I can not explain how much joy it brings me every time Terry Silver says “Asa!!!” while fighting 😆
Agreed!

It's my favorite kiai
Yes man
Loves it
Thomas Ian Griffith is KILLING IT as Terry Silver. He is Emperor Palpatine'ing the shit out of this role.
I agree! I thought I was the only one who felt that Vibe coming from him!
Hes the best
I literally said the same thing! Daniel fight with silvers felt like it came from Star Wars
Daniel is Luke skywalker
@@CrazyWilly0408 - INTERGALACTIC FACTS!!!
This show never ceases to amaze me with how well they add the flashbacks to the current events.
It’s done so well every time they do it. Even through five seasons this show has managed to perfectly blend the nostalgia of the movies with new stories and angles. A lot of shows that came back banked way too much on the nostalgia and not on a fresh story and within one or two seasons they were done.
something current star wars is lacking
I see what you did there lol
@@TheDMB411987 You're right, most of the shows die cause of the bad writing and production but this one holds the cake with everything. Can't wait what they're gonna show us in the 6th season hopefully it's in the production at this point.
How bad it is you

When I found out that Thomas Ian Griffith retired in 2007 but came back to play Terry Silver in the show, I was amazed that he doesn't look or feel like a person who retired. He came back strong and his fight against Daniel felt like a Shakespeare play with the epic music and seeing an old enemy from the past. This show surprised me and I'm glad it got made.
So does that mean Dutch from Johnny's gang could come back bcuz he retired also but idk I wanna see him n mike barnes at it 2 ruthless people at it ever thought about that fight
@@HAMMOS75 I read Chad McQueen expressed no interest in returning to acting.
Of course he didnt look like he retired, cuz he dedicated nearly his entire life to martial arts and still trains to this day

I honestly thought he was gonna mess Daniel up way worse and pretty much take him out for the season. All I was thinking waiting for Season 5 was that Silver was finally gonna show Danny boy "the true meaning of pain". But Stingray got it way worse than him.

You can really see the vulnerability in Daniel's eyes when he's facing the monster from his past. Such a good scene.
Especially when Silver threatened his wife and kids.
Indeed.
It's like a sexual assault victim coming face to face with their abuser after several decades.
Yes
@Galen Joyce He knew Daniel would be off balance if he provoked him into charging at him. Exact opposite approach with Johnny where he ambushed him and then later finished him with a chain combo that forced him to play defense. "Everyone has a weakness".
2:38 Silver literally reads Daniel's mind with this gesture. "Well Danny Boy, it's been 30 years and I'm still waiting for an answer....what are you gonna do about it?"
I think that’s going to happen to Terry Silver too if he battles with John Kreese reading Terrys mind with Vietnam flashback
@@manuellim6284imo terry beats kreese Johnny kicked his ass but got distracted and he is not the best of fighters
@@JaidenDavis69 Kreese was traumatized by the past just like Rocky and Adonis Creed
@@manuellim6284 I think this is the case. It's alluded that the flashbacks we see are the ones he was reminiscing about currently.
When he said life isn't fair to his students, he thought of Junior Kove tripping him. When Turner was about recruiting soldiers, he went to a high school gymnasium. When he looked at the photo of him and his friends, you can see him emotionally be struck by it in current day. Most obvious of all is his reminiscence of Terry's promise and calls him after he remembers it.
So applying that logic to his fight with Johnny. It was all about life or death, if he fell victim to showing mercy or not pulling dirty tricks, he dies. This is probably why Kreese said "This isn't how I wanted this to end" so he doesn't want to, but he's making it out that he has to. He was fighting passively, not aggressively.
I love the smile Silver has on his face when Daniel looks at his knuckles. He knows what Daniel is thinking about and he knows that he has already beaten Daniel mentally and he finished him off physically leaving him broken. This is the Bane fight from TDKR for Daniel and Silver in my opinion
I felt so angry at this scene watching Silver beating the hell out of Larusso. Never seeing that sensei down in this series.
@@PhillDrakeEntertainment yeah I felt sorry for Daniel in this scene he reverted back to a young boy in this scene trying to take on his old tormentor who was now threatening his family.

I've always loved him
You should have seen him in "Timecop 2 The Berlin Decision"
Amazing actor. AMAZING
Can it be his last acting?
Terry must REALLY love fighting. He still smiles whenever he’s in one
Edit: ahh I love it when a comment starts a thread of conversation. Brings me joy 🥲
Only when he has the upper hand
He fights like a Sith Lord. Those last couple of lines is almost out of TCW's "The Lawless". Mercy=death.
@@brucechmiel7964 He's the karate version of Palpy
@@mat7083 Nah, he didn't hesitate to fight chozen
@@tinyanlee672 I think Terry wielding a katana compared to Chozen’s sais made him feel pretty cocky, but let’s not forget he used his quicksilver method at the last minute.
2:39 I noticed, Daniel tried to use his flashback as an advantage and fought more offensively(kinda like how Miguel does), but Terry knew what he was doing when he made Daniel’s knuckles bleed and was a step ahead, he knew Daniel was thinking of that moment and was going to fight more offensively. Terry is an extremely smart fighter.
He just knew Daniel was beaten. I doubt he remembered making his knuckles bleed 35 years ago like Daniel did

His great at playing the bond villain that’s for sure
A little mind blowing fact:
1. Terry Silver actor, Thomas Ian Griffith, is younger than Daniel LaRusso actor Ralph Macchio.
2. They're both older in this season than Pat Morita was in Karate Kid 3 where they were both starred in.
BUT Silver is supposed to be at LEAST 10 years older based on the movie.
But Silver is supposed to be at LEAST 10 years older based on the movie.
Dye Thomas' hair and remove the dye from Ralph's hair (or dye his hair grey if it is natural) and they will likely look more close to their real age. Still both of them looks great for their age, especially Ralph.
I think Ralph is pretending to be born in 1961
Daniel the character is like 5 years younger than Ralf Machio the actor

I give him huge credit I dont think he ever really trained in his life at least dang sure not like Silver and Johnny have in real life and they show it just with how well they choreograph, but huge huge props to Daniel/Macchio man not only does he look freakishly good for his age, but can actually see him gradually improve each season as well season 1 he was definitely more rusty not as graceful etc, he still faked it and pulled it off more then fine, but def bit ya know choppy and wooden but each season he got better and better and better I'm sure there team is great to thats big part of it no doubt but Macchio absolutely has done an amazing job presenting himself as a very believable capable karate fighter and yeah like I said has only improved his skills and choreography each season as well great stuff all around!.
He has a condition that makes him age a lot slower than everyone else. Also Thomas Ian Griffith ( the actor of Terry Silver ) is the same age as Ralph Macchio.
@@nicklee8160Thomas is a little bit younger than Ralph, but not by much, less than a year I think
Yeah but only by six months, but they were both 60 years old at the time of Cobra Kai: Season 5.
It’s crazy silver got him to break his defense only mindset and made Daniel strike first. Dude is phenomenally good at playing Terry
Cause Robby gave all the secrets of Miyagi Do defense to Cobra Kai
Interesting contrast between this and the fight with Johnny. Being a lifelong CK practitioner, Silver probably knew he was strong offensively but had holes in his defense so he knew he'd be able to get the drop on him with that initial ambush and ended up finishing him with a chain combo that forced Johnny to play defense for just a second too long. What he did to Daniel here is pretty much exactly what he did to Johnny but in reverse.
@@Bulmas_Panties What about Terry Silver's defense? Also, what about when Silver was more than a decade younger in Karate Kid 3 than Johnny Lawrence here? Fantastic scene. Terry Silver was one of those enemies who want to break the spirit, not the body. They're the most dangerous
I love the look that Terry has on his face when Daniel says he's out of the war. Like he's going to find a new way to provoke him because he knows how to get under his skin. Making sure that Daniel never gets a break, not even a little bit.
Daniel lost his internal balance and fought off raw emotion, which is exactly what Terry wanted and it played into his game plan, but we all saw what happened when Daniel fought with a calm, balanced mind with precise attacks
Daniel only won the second fight because Silver was greatly injured from being sliced by Chozen who Silver just beat. At 100% Daniel can't beat Silver.

Not being a karateka, I'm not sure how good the fights actually are choreography-wise, but the story they tell are why I think people still love Cobra Kai fights. Everything about how Silver fights speaks to who he is, that detached picking of the right tool for the job, the glee of his face and the "assahs", and how he puts so much focus on the psychological warfare all convey that character. Same for the others, like with Kreese's intentionally harder, combative style that makes no qualms about playing dirty.
Terry Silver is like that secret boss in a video game. And that head butt was so clean. He is built like a ufc light - heavyweight.
That was pretty brutal. Silver knew that Daniel poses a major threat to him because he was defeated by Daniel and Mr Miyagi in Karate kid 3 once, so he wasn't gonna let that happen again. The reason Daniel was off balance and deeply depressed is because his wife Amanda refuses to listen to him about what Terry Silver is capable of and left him because Silver manipulated her against him and that got Daniel off balance. That's why Daniel lost to Silver on that one because Amanda leaving him caused it, so technically she was responsible for Daniel losing that one because she let Terry Silver manipulate her like a fly into a spiders web of lies and deception.
On the other hand, if Daniel wasn't so messed up in the head because of Amanda refusing to listen, it would have been a pretty even battle between both Daniel and Silver at 100 percent because Daniel knew Silvers tactics and he's a master at defense. Silver knew that Daniel at 100 percent balance would pose a serious threat to him so he played mindgames to break him mentally and physically, it's that simple. If you're mentally and emotionally messed up, you already lose before a fight even starts, the fact is that the moment Silver manipulated Amanda, Daniel already lost that first fight before it began.
Then it was off to Ohio, where she wound up meeting Jessica.
@@AllRequired that's true as well. Thank goodness Jessica actually opened Amanda's eyes to the truth that Silver was nothing but a lying psychopath and the fact that Daniel was right. True But he lost because silver was just better than him because Johnny and Daniel tied but silver beat Johnny with mid diff
@@lostinamattison23 that's true, but Daniel hasn't fully embraced the offense side yet and that's also why he lost to Silver that time. To beat an opponent like Silver, a true master needs to embrace both offense and defense balanced together, like his daughter Sam did, with more time she might pose a threat to Silver and she did pose a threat to his plans but unfortunately Sam would get massacred by Silver if she went up against him head to head because that guy was on a much higher level and she's no match for that monster.
0:42 , That slight snake like alignment alone is literally like a snake positioning itself for a strike ..... brilliant 🐍🐍
Daniel was nice enough to buy another Playstation for Stingray after breaking his old one.
This fight reminds me of the first fight between Batman and Bane
impressive how terry can do such quick movements considering he’s old, thats why you should never underestimate an old person
…you never truly know what their capable of
Old man can kick!
He’s 70 years old
It probably helps that he never stopped practicing. That keeps you in shape, even as you get older.
lol, look at professional boxers. Most of them are over the hill at 40. Cobra Kai is all make believe.
@@manuellim6284 how can he be 70 if he's younger than Macchio?
It is always darkest just before the dawn. And so it is for Daniel. Before he achieved his biggest victory, he had to suffer his biggest defeat.
Terry was like Bane in this scene “you think darkness is your ally”
Can we just agree how great Thomas played the main villain in cobra Kai
It was worth every goddamn second.
Yes fr
Man this fight was so intense loved it
2:30
Terry Silver: "Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated... but we are initiated, aren't we Danny boy? Members of the Cobra kai dojo!"
(3:03 And Terry put his foot on Daniel's neck)
Terry Silver: "And you betrayed us!"
Daniel: "You were abandoned... by a gang of psychopaths!"
Terry Silver: "I AM the Cobra kai dojo, and i'm here to fulfill Kim Sun Young's destiny!... We will destroy Miyagi-do dojo and then, when it is done and you and your family be ruined, then you have my permission to surrender."
Dude, shut up. Not everything has to be Batman
@@williammccormick2802 Yes it does, you shut up
@@williammccormick2802 lol
@@williammccormick2802 Why you gotta do him like this, man? LMFAO.
If I could star this comment I would lool.
It never ceases to amaze me how pure evil and badass Silver is ever!!!
Basically "The real pain begins now Danny Boy"
fr
Yeah then everytime after Terry said that Danie wins.
Love the fact that Terry Silver was kicking ass in Season 5
l am in love with the villain terry silver love the fact that terry silver was kicking his butt in season five and in season four with Johnny Lawrence
Thomas Ian Griffith is the Best Villain I have ever seen on screen.
I hope Director’s are taking note of this awesome actor.I have never hated a villain this bad on TV or Cinema! Hats off to the great Mr.Griffith!
This scene just reminds me how vulnerable Daniel is without Mr. Miyagi. If he was around, there's no contest, but no longer being alive, Silver is free and flexible here.
I mean, Daniel easily whoops his ass in the rematch.
@@Duncle0but like, silver and Daniel were drunk if you watch silver also drinks beer in EP 7, and Daniel had time to recover from walking in The streets in stingray car, unlike silver, he Lost to chozen and had to Go walking to The cobra Kai dojo cuz silver was drunk, he couldent drive
Meanwhile silver was exausted, injured and drunk, Daniel was Just drunk
@@cauanfilipe Silver had a single glass of whatever he drank, unless he had never drinked a single drop of alcohol in his life, he definitely didn't get drunk off of that.
Daniel had been drinking all night long, had ran miles to get to some place with phone signal, and only got 20-30ish minutes to sober up, meaning the effects of the alcohol were still present on him during the fight.
Silver wasn't drunk, and definitely drove there cause he was much further away from the dojo than Daniel was. The only possible factor as to why he lost was he just fought Chozen, but he was going to lose either way.
0:30 pov my teacher when I got bad grades
Been a truly awesome series up to now. Pat would be proud to see what his legacy has become. A true tribute to both his name, and the Karate Kid films. Thankyou to all... Including Terry Silver. Excellent work all round.
I've been waiting for this moment for over 30 years. And the video ended up being 3.27 minutes..........it was worth it.
Terry silver is more scary and dangerous then he was in karate kid 3. Because now he’s older and wiser and smarter. I hope he returns in cobra kai season 6.
he has no reason to return, at least as a big role, maybe give him one last cameo behind bars.
Mike Barnes: "Who are you, his mother?" Terry Silver: "Maybe" Hahahah!
“Let’s not stand on ceremony here, Mr. LaRusso”
Silver must have a tracking device Larusso. Just so he can sneak out of the shadows and surprise Daniel. Lol.
Apple AirTag
Not counting the KARATE KID films, I believe this is the first time in the COBRA KAI series where we actually see Daniel lose a fight.😳
He lost to chozen in season 3
has he even won a 1 on 1 fight with someone with any experience before this fight?
he fought Chozen and Johnny. i believe that's it. he didn't win either
@@Dc-kk9bd yes
@@Dc-kk9bd he beat silver and kreese
Well there’s a silver lining in all this…The PlayStation wasn’t damaged.
Silver has respect for PlayStation unlike Daniel
This season was freaking awesome 👊
Now I wanna watch the hole season again!
Terry: you open the door ,an let me just waltz right in imagine how easy going to be to wrap Cobra Kai gis around both your kids
2:01 here the soundtrack hit the nail. It reminds me a little as OST from Cliffhanger, but here its a hammer. Chills through my spine......
Even better than the LaRusso v Kreese fight in season 3. Silver is more of a threat than John Kreese ever could be
It's a good thing no one was around to see this fight because Goddamn, this beat down was brutal lol
WoW.. Terry Silver fought Daniel LaRusso, Chozen, Johnny Lawrence and Mike BADBOY Barnes.. Season 5 waa worth waiting for.. I cant wait for Season 6.. glad we got A LOT more of Kenny and Devon Lee carrying Cobra Kai
Silver never fought Barnes unfortunately

It is interesting that, even clouded by anger, Daniel is able to land some good shots on Silver. At one point Silver even looks a little worried, if only for a moment, when Daniel backs him up against that pillar.
Fuk no silvers not even taking him serious
@@Undeeniable He was for those few moments that Daniel had him up against that post. You could see the worry in his face.
And you can see the relief in his face too when Daniel starts to go down to the floor @ 2:56 really good acting. He nails the facial expressions. Daniel put up a good fight here. Great build up for the finale.
I hate the idea that Silver underestimated Daniel and make fun of him cause of his height and strength yet he didn't know how miyagi do is more badass than tang soo do

I love how terry silver is always smiling when he fights, it does add to his character so much
This was the best fight of the season.
I agree
as a silver fan yes i loved it.
Silver indeed is the best villain in the series. So well written, classical music killer, wicked smile on his face...
