  • We have been anxiously awaiting this day for quite some time and we couldn't be happier to introduce you to the new Dart Iron Eagle 2JZ! This new cast block will be an integral part of our world renowned 2JZ engine program moving forward and in this video we break down all of the features of the new block while also giving you a peak behind the curtain as we assemble this unit for immediate testing in the real world starting April 19-20 at The Reunion at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

    Ford started using “diamond impregnated washers” on their cam, crank gears with no keyways back in 04 on their Duratec 4cyls and only bolt tension holding them in place

    So good cores are hard to find but what about heads? Still in production in non vvti and vvti? That's gonna be the next big part of the puzzle if anyone's starting a fresh pretty much everything else can be had aftermarket

    Build Tip: Rotate engine block 90° and use the assistance of gravity when tightening or untightening high torque fasteners. This eliminates the necessity of bracing the engine stand with your foot.

    The gas ports on the top of the piston are a weird choice especially if it's an ethanol engine they can get gunked up. I'm no expert just a guy whose seen some things 😂 but i have auto anxiety lmao. So im biased haha

      They are vertical gas ports to help the rings seal under high boost, high cylinder pressure conditions. Thanks for watching!

      We will find out! We typically do not do fire rings on OEM cast blocks but we are working on a custom copper gasket with fire rings for this new Dart block because we anticipate a need for them on the highest horsepower builds like what we run on the billet blocks.

      @@inductionperformance gotcha I’m shooting for 1400 whp with the same BC 90 mm billet crank with Honda journals. Do you think it’s necessary for me to do fire rings even with CA 625 head studs?
