All the vanillas- listen, an old, black lady once told me: She was poor growing up and she couldn't afford perfumes but her mama was a baker...She would dab good vanilla extract behind her ears- and the boys and men would flock around her! Some (often american) youtubers talk about constant compliments and being "chased dowh the street" about a fragrance. I don't believe that they make it up. But I live in Scandinavia and people don't just comment on strangers' scent. People mostly keep to themselves and generally don't want to intrude. My husband, family and girlfriends do compliment my fragrances. But I have never experienced being stopped by a stranger to comment on my fragrance 😊

Me too! It’s such a clean, fresh (but not freshie), effortless, chic fragrance. Have you tried JHAG Sunny Side Up and Clean Reserve Sueded Oud? They’re all kind of in the same genre.

My nose is very sensitive I pick up fowl smells before I come up on it. I digress~ alot of strong scents makes me sick to my stomach that's why I gravitate to fresh scents. New subscriber from the US! I’m with you Maria, aquatic freshies can nauseate me too. The one thing that’s always amused me is the complaints about Jo Malone. Like, do people not understand what cologne is? It’s literally made to be resprayed frequently lol. What’s the purpose of complaining about performance with something that is NOT supposed to be perform like an EDP? 🤣 JM does make cologne intense formulas too and others that last longer, but I only ever hear this complaint about the colognes, and my eyes hurt from rolling so hard.
To rephrase - For the “price”, their colognes should definitely perform better. Even as the “colognes” they are. I have Elizabeth Arden ones that will give Jo Malone a run for its money. 😃
Thanks for subscribing! Yes, it's true, they are a cologne. The issue is that they are a cologne for EDP prices!! For me, I struggle to pay the price for something that will only last a few hours. That said, if you love it then it's likely worth it!!
I cannot tolerate strong woody base notes on my skin, just like you Maria ... too headache inducing! (eg. Angel Nova) I also have a strange relationship with vanilla ... if it is vanilla orchid or the vanilla is a top note or a middle note, I like it ... but if it is a base note or if it is "bourbon vanilla" I feel nauseous and immediately get a headache. It's a very odd trait of mine I know. 🤷🏻♀️
I could never get over the medicinal part of BR 540! 😢I do get the spin sugar and that is fascinating but I have never gotten a compliment on it (granted just samples thank goodness ha ) it has given a headache and the dupes as well oh well I can do cloud ha

Vanilla, depending on what it’s paired with, can be almost an aphrodisiac. It is in my top 3 fragrance notes.

New subscriber from the US! I’m with you Maria, aquatic freshies can nauseate me too. The one thing that’s always amused me is the complaints about Jo Malone. Like, do people not understand what cologne is? It’s literally made to be resprayed frequently lol. What’s the purpose of complaining about performance with something that is NOT supposed to be perform like an EDP? 🤣 JM does make cologne intense formulas too and others that last longer, but I only ever hear this complaint about the colognes, and my eyes hurt from rolling so hard.
To rephrase - For the “price”, their colognes should definitely perform better. Even as the “colognes” they are. I have Elizabeth Arden ones that will give Jo Malone a run for its money. 😃
I could not agree more! For colognes, they are extremely overpriced. I just can’t spend that on a cologne.
Thanks for subscribing! Yes, it's true, they are a cologne. The issue is that they are a cologne for EDP prices!! For me, I struggle to pay the price for something that will only last a few hours. That said, if you love it then it's likely worth it!!

I cannot tolerate strong woody base notes on my skin, just like you Maria ... too headache inducing! (eg. Angel Nova) I also have a strange relationship with vanilla ... if it is vanilla orchid or the vanilla is a top note or a middle note, I like it ... but if it is a base note or if it is "bourbon vanilla" I feel nauseous and immediately get a headache. It's a very odd trait of mine I know. 🤷🏻♀️

I could never get over the medicinal part of BR 540! 😢I do get the spin sugar and that is fascinating but I have never gotten a compliment on it (granted just samples thank goodness ha ) it has given a headache and the dupes as well oh well I can do cloud ha

@@mariacollettlife I decided to order the Perfume Parlour dupe of SDV, since I wanted to try one of their other dupes as well (wax melts of Fracas-type. Fracas makes a terrific room scent!). But doesn't Perfume Parlour have the worst dupe names ever?!?! "Two Flavours for Women"??? LOL
