Trent4Fish, great content. I am in my shop right now, components per your specs laid out, your video up and running! Please advise how you made the mounting plate for the on/off switch. Plastic, sheet metal, aluminum plate?
Great instructions - one question - is the motor polarity sensitive? I found the same motor - is the red positive? I can't find any markings on the motor itself.
The motor is polarity sensitive. The off on switch is able to reverse the polarity. So it doesn’t matter which you connect to the motor. Just make sure the off on switch makes the motor turn the correct direction.
@@trent4fish Thanks - I made a few mods to my thumper. First, I used (2) 2" conduit hangars that worked perfectly for spacing the motor. Also, I mounted my controller with Velcro for ease of removing and dampening and used a waterproof strain relief connector to attach my power cable to the box (you might guess by now that I do electrical work). Can't wait to get out on the Tennessee River for a trial run - thanks for all your suggestions!
@@finnsnracks2085 Definitely - especially where the main creeks hit the river. Also, I use it where the flats drop off to about 15-20 feet. I find a slower pace is better than fast but it's more about what the fish want that day.

Can you show where you got vsc. and remote
I built mine the same way but cannot get the remote to work
I never saw the measurement for the boards, guess I just cut to fit container ?
Still wondering if the motor lasted?
I want to build one just wondering. Thx!
Hey bud , I know it’s been years since you did this video . But do you happen to have like a cut list . For the size of boards you used
Is it still functioning.
Where does the blue wire go to? what is it connected to?
What size wire did you run from motor to controller. I assume you made those leads.

I used the plastic tray that came with the utility box. Just cut a piece off with some snips.

Is the blue wire from remote control going to the adjuster switch, if so how do you attach it
The blue wire is the antenna for the remote control.
How did you connect the motor
I mean the wire into the motor itself
Is it just trial and error to determine the speed you need? Or is there one that pretty much works all the time?
Typically they are attracted to about a 40% - 50% speed thump.
What is this thing used for ?
duh, its used to bring in fish, lol
Wow, first time I saw such thing. Have you used it and does it work?
We catch 25 per person limits using this thumper!
@@trent4fish wow, I need to build myself one then. Thanks for responding.
What battery are you using
I have it connected to one of the deep cycle batteries in the boat. I prefer Interstate deep cycle 12 volt batteries.
What battery are you using?
Interstate dual purpose starter/deep cycle batteries.
Can I get the motor part number
