Man oh man. Only with Than can you get such an amazing EDUCATIONAL video about an amazing topic and in depth and length without making it boring. I will watch this video over and over again. Please keep doing what you’re doing Than!
i feel ya man. I go to playlist and pick coral spotlights n just let it play thru. gives me something to listen too at work, that educates me for my hobby
Your production value is second to none in the coral game. I work in film, and I'm very impressed with the quality of your "coral cinematography". Bravo! Also great insight into the genus, and so well organized. You have my vote sir.
I watch your videos before I go to bed. Your angelic soothing voice makes me fall asleep with a smile on my face. My wife has kicked me out of the bedroom and I now sleep on the couch.
i believe brs and tidal, are both the most professional people doing youtube videos. im sure there are a few more that i havent found them lol. mad hatter is ok but i like his pod cast with guest more then his channel. i like listening to people chat about their experiences... Nobody can beat Than's calm educational voice tho lol
What a fantastic video, Than. Thanks for taking the time to create and share it. You always capture such beautiful shots of corals, and they leave me in awe. The background music that you use always seems to enhance the mood of your videos. Well done.
Yes! This is video is an abriged version of that article. I think I wrote 19 pages or something for CORAL and I went into more subtopics, but I covered a lot here.
This video was excellent. The length is fine when you put forth so much useful information. This format should be a template. Thank you for the information
I love all of your videos! Very informative and I can even pop on the headphones at work and get some knowledge like a podcasts, thanks for taking the time and sharing your knowledge in reefing
Thanks Than!!! Love the video and as always the photography and editing is second to none. Also, got my live show order Tuesday and they are a great addition to my reef. Thanks again for a great video!!!
Very awesome video so much info, that will hopefully help me get some better growth out of my acros, your voice is so relaxing and understandable and that really helps me take it all in , thank you for all these great coral videos,
Hey Than, I was initially skeptical about the length of the video but ended up liking it. It's almost like listening to a podcast, I also loved the reference to additional videos. I think you now have enough RUclips videos to do playlists - such as an Acropora SPS Guide
I took a look back and it's been 5 years since I did a video on Acropora and it was only 5 min long, so I felt it was time to do a deep dive into the topic.
Amazing video Than, super insightful and covers a whole breadth of knowledge necessary for keeping acros. I'll be watching this one numerous more times.
Full full full of information. I say this the ultimate Acropora knowledge. How can give a thousand like 😀👍. FYI this my second time watching and I am amazed.
I just finished watching this great video again, so much great information, I think I am going to have to watch it again!!! Than, you Sir are a book of knowledge and very passionate of your work, every video that I have ever watched from your channel , I have learned something. Thank you again for taking the time to do these videos because it’s very time consuming!!! Are y’all having another barbecue this year?
Amazing video!! Thank you so much!! Really the most important parameters explained very easily!! Keep these extremely educational and valuable videos coming, please please please. Again, thanks a lot!!
What is the Acro @ 37:18? I got a Frag of that a few months ago. Since I've had it. The blue has turned more to a beautiful purple and the polyps staid green.
Best acropora aimed informational vid ever. Thanks Than! Link to a more detailed “Maintenance of chemical parameters” please? Where you saw 3 different tanks with 3 very different approach to chemical control. As well as links to a more in depth look at Ca, Alk & Mag params. Thanks. Didnt see those links in the description of your video.
My goodness. I’m super excited after watching your video. I just purchased my first set of SPS and was needing some advice on what the gph water flow turn over needed. What kinda sump and media do they like best. And really needed ASAP is what brand or recommended lights, maybe some that I can link to an app and adjust light spectrums if needed. And placement of the acropolis I bought. Wish I would of bought from you first but just found your channel. Here’s what I purchased. Did you say calcium at 1425 ppm Alkalinity at 8-9 dKH Magnesium? Maroon BTA CB Rainbow Infusion Palys #1 JF Dayglo Flavian #2 John Deere Leptastrea #1 Awesome Aquacultured Yuma CC Blueberry Fields Leptastrea Hidden Gem Acro #19 WWC Kiwi Litho Blondies Zoanthid #1 Halle Berry Paly #2 Nuclear Green Astreopora PPE Cyphastrea Punk Rock Girl Zoanthids #2
You have to add calcium? Here in the American southwest there is high calcium content in groundwater. A possible reclamation in air tight confines with dehumidifiers recharging back to aquifers and maybe large enough as a supplemental education for school field trips? Then crush and dispose of dead coral to landfills?
Dr. G's Coral Dip (includes same active ingredient as Intercepter) for Red Bugs. I'm planning my first reef tank and waited until I could secure this. Plus Bayer. Commercial facilities like TG have so much incoming coral that things are tough. In theory, home tanks should easily be able to prevent infection.
I have not personally used an M50, but my friend who has a tech channel did an in-depth review of it on his channel: ruclips.net/video/luYV0dTxoWE/видео.html Also consider an SL2 as an entry level Canon.
Thanks for the video! Where can I find the very red/purple acropora at 17:31 in the center back. I've been searching for one with that color, but couldn't find any.
I've got a new set of acropora frags, very colorful. Should I be doing something special to frags or just keep them acclimated for a few weeks b/f gluing them? thanks. Also, is it normal if colored tips disappear in acro frags?
hello sir.. i am an aquaculture student who doing a Final Year Project about the growth of Acropora sp in different substrate in semi-closed aquarium... can u suggest me the species that easy to culture and the subtrates ?
isn't heat generated from metal halides generally preferable for a growing facility since your aquarium is kept at ~78f, you can just regulate the room to the higher temp? at the very least, it would mean it does't impact your bill as much if you would otherwise be running a heater.
So cool I'm learning about coral s. I bought old coral s vintage coral from the ocean . I see change s starting to happing some things u said about feeding my old dead white coral s blue light s on. There all pink starting to look fuzzy I noticed growth. U showed coral s feeding I have some are doing this. This the 2 batch of coral s I bought the set no response. This set is old wild coral s. Have the same coral s u was talking about and so others would be awesome if they would come back alive. Some people say no once it dead it's dead I have to disagree I been working on this project for years. Old wild coral s seem to have a better response. Than sps coral s the stuff u buy from the store. Some old timer said ya it would come back if everything is right. So do you think I'm crazy or do think it is coming back. More I leave the Blue light's on more and more pink corals get and fuzzy growth has not been a week yet seeing change s.
I have my turbos knocking one particular PC rainbow colony into my huge blasto colony in the sand… they’ve been laid together for hours with minimal damage. Guess I’m just lucky
Great video! However I have to comment about the T5’s.. BRS investigates tested T5 tubes and concluded they experience very little spectrum and intensity change until 18 months, with dimming having little effect.
Thank you for making another learning video rather then a selling video
Problem with selling videos is that im unable to buy since im not in the US... as many in this Chanel
Water condition: * slightly fluctuates *
Acropora: *aight imma die*
Lol
I am just getting into acropora and I have watched this at least 5 times.
Your production value is second to none in the coral game. I work in film, and I'm very impressed with the quality of your "coral cinematography". Bravo! Also great insight into the genus, and so well organized. You have my vote sir.

I love these high definition reef videos! Thanks for the fuzzy sticks, Than!
Great video Than. A fantastic elaboration from the article you wrote for the CORAL magazine earlier. Some of the corals you macro shot here are fab. 😍
Yes! This is video is an abriged version of that article. I think I wrote 19 pages or something for CORAL and I went into more subtopics, but I covered a lot here.
Thanks Than! Your videos always contain the best information presented beautifully. And with the corals that arrived today, you have a fan here.
I wish all your care videos were this long... ha. One of your best.
This video was excellent. The length is fine when you put forth so much useful information. This format should be a template. Thank you for the information
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful. Always love your work Than. Speechless shots of the acros. Candy for the eyes!

Nice video with some good information and advice :)
Great content
great video. Very well put together 🤜🤛👍.
Than, Great video. Follows your article in CORAL magazine well.
Always a great video than
Acropora are the most frustrating, stress inducing coral I've ever owned. Never again. My lifespan was shortened by these things. lol
They are definitely not for everyone.
Tidal Gardens sounds like a giver-upper to me
Than's easy SPS video has been my guideline. I run on pociliporids and the occasional bullet proof acro. Its a peaceful life lol.
Excellent information. I wander how those corals survive at ocean
What is the Acro @ 37:18? I got a Frag of that a few months ago. Since I've had it. The blue has turned more to a beautiful purple and the polyps staid green.
Best acropora aimed informational vid ever.
Thanks Than!

Im watching your aquarium!🐟🐠🐡🐙🐚🦀🦐🦑

I know this is a little off topic but I'm looking to buy a camera (Canon M50) for shooting my aquarium do you think it's a good option?
I have not personally used an M50, but my friend who has a tech channel did an in-depth review of it on his channel: ruclips.net/video/luYV0dTxoWE/видео.html
Also consider an SL2 as an entry level Canon.
Sl2 is my second option 🤔 I really like the view finder on the mirrorless set up .. Thanks for the help
So which acros are best to use as "canary " for pests???
Thanks love your videos
Thanks for the video! Where can I find the very red/purple acropora at 17:31 in the center back. I've been searching for one with that color, but couldn't find any.
It's called a red dragon. You can probably find it online somewhere. I can't keep it alive.
I've got a new set of acropora frags, very colorful. Should I be doing something special to frags or just keep them acclimated for a few weeks b/f gluing them? thanks. Also, is it normal if colored tips disappear in acro frags?
Can you make a video about the different types of acro? Milli vs tenius vs spath?
Love that video 🙏🏾 to the king 🤴 of corals
Haha the king. Thanks!
hello sir.. i am an aquaculture student who doing a Final Year Project about the growth of Acropora sp in different substrate in semi-closed aquarium... can u suggest me the species that easy to culture and the subtrates ?
What is the song at 0:35 it’s not “peace of mind”
You are right. It is "Raindrops" by David Cutter
Woohoo thanks
I just ordered a acropora and didnt notice its one.. Now I need to get prepared before it arrives xD. But my water is 100% good.

What are some of these Canary Acropora ?
Stan The Man!
What are those feathery thing living in the coral
Barnacles I think.
what is 30 par when referring to light
30 PAR is very dim.
Great video Than killed it
@ 4:28 sorry. I'd like to know if it has a " " name.
I'm bad with names. I don't know :/
