Do I need to get the SE tuner for S&S slip-ons on the low rider s 117? my dealer in NZ doesn't have a dyno and the closest place is a few hundred k's away
@@mintpaul Hi mate. NO. If you are just getting the Slip On pipes then you don't need to get a tuner. The base calibration in the ECM has been done with upgraded air filter in mind so just adding slip in pipes won't effect it much at all and the ECM will still have learning window margin to make any adjustments if needed.
Awesome Job and of course an awesome bike! Is it correct that i see 3 holes for 3 Ignition sparks? And yes, it gives a lot to do when you rebuild and tune an engine! TX for sharing this video
They're not very popular around these parts. We don't even really any for service work let alone performance upgrades. In my 15 years I've worked on less than 10 Vrods.
Great vid, I recently had my Fat Bob fitted with the same kit but using the 131 kit cam, hilariously fast now. How much extra do you get from your recommended cam please?
Results vary from engine to engine as different air filters & exhausts systems are used. However this CR512 Camshaft generally goes early 150hp & mid 150s in the torque. Thus bike was a little lower due to the pipes
Great Job boss amazing Breakout. Have a question for you my Fat Bob 2018 from 107 I upgraded to 124 S&S Stage 3 with 475 Cam and Screaming eagle throttle body with injectors. And Clutch plates with 2-1 S&S Race only with silencer making over 131hp and 144tq but its not that smooth any thing else is missing to make the bike ride smooth as stock ? Or its impossible once you go with these performance parts.
The S&S 475 cam is not known for being smooth. I would recommend changing to a CR485 from www.alphaperformanceengines.com.au That will make the bike run smoothly & will definitely make more power. The rest of your setup sounds like it will be fine to keep running.
How much can a twin cam 110 stock screamin' eagle improve in terms of horsepower with stock exhaust and a tuner? I've never seen a bloke burning rubber like the owner on the video, here in California. Cheers!
fantastic work as always Tommy. Do you know if the S&S quickie pushrods fit inside the screamin eagle black pushrod tubes on the M8... ive been unable to find the answer as someone mentioned they dont. thanks
Thanks for the positive feedback and support. Ok, the S&S Quickie pushrods are designed to work with the STOCK pushrods tubes on the M8. Now the stock pushrod tubes are slightly longer than the Screamin Eagle pushrod tubes. The Screamin Eagle pushrod tubes are slightly shorter than the stock ones, they have to be shorter to allow for wrench clearance and the bottom to make the adjustments. So with all that said I would assume very confidently that the S&S quickie pushrods will fit inside & be able to work with the Screamin Eagle pushrod tubes.
Depending on your exact setup now with exhaust, air filter & tuning module you could be up for around 12k ride in ride out fully built & tuned. If you already have a decent air filter, exhaust system & tuning module it will be less

🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Stirring up the Yankees 🇺🇲 with "we do the better skids"😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂 I like this build, anyone can build a motor just for a dyno printout with massive number's..... But that's an issue for a tape measure 🤣😂🤣.... But I've always said it's better to make usable numbers, especially within the rev range of normal riding...... As it's a road,NOT A DRAG STRIP..... Keep Living the F#@KING Dream ❗ Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾 💪🇦🇺💪
Cheers for awesome feedback & support mate!! It's no secret that we do the best skids on the planet 🌏👊🏻 That's exactly right though mate. I could have put a cam in there with over 250° of duration with more lift and made lots more power but it would have softened the bottom end off and not had the huge hit from 2000rpm. Time & place for all different combos and as you said....numbers ain't everything 🇦🇺
Nice build mate, good video. Yeh it's been a while since your last post, but life happens. Had the Q all along about the pipes but you answered there at the end. With a 2 into 1 would it make another 5 or 7 horses ? Regardless I still prefer the sound of a 2 into 2 pipe, ya can't beat that sound
From a completely stock 114ci Breakout you will to budget roughly $10,500 ride in ride out for something like this engine build. Obviously that's including the engine kit, exhaust system, air filter setup, tuning device, labour and dyno tune.
He's never ran it on the drag strip. Boosted conversations have taken place and we trying to come up with the best setup for him. All the Super Charging kits we've been looking at all have draw backs. Some worse than others, some not so bad. Turbo options are looking promising so now it's just a matter of costings now. I have a good feeling the bike will be boosted in the first half of 2023
The SE517 that comes with 131ci would be far better suited than 468 cam. You could run the 468 cam but you would holding the engine back substantially. The engine would not be able to run efficiently with the smaller cam as it wouldn't allow for big enough 'breath' to fully fill the cylinders.
@Mario Rosales Yes. We normally use the Fatboy tank, modified so that console mounting points are removed for a clean look.. It's a direct fit with no issues, fuel pump & sender fits directly in & the mounting points are the same
Thanks for the awesome feedback mate 👊🏻 So the stock clutches in the Milwaukee8 bikes are proving to be VERY solid. We upgrade the stock springs to the Heavier 1275N Springs from Screamin Eagle, and that's it! We have had NO issues with any clutches in any of our hi output engine builds. Even the bike we drag race on a regular basis still run stock clutches with only the upgraded springs.

Great video mate, looking to do the 131 kit in my 21 streetbob, can you tell me what the standerd cam is that comes with the SE kit? Id like to run the same set up as this here.
Thanks!
Hi Kurt, thanks for checking it out.
Here is a link to another 131ci build I did with the SE517 Cam that comes with the kit. This video shows how it performs as a bolt on kit

@@MasterTechMiller thanks Tommy, very impressive in part 3, did you end up getting 160? Also could i get away with running the factory bottom end with this build. The bike cops abit of a hard time here and there.
More of dumping clutch/ powerskid. not sitting on front brake
@@kurtdonovan4198 if you plan to be a little mean to it I'd highly recommend doing a stronger bottom end for sure.
Sold the bike before I had a chance to spend more time on it so I didn't end up getting the 160 but all good. I'll be doing another build shortly and aiming for over 160
@@MasterTechMiller ok no problem, il look at bottom end weld also, i just spoke with one of the boys at your shop, looking at a quote for this build you might see it around october if all good. Thankyou!
@@kurtdonovan4198 that's awesome mate! I look forward to possibly meeting you and building your engine.
If you need to talk with me, just call the shop and ask for me 🍻
Question for you Tommy ... 4:50 ... so there's no gasket between the crankcase halves, just sealant?
That's correct mate. Been that way since at least the EVO engine that I'm aware of.
What tuner did you use with that setup?

...nice build....im amazed he isnt runnin an open belt.
faaaaaark yeah!!! ✊🏾
how to make popcorn sound in breakout?
??
I’ve heard you talk about what can be lost with different exhaust systems. What do you recommend for breakouts?
Either these pipes that on this bike Radical Radius or the Sharp Curve Radius option. Both are made by Freedom exhaust
Cookie approves.
Engine swap 114 to 131 ?? With no modification???
What do you mean no modification? You need to explain your concern or ask a better question
@@MasterTechMiller do they have kit available to a 114 to 131 ? Or do you have to take the engine out and replace?
@edgargarcia940 Screamin Eagle offer a 114ci to 131ci bolt on kit.
The reason I had this engine out & apart was because I fitted an upgraded flywheel assembly.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Stirring up the Yankees 🇺🇲 with "we do the better skids"😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂
I like this build, anyone can build a motor just for a dyno printout with massive number's..... But that's an issue for a tape measure 🤣😂🤣.... But I've always said it's better to make usable numbers, especially within the rev range of normal riding...... As it's a road,NOT A DRAG STRIP.....
Keep Living the F#@KING Dream ❗
Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾
💪🇦🇺💪
Cheers for awesome feedback & support mate!!
It's no secret that we do the best skids on the planet 🌏👊🏻
That's exactly right though mate. I could have put a cam in there with over 250° of duration with more lift and made lots more power but it would have softened the bottom end off and not had the huge hit from 2000rpm.
Time & place for all different combos and as you said....numbers ain't everything 🇦🇺
What sort of kits do Harley have for Vrods?
Screamin Eagle cam kits.
If you want to chase serious power from the V-Rod you need to hit the aftermarket
Yeah that's right mate, would have picked up a few more numbers with a 2-1 but as you said, the sound!!!
Nice results! Can you give a rough estimate around what money is needed to get these results starting with a stock Breakout?
From a completely stock 114ci Breakout you will to budget roughly $10,500 ride in ride out for something like this engine build. Obviously that's including the engine kit, exhaust system, air filter setup, tuning device, labour and dyno tune.
@@MasterTechMiller Thank you for the information!
So what the 1/4 e.t? And are we booosted yet or nah?
He's never ran it on the drag strip.
Boosted conversations have taken place and we trying to come up with the best setup for him. All the Super Charging kits we've been looking at all have draw backs. Some worse than others, some not so bad.
Turbo options are looking promising so now it's just a matter of costings now.
I have a good feeling the bike will be boosted in the first half of 2023
Thinking of a 131 . Can a 468 cam work with this configuration ?
The SE517 that comes with 131ci would be far better suited than 468 cam.
You could run the 468 cam but you would holding the engine back substantially.
The engine would not be able to run efficiently with the smaller cam as it wouldn't allow for big enough 'breath' to fully fill the cylinders.
@@MasterTechMiller Thank you for quick reply.
is that the standard front wheel?
No. It's a 23 inch
@@MasterTechMiller does it change the ride much? I’m thinking gloss black my original rims or do I go to 23?
@@kanenaysmith9287 nah doesn't change a thing.
Is that bike dropped in the rear? Its a 3.5 gal gas tank right?
Yes it's running the Platinum Air Ride in the rear.
@@MasterTechMiller and the gas tank? 3.5 gallon gas tank
@@MR1JUNO yes
@@MasterTechMillerone last question do you guys install 5 gallon gas tanks?
@Mario Rosales Yes. We normally use the Fatboy tank, modified so that console mounting points are removed for a clean look..
It's a direct fit with no issues, fuel pump & sender fits directly in & the mounting points are the same
Awesome work mate. With a build like this will you have to do work on the clutch? Always wondered
Thanks for the awesome feedback mate 👊🏻
So the stock clutches in the Milwaukee8 bikes are proving to be VERY solid. We upgrade the stock springs to the Heavier 1275N Springs from Screamin Eagle, and that's it! We have had NO issues with any clutches in any of our hi output engine builds.
Even the bike we drag race on a regular basis still run stock clutches with only the upgraded springs.
@@MasterTechMiller thanks for the reply mate! Means alot. That is awesome to hear about the clutches. Really enjoying the videos mate! Learning on everyone. See you on the next one!
@@adamhetherington839 no worries at all. I'm glad you're enjoying them.
New video will be finished & uploaded in the next week or 2. It's a 131ci Bagger build so stayed tuned for that one. 👊🏻🍻
What fun is that, like a 5 year old getting off. Love the conversion, it would be a good time rapping through the gears. I guess i dont see the sense in tearing up the tire, belt, and brakes. Maybe its me!!!
is it available for Fat Bob?
Absolutely
What do you do for a clutch on a build like that? That clutch can’t be stock… right?
Clutch is completely stock except for the Screamin Eagle 1275nm springs.
Do you have the specs for the CR512 please, hard to find
No not on me mate, but if you head over to the Cyclerama website (link in video description) and send them an Email, Pam or Wes should be able to hook you up mate.
Do the 131 kit run hot??
No
I have the 131 screaming eagle kit in my Ultra Limited what is the best rpm to idle this at ?
950
