncomfortable seating. It's completely alienating.
I make a delicious, and refreshing, iced tea drink during the summer. I brew tea using a high quality sencha green tea. Then I make a 50/50 blend of fresh-squeezed orange juice and unpasteurized cider that I can buy locally year-round. Then I take that juice blend and mix it 50-50 with the tea. I add a dash of orange blossom water. Then pour it over ice.
The affected enunciation is unbearable, so I had to turn the volume down. Because of this, I don't know what she said about the kitchen cabinets, but I do have a comment. There has been a trend in the past decade in interior design to use cold colors and cold materials, and the cold-toned brown of those cabinets really bothers me. I get that she's mixing multiple wood stains in the kitchen, but having that warm honey/amber-toned stain juxtaposed against the flat, cold brown of the cabinet door facing doesn't work. What I find absurd, too, is that the designers and celebrities who show their newly-decorated homes in unbearable cold colors somehow have been programmed to believe they are actually warm colors. So you'll see a celebrity show a room that's one in white and black, with one or two shades of gray, and it's all in glass, marble, and steel, with no wood or textiles or pictures anywhere, and they will tell you they wanted something warm and cozy.
I think it's perfect. When just cool toned wood is used the space feels uninviting and when just warm toned is used things look orange and tacky the mix gives the best of both worlds in my opinion. You should learn to be a decent human who can share a differing opinion without hurling insults.
Also, warm toned wood would not be appropriate for a beach home it's more appropriate for a cabin. The wood should match the natural environment and wood near beaches are naturally bleached by the sun and sand. It's impressive that she worked warmer tones in and made it work.
@@tacha363 I value authenticity, and when I don't get it, when I get dishonesty, I think it helps everyone to point it out. She is putting herself out there with her videos to make money --- she should value any criticism from her audience, as it can help her gauge what works and what doesn't. I don't know why that makes me an indecent human being. Can you explain?
@@tacha363 I grew up in Massachusetts on the ocean, and I have been spending much time on the coast of Maine in various ocean homes owned by my in-laws. Your point is absurd --- warm-toned woods are wholly appropriate for beach homes. Are you asserting that warm-toned wood is appropriate for interior howes away from the ocean because the dead wood there is WARM-toned? If so, you would be wrong. I dislike this trend that I mentioned toward cold colors and textures, but what bothers me about the kitchen isn't just the use of cold wood, it's also the mix of warm and cold that doesn't work visually.
Thats the kind of sink I want ..no worries of water splashing
I love all the stone and hope to do some in my dream home that we will build in a few years for our retirement home in the mountains of Georgia. The thing I love most about your ideas is that what you’re trying to bring to your home is cozy, warm, inviting, and a bit mystical all of which I love. May all your dreams come true. God bless you and yours. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! A home in the mountains of Georgia sounds amazing!!! Wishing you there very best and God bless you & yours too 🫶🫶🫶
It’s going to be amazingly beautiful. May you continue to be blessed. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! 🫶🫶🫶 you too!!!
No mortar for the floors, bad decision
Aw we really love it now that we live here!
you should make one double floor hall with huge fireplace for family hangaround, + connected kitchen at same environment. i would allso make a closed spa+pool+closed tropical garden behind super large glass in that hall. 😴👍 course in large family everyone hanging around in one place where mom cook(if that family have no personal cookchief). and all you need is a large table large sofa, spa, pool and good whole year garden in forst place 😴 kind of there is no need in 2-3 separated places
Great ideas!
Hmmm the mortar floor probably reminds you of sand.....
It does!!
This is too gorgeous for words. It would be lovely if you really did make this a forever home.I can see weddings in the gardens and grandchildren running through the meadow and climbing that old oak.
Thank you so much!! 🫶🫶🫶 we can too. It’s definitely our dream!! Xo
How can I source the stone products you are using? I especially love the slab flooring.
Check out Ancient Surfaces 🤍
Love it❤❤❤❤
The stone walls outside…. Are absolutely breathtaking. The stairs stone walls. Insane. All the real elements. My husband and I recently went in an 1800 preserved home and property and seeing tons of wood and real materials and unique undone kitchens. No closets. Cracks etc it was so special to walk in. Your materials remind me so much of that. But in a new fresh way. And normally I hate “new fresh ways” but you do incredible things!!!!! Your door, wardrobe wall (in which I love wardrobe walls), and the curtain place with seemelss stuff. That is so pretty - but I think and picture those styles in a home that’s majority all that. And love it for someone else. HOWEVER! How you pair it. It’s not overdone. And fits so perfectly and designer with all the organic mess. Just brilliance ⭐️ God bless you. Maybe God bless the work of your hands.
Wow! Thank you so much for your kind comment. You made my day and I so appreciate this!! God bless you and yours too!! 🫶🫶🫶
Loving all the stone! I like the mortar floor!
Thank you so much! We were so happy to finally get this stonework in place!😊
Your wooden windows are a dream- do you mind me asking the details and what exactly the style and models of them are?
Thank you! They are by Parrett and I am not sure of the model but they are white oak. 🤎
Beautiful! Nailed it. Must have been a challenge to work backwards and know the right color stone to choose.
Thank you so much! 🙏
I think your daughter said you will see dirt easier on the mortar and I think she might just be right. I don't know? I think I would go with what you originally planned. I think you love the color and maybe some smaller area could be left as mortar or be the sides of a pathway or border? get the best of both worlds? You do beautiful design so do what feels best for you and it's your house and family home.
Yes, she is such a practical little person!! (We often try to “match our dirt” when designing lol.) we have lots of red Virginia clay 😭 so unfortunately neither of our options match it very well. The mortar will be rougher with cracking etc but we ended up going for it. We’ll see how it goes! Thank you so much! 😊
Do you have info/ a tutorial on how you mix and apply?
Sorry, I don’t. Our masons did it and they’re serious artists with their custom sand mixing etc. 🤍
Mortar for floor? You’re going to regret that. Just my 2 cents.
Thank you. I’m kind of crazy over here but we’ve been living with it and it’s one of my favorite parts of the house. It’s definitely not something I think most people would like though for sure!! 👍
@@LaurenLiessTV I personally love the mortar floor. It reminds me of the a Tadelakt shower wall .
I love the mortar 😅
Thank you!! 😊
The stone inside and the stone walls outside are looking so great ! The glimpse of the kitchen tile..yes! That pattern is my favorite! I know this may sound cheesy but I hope you capture your children’s hand prints ..somewhere.. even inside a wall so that in a hundred years when someone opens that wall they see them. Or make a moment in the garden. I’m really enjoying these videos.
That's such a sweet idea! Thank you so much 😊 I will try to make it happen somewhere!! 🫶🫶🫶
