I'm a guitarist, play folk, rock, metal, Country... This one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard. Honestly, you make your instrument speak in a wonderful language
I bought the entire discog with all the tabs from the link in the description. The first song in this wasn't that hard to learn. I highly recommend it from one guitarist to another. This is from a guy who is 40 and completely new to finger-style and played metal and blues my whole life. I'll be working through these tabs for years.
So nice. I love that open bronzey ringing sound. Too many guitarists these days forget that sometimes it's the sound of nothing in-between that gives music it's soul.
you keep that up and you'll have thousands upon thousands of people loving celtic music, going to Irish music workshops, trying out Larrivee guitars... Thank you, thank you!
Great work Stephen! If there were various rating criteria on RUclips, I would give you a like for everything: video quality, video edit, sound quality, playing skills, composition, overall impression. Subscribed and waiting for more of your Celtic/Irish songs. All the best!
+Lukasz Kapuscinski - Guitars & Dragons Thanks Lukasz! I checked out your videos and wow, such a great sound and composing... and thanks for taking the time to listen to some of my tunes! :)
I honestly don’t know why you aren’t the biggest guitar RUclipsr out there yet. Everything about your videos are perfect. Great quality, amazing sound, beautiful expression, and a sense of joy and being embraced by the song. Keep up the amazing content!
I'm a little late to the party apparently but seeing this reminds me of how much I love this instrument. Been playing for 20 years and the fact I can still discover new styles of play that I haven't imagined is incredible
I had my first guitar lesson on September 30th, 2020! And I'm learning Celtic music to start with! in DADGAD! :D I hope to become as good as you one day!

@@washerdryer3466 Well I'm from County Durham in England, neither tune is Irish and Stephen Wake is definitely a Scot, so feel free to dismount from your high horse.
Outstanding! Reminds me very much of my all-time favorite guitarist, Tony McManus. Beautiful tone, graceful ornamentation and a wonderful video. That is a great tuning as well. Bidh clann Ulaidh comes to mind, one I enjoy playing. Albeit, not as gracefully as you and Tony play. Thank you for sharing!
Whenever I listen to you play, you always inspire me to keep on going with my guitar lessons and practice. I want to be able to play Celtic music this well some day
Stephen - I stumbled onto your work as the result of being a big fan of Tommy McManus - I think Celtic melodies are some of the most moving sounds ever played and recorded - the staccato runs you do are unbelievable beautiful and such a challenge for a player at any level (I'm a 40 year player) - if you ever come to Huntsville AL or I get to the British Isles I sure hope you are gigging...
I've never been so fascinated like i'm now before ! I'm a guitar player or should i say an amateur guitar player and i'm very interested in the celtic culture & music ! i wish to be able to play like you one day Inchallah ! :)
You really shoock me,dear sir! You are incredible guitar player!!! I was amazed by your playing of this music.....Excellent,perfect ,wonderful work, man!!!
Wonderful playing. Phenomenal mixing, instrumentation and sounds of the outdoors. The guitar sounds beautifully warm and deep, without losing any top end. Very nice indeed!
I've been thinking of writing some songs with the guitar in this tuning, and after listening I'm sold... I'm even thinking of buying another guitar now just to have one set up like this at all times. Brilliant work!
+John “Nibbo” Reynolds Thank you John for your kind words. It helps having a guitar tuned all the time to this tuning. You get more familiar with it every day.
This is legitimately the best guitar playing I’ve heard ever. Period.

Not a week doesn't go by and I don't listen to this tune. Sublime. Greetings from Celtic neighbours in Ireland.

I'm Chinese but I listen to your Celtic music because it is so beautiful
Stephen's guitar sings while his fingers dance! This music warms my heart.
Stephen Wake, the man that plays pipe in spirit on a guitar
Great. But not the first.

I'm not sure whether listening to you play inspires me or makes me want to burn my guitar. Absolutely stunning.
Those little rhythms are sending chills down my spin. Wouldn't even know what to call them?

Beautiful.. I love the pipe like drone in your intro, sad, beautiful and impeccable, every note was worthy and welcome.
Astonishing! Incredible playing in DADGAD!
This is CGDGCD, or Orkney tuning, mate.
A remarkable arrangement of We Will Return (Home) to Kintail. Beautifully done.
Simply the most beautiful music in the world. The Irish soul comes from the Angels heart.
It's a Scottish tune, arranged and played by a Scot. Agree with you that it is sublime.
Scottish. Why are so many people so often wrong on this.
It is extremely tiresome.
