@@GEARHEADdezign spacing on 99/2000 will be different. 99/2000 2500 trucks originally bolted to 4L80E has an extended crank. The same spacing as the old small block

2005 chevy 1500 excab 4x4 5.3 4l60e. I want to swap to a manual trans. Either 5-6spd. What do I need for my swap? Parts list. Programming for my electric throttle body? Cross members? The whole list. Thank you.

    • @GEARHEADdezign

If you do nv3500 or nv4500 5spd it will be pretty much a direct swap. You'll need a 32 spline transfer case though... Manuals and 2500s got the same tcase. 1500 autos are 27 spline. Pedals obviously and a 5spd tune would be smart. You also have to rewire the neutral safety switch

With all of your measurements, how does a T-56 compare in length to a 4L60E? I’m not worried about a drive shaft, but more curious about the mounting options on an ‘03 GMC.

Thinking of 5 or 6 speed swapping a 1995 impala ss. I know the lt1 t56 is a direct bolt on (based on what ive read on forums), but those are pretty expensive. What would you recommend?

Depending on how hard to drive and how much power you make, a T5 might survive. But the nv3500 I tried in my Beretta was just way too short for the shifter position. T56 is probably your best option. That's what I ended up doing in my Beretta

I actually have a video about this coming out as soon as I get one more measurement....
But. The factory bolted up nv3500s and nv4500s in 2wd and 4wd, so you know they'll fit. I have a zf6 in my truck, that according to my measurements will also work with an LS, and I'm putting an sm465 on a 5.3 for my blazer soon. Just about anything SBC or LS or BBC or Dmax bellhousing bolt pattern can work.

    • @GEARHEADdezign

The lt1 is 11" clutch with 153 tooth flywheel and BBC is usually 12" clutch with 168. The lt1 bell won't fit over the 168 flywheel

    • @GEARHEADdezign

@GEARHEADdezign what about a saginaw 4 speed? I know where to find both for a reasonable price. Any muncie near me people want twice the price just for the trans without bell housing or shifter and linkage. Then I'm doing the mods for a clutch peddle and so on...I'd probably be in it for 1500 bucks doing a muncie swap. Nearly half what I paid for the car. My th350 is slipping in and out of 3rd though.
