I feel you on liking a game that got barely any recognition Neo The World Ends With You is my game of the year and it should have been nominated for best soundtrack or best rpg
I think you'd like Tales of Arise regardless of any negative bias towards other Tales games. I wasn't huge on older Tales gameplay but I absolutely love the combat of Arise and think it's worth a shot.
Wow i expected to see dread up here based on the metroidvania representation on the list Edit: nevermind. I just disagree with everything you said about the game lol
Not totally upset this isn't on the list considering it's PC only and I don't know what kind of consoles you have, but I think you should try Madness Project Nexus. It came out in September and it's like a 3rd person strategy combat game. It was made based off a web series called Madness Combat, and the gameplay feels very satsifying at times.
It is pretty bullshit that Unsighted has received next to no recognition this year although I do think that there are several other indies that came out this year that were much better. Ender Lillies and Death's Gambit felt much more enjoyable from beginning to end. Although this may just be because the secret post game bosses felt pretty lazily done which left a bad taste in my mouth.
Record of lodoss war deedlit in wonder labyrinth was one of my games for 2021. An old school castlevania like game with refined mechanics and a badass female protagonist. Another short but sweet game but definitely worth a play through
My GOTY is easily Death's Gambit: Afterlife. While it is technically an expansion to a game from a few years ago, released during the souls-like craze in the wake of DS3, the Afterlife expansion made the game so much better than the original. The first version had clunky combat, with unresponsive controls and an extremely limiting stamina system. This is absolutely fatal to a souls-like, but the new version fixed every problem with the gameplay. Now equipped with a robust and responsive combat system, the game's art, music, and narrative truly shine. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that it felt like playing Dark Souls or Bloodborne for the first time again, but even better. Easily in my top 5 of all time.
Now I like Metroid dread and kh3 and i don’t think neither games were disappointing but base off gameplay, combat, bosses , and graphics I picked kh3 over Metroid dread
At least I'm not the only one that didn't fall head over heals in love with Metroid Dread. It was fine...ish but I was more frustrated than elated most of the time and story aside I didn't like the game anywhere near as much as I did Hollow Knight, Ori, hell, I enjoyed F.I.S.T. So much more than Metroid Dread.
Legit surprised about your number 1 placement. Usually I see GOTY being something that comes out near the end of the year. Being more freshly played an all. R.E. village must really be good
thank goodness at least some people see how not good Metroid Dread is lol. I was surprised to see Deathloop so far up the list, I really didn't like it
Albino! I can't believe your non-boss ranking videos don't get the same amount of views. I also loved the Hitman series and The Forgotten City. The Forgotten City is actually one of my favorites of all time, even if it has basically no replayability. Inscryption was just genius, despite not being the type of game I normally play. Actually, I just watched Markiplier play it. I didn't actually play that many new games in 2021 but I can say for certain that I disagree with Deathloop being placed so high. That game was just not enjoyable for me. Not at all.

Glad someone else immediately thought of Neo TWEWY lol
Albino is literally the biggest Resident Evil 8 fan I know. I feel obligated to finish it just based on your hype
That's so cool to see forgotten city to upgrade from a mod I played to a full on game
I only even heard of Unsighted because Of iron pineapple in his most recent “soulslikes you’ve never heard of” video and holy crap is it good
Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights was an amazing game that came out in June. I really enjoyed that one. Definately among my new favorite games.
Finally someone mentions the forgotten city.
What games are you excited for 2022?
God of war Ragnarok
Nothing
The Forgotten City was definitely my GOTY
Eager to see! Gotta get some of these under my belt. Thanks Albino! 🤌🏻

Solar Ash is a game that I had anticipated for a long time and loved when it released recently. Definitely worth a look for anyone that is interested.
With Metroid Dread.....the dev team gave the fans what they wanted....and the fanbase loved it.
I see nothing wrong with satisfying your fanbase.
Yeah, he's completely wrong and off base with Dread. Dude's a straight hater because it frustrated him lmao.
Based comment

Did you have a chance to play No More Heroes 3? If so what do you think of that game?
Can't wait for the Hollow Knight Silksong review in 2025
Damn no NieR

SMTV should have won some awards. Sheesh
Impostor Factory is a part of a larger series. Be sure to check out To the Moon and Finding Paradise if you enjoyed the narrative of IF. It's great.
I loved Metroid Dread, but I 100% agree with your stance on it. It does get a pass for its quirks simply because it's a Nintendo game.

Iron Pineapple mentioned Unsighted in his last steam dumpster dive too. Tried it out. Amazing. Robot Zelda w/ parries. Go get it!

No halo infinite?
Exactly
Halo is so washed up.
Triggered everytime he says "sohmus"
That is how you pronounce it phonetically using the Japanese alphabet but go off
@@SunburnedAlbino haha, never said it was right or wrong. Ive said "sam-us" my whole life, so hearing it different was very funny.
@@justinnall7108 I just always have the Smash Bros Melee announcer's pronunciation stuck in my head lol
B-But NEO The World Ends With You...

C'mon
Nah dread is great

honestly lost judgments is good but the story is dog shit
You're just flat out wrong about Metroid Dread. It was EASILY one of the best games of the year.
First
