We here a day early on accident! 😂
Needed something to do this morning anyway
Driving back home on a Sunday morning listening to the pod 🤝 I’m so excited to race at BMP for the first time. Mod Nats this November!!
And we thank you for that!! 🤘
This is the Mondayist Sunday ever...😂
Love the Sunday drop. Working on my well pump but get to listen to car stuff.
Victors openness to new ideas and events for new racers, is why BMP will continue to thrive.
Yup he is an asset to the sport
That and the fact that he approaches it as a "for us by us" kind of thing. Having FF and Cleet so close helps. You have all of Cleets viewers who know about the track. Cleet has a bunch of events at BMP so that's a huge boost. Good luck to VIc and can't wait to see it evolve more.
Hey you 2 thanks for the compliments!!!
Man, I REALLY enjoyed listening to Vic talk so passionately about his work and love for the sport. I hope you have him on again, because I'd love to hear a more in-depth story of how Induction performance started and grew, and how he came into ownership of Bradenton Motorsports Park
For getting people into the sport i think Victor should do something like the movie born to race (cheesy movie) but a drag strip holds a high school drag race the winner gets a scholarship... Should be pretty easy to setup with the high schools nearby and would get the next generation involved in the sport and keep them off the street
I live in New Jersey and I always try to promote BMP...I will do everything in my power to make sure makes sure it thrives. Damn shame what happened to my state...Love the ideas guys..Makes me want to run out and do something
I was at Atco the last day they were open for the Kies Motorsports show. They were promoting the upcoming Tunerfest then hours later they closed for good without notice. Sale must have been going on in the background for sometime. I drove all the way from Atlanta for that show. We lost Atlanta Dragway not too long ago to apartments for a Battery Factory.
@@CarsWithKeav I believe the sale was made long in advance, but I don't think any employees knew other than the owners. Cooper kind of hit home when he said people are turning cars back into street cars, because that's what I'm thnking about. Dont really want to run 160mph at the top end of island....
Something to watch Sunday morning!
1:38:00 Victor you were a perfect guest 🙏. This is the type of content that we really want...
.
We want to know more about the people, who constantly appear in other videos, that we know some things about, but don't know their full connection to the sport 👏👏👏
I can’t believe this video only has 37k. Victor is totally slept on. He’s a 🐐. Big influence to the community
Victor definitely seems like a genuine dude that also wants to see what’s best for the sport! I gotta get down there and join you for another one before too long 🤛
Albany NY resident here, I’ve recently built a little drift car and have been going to Lebanon Valley Dragway to go drifting (20 mins outside Albany) they have a dirt track, 1/4 mile drag strip and just repaved the skid pad for drifting . I’ve never drag raced before but have pretty quick 135i that I’ll race anyone one the street with. I’ve been trying to get my co workers to go to a test in tune with me. I feel so blessed that Lebanon valley is a thing and still open.
It's cool to see this side of Vic that you usually don't get to see. He's such a great guy and the amount of work that he puts into the track, the shop, and all the other events he is apart of, is unmatched. Props to Vic!
I blew my transmission last year at BMP and decided to do a full cage after a 9.9 pass, glad i just went 25.5 lol not running. Need an inspector now. Ive never competed but i hope ill be out there when im ready! BMP hooks!
Don't forget OSW has the sport compact nationals that gets packed. 5s 2JZs
I live right near Sydney Dragway and our street car rules are fairly good. Sometimes you get the occasional “registered” car that seems a bit non street car but we aren’t racing for cash on the “race for real” Wednesday night and want these guys here to see what’s possible if you do push yourself to build a more serious machine. First timers get an F/T drawn on their rear glass, helmet a must, as are long sleeves, drag radials allowed but must have exhaust past last rear opening window and below 95db. Besides that, cars running 8’s, 9’s and 10’s are common here so it’s all good as long as you have fun. Can choose to race your mates or a call out, can just get in line and race whoever.
I have huge respect for Victor, you guys may not realise but you are also well watched here in Australia and are building our sport here too so thanks for that and great vid too Cooper, another really good interview
As a Pennsylvania Maple Grove Raceway regular I'm really happy Kenny Koretsky bought it and saved it from the last owners who had no idea what they were doing and I also raced at Englishtown and Atco it's very sad they were awesome tracks
Thank you Cooper. You have kept me company from Cutbank Montana and now I’m going through Chicago Illinois keep it coming.
Just gonna say that you guys know a guy next to BMP that has a ton of old crown Vic’s that would be perfect for the coach challenge🤷🏽♂️ Excited for that video to happen!
I love this Coop. I really do. Everything I have learned about 2Jz’s I have learned from you and Victor. What a solid, rowdy platform to have fun with
I grew up going to Englishtown with my dad and I wish we had somewhere like BMP up here. Came down for the Freedom 500 on the Thursday before and went to the test and tune and had a great time. Keep up the great work!
Empire Dragway in the Rochester NY has a full 1/4 track with a very long shutdown. They just had NE pro mods last weekend
It's funny that you guys were wanting to talk to a rocket scientist. I've been a rocket launch photographer working with two launch providers for years. A lot, if not most, of their red team guys (the guys on the launch pad diagnosing problems with the rocket and launching it) come from racing/motorsports. At the main company I shot for, our lead red team member came from Singer where he built engines which led him onto assembling a launch provider's rocket engines. He now works in nuclear fusion. Another made custom motorcycles while a few had their hands in NASCAR and drag racing. There's a huge crossover between racing and rockets!
It's really cool hearing all the talk about the tracks up my way, I live 20 minutes from Maple Grove. It is a shame all these tracks have been closing.
As a racer who is about an hour away from summit motorsports park(which I still refer it to Norwalk from back in the day) I love how victor is going to other events to see how he can do things better but the current owner of the track by me is just set in his ways not changing things up its awesome to see a track owner looking at ways to make the track better!
Having BMP just down the road is amazing! HUGE THANKS to Victor for making it all happen!
I Just love the realism of this pod cast.. from what it takes to enjoy yet survive yet conquer the wonderful world of drag racing.. it's wonderful to be a small part of the drag racing world in Florida and always support BMP and a wonderful platform like coopers podcast.
I love this show Coop. Bringing so much awareness to the drag racing world. Love the first time racer idea. And the street car documentary. I’m all for it. Can’t wait. Keep at her Coop 🍻
Boy, I need another 2 hours of you two talking. Enjoyed every minute of it and I know you guys have so much more to talk about.
He will be back on! Thank you for the feedback and watching
Bringing fresh eyes and thought processes into the tuning realm is absolutely great. Way back when I was in engineering school tuning wasn’t a thing. Well, maybe in a very small niche of professional racing but the tech just wasn’t there. The best day of class ever in my least favorite class (Chem II) was when the prof came in and said “Today we are going to have fun.” as he looked squarely at me. He already knew I was a gearhead so he was just waiting to see my reaction. He strolled up to the chalkboard and wrote out the formula for nitromethane. My eyes lit up! He asked who, obviously other than me, what it was called. Yup. Best chem day ever. He even had a vial of it in his pocket which he gave to me at the end of the class after Finals. Prized possession and memory.
Always been super thankful to be so near to BMP and even more so since Vic has taken the lead in the last several years!
Great podcast!!!
Early 90's bracket racer, late 90 mid 2000's quick 8 racer. Atco was our home track. But we would sneak over to Englishtown to test. Many trips to Cecil and Maple Grove with a few trips to BMP and OSW thrown in.
I've been away from the track for quite some time, but damn, you guys have me wanting to move to Bradenton!!!
Thank you!
Great guest
Just got to this part of the podcast. News flash, Atco just shut down. I am so glad I don’t live in that dump of NJ any more. Grew up going to Sumer nationals in englishtown and that’s gone. My dad just called me a couple weeks ago to let me know Atco shut down too.
all the tracks shutting down talk hits home. my home track was 75-80 in maryland. great little track. RIP
One thing that would help with keeping tracks open and profitable is for every racer that has a u-tube channel should include more about the track, the people, the vibe at the track they go to, I see too many channels that all their content is about the car and not the experience of racing at that particular track. U-tubers need to promote more than just their channel, they should promote the sport as a whole.
First timer event is a FANTASTIC idea. Gotta keep young blood coming to the tracks so they dont die!
Coopers idea about the 10 person team bracket event would be super fun!
Definitely have Victor back on very cool listening to you guys especially because I am originally from Long Island also and used to race my 1968 Camaro in the Hamptons all the time. The good old days.
Keep up the great work Cooper.
Coop, you're really in your zone with these podcasts! Add Victor, man what a great watch. Thank you both.
I think having a learner's night would be an incredible. Being able to just run what you have while someone's there to talk you through it would be great. I can't tell you how long I've wanted to run my dually down the track but I feel stupid, I don't expect it to be fast but it's what I have and I really would love to experience running it out for a quarter mile in a safe way. The problem I have is that I've never been on a drag strip and I feel really stupid pulling up in a one ton truck having no idea what I'm doing.
TX2K since 2002!!! will try to follow to Dallas.
it does suck when a track closes ! that is the main reason i havent moved out of ohio we have 13-14 drag tracks in ohio and i wanna say 3-5 road coarses , im very fortunate i have summit racing 30 min from my house , jegs is 2 hours and i have drag strips within 1 hour of my house and about 7 within 2 hours than a road course 6 min away, victor has the right mindset ill make it down next year sometime to make some passes at bmp!
Always liked Victor, now I appreciate him more for all that he brings to the table in all that he is involved with. Great job Coop, getting better and better each time. This was engaging the whole way! Being from, and living in the northeast, it has been painful observing all these track closing starting with my home track, Connecticut International all through the list and now ATCO. I raced at them all except LI dragway. (BTW my wife is from Riverhead). I raced at the Pan Ams, Import vs Domestic at E-Town. A piece of me dies every time one of these tracks close. Including PBIR. I raced at Moroso Motorsports Park at just about every Import race from 2002-2006.
Have Cleetus let you borrow 5 of his crown Vic’s for the beginners night to see how it goes! I would love to see new guys have someone to coach them that first day would be huge! That is how most of the motorcycle track days are for first timers and it really helps with those first time nerves.
one of the best ones yet
Great content as always. The track in my town closed and great bend ks is 2hr drive but it's closed due to repairs and we another 1 hour away and I just went to nhra's last event in topeka ks now that track is closing and it's sad cause it's not just drag there there's road course go kart dirt bike and more
Favorite episode, victor such a humble guy. Big shout out to victor for everything he does for the sport.
I agree with Victor on Englishtown. I was born and raised right near the track and remember hearing all the events. I loved it! I raced there in highschool with my parents car lol Even seeing all the streetcars driving through town during an event was awesome and great for the local economy. The EPA is ruining it for weekend warriors and for people who simply cant afford a straight up racecar.
I think for the 1st timers have a brief class. Go over safety from daily driver street up to some of the cage requirements in faster classes, fire suit, helmet, etc. staging lane through return to the pit etiquette, the tree... basics.
Thanks for doing this, Cooper! I've been really looking forward to this interview. Victor is an inspiration and a great example for the racing community. I'm glad I got to listen to his perspective on things and learn more about him.
COPPER! I would love it if you did a podcast with some of the older guys that used to street race in whitfield park/ university/ 301. Those were the day in the early 2000s. I remember evading back then with a cop helicopter on us from Bradenton to Venice. There was a crazy tan van ((Twinkie) with had a mid engine build. Thing ripped.
Victor is the man! Love ya coop!
Best track in Florida, looking forward to all the events coming up. Keep up the great work!
I miss going to RMR (Rockey Mountain Raceway) in Utah, sucks they had to close it. Now to go drag racing we have to drive hours to go to one.
Man the first timer Friday's or whatever it will be called is a great idea
Hi guys!!! I never have set a foot on a drag strip other than being a fan on the bleachers. I have street race a lot don't get me wrong, but seeing all my favorite RUclipsrs motivated me to try but I don't have clue of the rules, inspections or regulations of the cars&driver is not comun to see on the videos! I tink i will be a great idea to introduce the right way new racers to the sport...
Hey, Vic, I'm proud of you, kid!😊
The track that was local to me growing up only ran 1 test and tune per year and then only ran one race per month from May to Sept. They have always struggled to generate funds for improvements, payouts, etc. The track local to me now is running a test and tune every weekend from Feb to Oct and a race every weekend as well and they do track rentals during the week. I don't see how a track can expect to do well if they only have a handful of times they are open per year.
Also, I remember the weekend that F&F came out, the number of cars and spectators doubled overnight and it consistently stayed the higher attendance after the movie came out.
English town was my first time watching topfuel . Atco was the best test and tune big events now I have two drag cars that are just sitting now
Great interview as always, but i'll love a deeper look into the guests. For us that don't know them very well.
Great episode Coop! Also there is still a few nice tracks up north still. Outside of albany is Lebanon valley and one in NH, new england dragway that the no prep kings race on. But living in St. Pete for over 10 years now and seeing how well BMP has come. The events are great and amazing competition. Nice to see Vic keeping the sport alive.
If you’ve lived in Florida you know exactly what you guys are talking about.
Imokalee is dope it’s my “home track”
Killing it my guy! Make one with Victor, Cleetus and Alan. Should be cool
Good job with these podcast one of best drag racing ones even npk guy trying to bite your style.
I love in jersey and only 30 minuets from Englishtown and I was told it shut down due to noise and complaints from the people who live near by now!!! The rumor with atco is it sold to an auction. They were also confined to noise rules due to near by housing.
Would be cool to get a tec geek working on advancing a hi tec magnetic ride for drag racing.
I live in Palm Beach and was devastated about PBIR, but just went to Immokalee (1 1/2 hours away) and had so much fun. That track has a cool vibe and hopefully continue to grow over there!
Both of you do a great job in your professions.
This one was my favorite yet. Didn't know Victor was from LI also. Luckily those drag racing events at the old Grumman Site in Calverton are starting to really take off and get some traction (no pun intended). Hopefully the land doesn't get sold out form under them. This was the first year they got approval from the DEC to "prep" the surface. So its a start.
We got 5 open and active tracks in Dallas area alone. great show fam
The first timers event is a bad ass idea!!! These local tracks would explode if they would follow this and take advantage of it
The first time race is a awesome idea 🎉 and the ultimate racing challenge is tv season worthy
Plot: drivers all start with a 1970s or whatever year model vehicle and each week get a chance to upgrade 1 or 2 parts only from say a warehouse of random stuff that they only have a few minutes to look through so they don’t know what is there and test to go as fast as possible for a weekly elimination bracket race😅
another great podcast! We need Victor back to talk about IP and Supras.
Nice to see an old friend in Victor doing great! #Cursed Supra
One thing I know about a good tuner is he need to know about suspension, cuz everybody knows how to make power but only a few knows how to put the power down.
Talking about the first timer event. Get Cleetus involved! He has a whole entire fleet of crown vics that would be perfect!
Nailed it Cooper, 1/8 mile track would be awesome.
We’ve got Evadale Raceway in Southeast Texas right next to Louisiana but it’s 1/8 mile. I think the closest 1/4 mile track is Dallas but that’s like a 6 hour drive
In New England we have 3 tracks that are spread out. New England Dragway in NH, Lebanon Valley in NY and Winterport Dragway in ME. None of them easy to get to for the major of people, such a shame
This was a great pod! Learned a lot!
high school drags gets real competive the compition gets deep between the schools is always deep gets the kids off the street racing
Best show of this type yet! Enjoyed all the talk and watched to the end.
That was funny as hell Victor! " it has a bed on it, Grey in color." I wonder who that could be? 😂😂😂😂😂
Love the prison feel with drinking out of containers you normally wouldn't.
Great interview as always.
You should get Limpy on here. Hes the inspiration behind Street outlaws. He just turned down the spotlight because he didn't think it was best for him and his family. Super down to earth dude.
I've never wanted anyone other then myself to win the lottery. But Victor please win I live 20min from Englishtown.
Have to comment again. With the FL2K should be a 3 point events at OSW, BMP and Gainesville
The closest track to me was Alamo raceway in San Antonio and unfortunately it shutdown and is being torn up and there was no word or atleast any that I’ve heard of why it closed. Now royal purple raceway is gone last major strip is in Dallas now
Great Chat
Sunday releases are epic
Don Garlits, John Force,Rickey Smith,Warren Johnson. Top 5 of all time
Great podcast I never realized that Victor from induction was the same Victor from BMP
A lot of colleges actually offer race team programs for engineering and robotic majors. The one my school offers is Formula SAE, compete against other colleges. Not drag racing but would be cool to see that get started, someone’s gotta host a drag event for these schools race programs with some sorta grant or something for the winners
Need to have John doc when he comes down for fl2k
English towns cousin is rt66 in joliet, IL, similar layout because that's the plan
This is dope. -Ross
Sunday drop? Somebody hit the upload button on accident? Oh well, let's go.
Wrong day when scheduling oops lol
@@BogettiStudios no complaints from me, there wasn't anything worth watching this morning until i saw this pop up so was an instant click. thanks for the "oops". :)
No hurt feelers here, I can't help but think that you should ditch the truck and get a small rv to tow with and use as a mobile studio kinda like Steve-O. You could get some more great guests at like Cleetus and cars and Tx2k that aren't normally near Florida.
Yes guy was from New York he was promoting the new 1/8 mile on the mountain in va , he was guy with the top hat type hat at County hearing
What a great interview!! I definitely appreciate all the insight!!
Nice morning surprise
