Really enjoyed all the information and education on flooring. I think your choice will look amazing. My wood floors are 10 years old and every piece was carefully placed and tells a story of when we put them down. We saw little images in the grain and still walk around pointing them out. Your home will be so lovely and am excited to see your journey to making it exactly how you envision it to be.

Love watching you guys🙂 but 15 min dialog wirh the flooring was a little long- 15 min? A little more of the house and other progress and decisions would have been nice-

Thank you! 😊 I want to let people who are interested in hearing our thought processes in on it so some of the videos may not be for most people who are wanting more action/ interest ❤️

Those windows are gorgeous!!! I worry about the pillow edges just because that has a very strong association with 21st century engineered wood floors. Hardwood has just historically not had that and I think hubby was right--it will look new. Edges just don't wear down like that naturally...it's the middle of the boards that wear down....not the edges. But that's sweating the small stuff and I know you are barefoot people, so foot-feel matters and you liked how it felt underfoot! Love your idea to do the offset wood sections. What a great compromise between boring straight and diagonal....it stays consistent with character of house but has a little extra interest and beauty. Would never have thought of that. I would also have voted perpindicular border boards but I think it will look great either way. Next time post the vids in real time!! (Although I do appreciate the exquisite editing and that you have more important things to do than post videos on youtube right away)

The floor definitely needs the border boards.

We’ll see when it gets here but think we will do the raw

I love that you are taking a risk on the floor - I think you would regret playing it safe. I'm eager to see the outcome! We had a century farmhouse with old maple floors that were patched in a few places from where they took out old heating grates. I always thought it had a beautiful rustic charm in the imperfection. Oh, and the windows are gorgeous - love your idea of taking off the corners to make them more lived in. It's going to be a stunning home!

I didn’t think I would but I like the raw edge. It’s organic. I actually enjoy your thoughtful, protracted, torturous, externalized thought process. 🤭😉

I don’t think you’ll like the raw edge to raw edge. A border is very nice
