Why is it a mistake for the band to not let him back? Seems like they are doing fine without him. Why bring that drama back into the band after that letter he wrote to them. I don't blame the band at all. They don't need him. He blew it.

Weikath in Helloween knew what fans wanted. He called Kiske after 25 years while half drunk and asked him if they still had a problem. Kiske said no.
Then he rejoined Helloween only if Hansen (Founder) also came back. They became a 7 man band with 3 singers as they couldn't kick any out of the band. It worked out well. After this they became a more popular band than ever.

That's not how growth works and no, not everybody wants to sit in the past. Its not 1970...1980...1990..................its 2024. Desperate for things to remain the very same is fear of growing old and desperately hanging on to youth. Its how you end up the 90 year old man with hair to your ass in skinny jeans still thinking the face tattoos were a great decision. This is why recordings are produced. You want original, listen to those. LOL

Ken was my favourite Judas Priest member, since I always liked his guitar style. I don't and won't own any Judas Priest material without Ken, nor will I see Judas Priest live. I love KK's Priest and look forward to The Sinner Rides Again as well as seeing them live.
After that letter he wrote to the band and the things he said about Glenn Tipton, and he expects to be accepted back into the band? That's delusional. Sad that he is out of the band seeing how he was a founding member, but he made his own bed. He blew it, and it is obvious that they can still be successful without him. They don't need him.
They should stop being silly and take the chance to reunite before one of them pass away. Life is too short.

Musically speaking; Priest needs KK ***WAY*** more than KK needs Priest. Although I kind of hate the name of his new band (I think a callback like 'Freight' would have been cool), his last album was everything that Priest has been missing in their music for over a decade now.
I prefer "Firepower" over both of KK's albums.
@@bahabusky4230 no way lol The production was obviously better because the budget was much higher, but musically that album is cheesy and cookie cutter AF, same with the RoS.
edit: I mean no disrespect btw, I just really can't listen to any of the new albums and think "oh yeah, this is 'Priest' "
It's as "cheesy" and "cookie cutter" as the "Painkiller" album, and that's how I like it. Still much more Priest than KK's NWOBHM-Revival Band. @@judaspriestly88
@@bahabusky4230 I don't know how you can say that when Priest effectively now has a Zakk Wylde wannabe on lead. Even Faulkner himself has admitted to being as much. They genuinely sound like a Judas Priest cover band who's now putting out 'originals' that sound like most other b-rate heavy/powermetal bands out there for the last 20 years, IMO, and certainly absolutely nothing like Painkiller.
KK's albums, though in DESPERATE need of a remaster/some trimming down, are built upon very classic Priest sounding riffs. Personally, when I finally took the time to really listen to the whole first album like 6 or 8 months ago, it really opened my eyes as a guitar player to just how much KK's choice of notes made such an impact on the classic Priest riffs/sound.
The original Priest still sounds like the original Priest. Period.
I wonder what you got stuck in your ears, so you're not able to hear correctly. Priest never was about "Priest sounding riffs", but rather about Priest sounding songs. That's what the original Priest are still able to deliver, and that's what they still do.
KK now has his own Judas Priest tribute band who's putting out 'originals' that sound like many other old b-rate NWOBHM bands, not like original Judas Priest at all. @@judaspriestly88
So sad when my heroes worry each other :( I don't think they need any more fame, money or pride at the top but to do things they like most and I don't know what the problem is.. I guess it is a business after all. I hope they live in peace doing the things they love at this stage of their lives
His band is nowadays so much better than Judas Priest. I was a great Judas priest fan since the 70s. But what they are producing now is just money-making garbage and not Metal. K.K. can be satisfied and should not look back. Judas Priest had their time. The future of the JP heritage is now owned by K.K. Downing and Ripper Owens.

Seems like she did a really good job to me, and Judas Priest seems to be doing just fine these days (and without all the drama).
Contacted the management about the Nostradamus Super Deluxe boxset PVC packaging ruining the discs, they told me to BUY IT AGAIN... ... .. ! Can see what they think of the folk that have paid into their pension pots...

So much SB. KK left the real Judas Priest to build a golf course. And when that failed he wanted to re-join Priest but in the mean time he had been slagging the original band members of. So now he makes his own band and calls it KK's Priest. How sad do you have to be?

Sometimes your are with a group of people or person just too long. And had ya stood up sooner, or somebody else things may have ended up more amicable and the idea of hanging our and getting together again is a possibility. But when you wait too long, people can hold shit inside, turns a grudge etc etc. and it kinda sucks when you have such a long term legacy with those people. I just don't like it when people say "never". We're all fucking human and fuck up I say. So try to get over. Life's too short.
Sad. He left Judas Priest. When he was needed most.

I am happyn whenever there is another priest album coming out, but priest hasnt been priest for like 4 albums now. they are something else. but there is no trace of the band that made love bites or you got another thing coming.
Judas Priest has put out three albums so far since they got rid of KK, (two albums and one song so far), but not since the song Nostradamus off the album Nostradamus (the ninth song off disc two) has Judas Priest put out an A list song of any kind (like Victim of Changes or Judas is Rising or Touch of Evil or Beyond the Realms...).
(Redeemer of Souls just lays there and as for Fire Power, Leatherwolf could have made that cookie-cutter effort, and Panic Attack verges on the outright annoying...)...

Halford IS THE Priest ! Without him it never worked, no matter who played the guitars.
Even his solo records, especially "Resurrection", are more Priest than KK's "Priest" ever will become.
@DPJDW2024 KK's Priest sounds nothing like Painkiller. You are a perfect example of someone who should have the ears checked. How do you know if I'm a musician or not ? And why should that matter ? Music is not only made for musicians.
