It was a misunderstanding and I beleive it heavily revolved around johnny too where robbie was jealous that he was in Miguel's life more than he ever was in robbie's life and miguel got jealous that Johnny showed favoritism a few times to his actual kid than to him and his students.
In season 2 they were cool until tori pushed Sam at the skating rink

One punch can be all it takes to kill you irl, just like one shot, one stab wound, or one out of nowhere accident can because most humans don’t have plot armor. If things worked like they did in shows like these, and games like Yakuza however, I honestly think there’d be less hostility or resentfulness in the world. Least, that’s my two cents.
Miguels scream before the fight ends is textbook it tells of all the pain he went through when he fell off the ledge and its the release finally of all the anguish that was building up after the incident now hes ready to move on and continue being a beast

Despite being physically fit again, his back wouldn’t heal mentally cause of his anger towards Robby for putting him in the hospital. Now that they settled their differences and buried the hatchet, the Beast within Miguel slowly returns..

This scene kind of stamped where Johnny is as a person and a dad. He knew this was the only way for them. Sometimes his methods work sometimes Daniels methods work. He decided that his was the one to go with, and he was right. They both needed to just get out their feelings as men and move on, and they did. Well done.

This fight might genuinely be the best fight in the series. The build up. The pay off. The themes. The symbolism. The choreography. The fact that Miguel shows mercy both times. It’s just fucking beautiful. If it’s not the BEST, it’s at least my personal favorite if nothing else

I got so hyped up for this scene when the music kicked in, I felt my heart dropping so hard the tectonic plates shifted. This was absolutely one of the BEST scenes in the entire season, if not the series.
After so many passionate fights that effected their lives, it was beautiful to see this was their last ones. Both honest, and good hearted champions of Daniel and Johnny.

Robby’s maturity is something to behold. He’s really good friends with almost everyone he once hated deeply. He finally realized the world wasn’t against him and that a lot of the times he felt betrayed, they were really just trying to help him.

I love how this fight clearly shows the fighting differences between them. Miguel isn't flashy like hawk and Robby and tends to use simple strikes and combos and he can patiently wait to counterattack as seen how he bloodied Robby's nose. Robby's style is also similar to Miguel's making him strong in offense and defense. he however uses flashy moves. nonetheless best fight hands down in season 5
I think that after the final season they should make the movie I would love nothing more than to see the entire cast again
When Miguel said he only got into karate to be badass and find balance, I noticed that those are why Johnny and Daniel do karate respectively. I like how even the writers know that Miguel is supposed to be a combination of the two.

I think the coolest part about this fight is that it was grounded enough to where both actor carried the majority of the fight without stunt doubles. While stunt doubles are appreciated, from an acting standpoint, the audience can feel the emotion in this fight almost as if there’s a conversation going on.

In this fight nobody was holding back, I was really happy that they both got to use their full potential in this fight and Miguel ended up winning and Robby accepted that and he also accepted his actions for what he did to Miguel in season 3, I’m glad their not enemies anymore their friends

Im a Miguel fan here but I think both won in a way.
This fight shows that if it was tournament rules Robby could have won. Robby landed 3 strikes first (not counting leg kicks as below the belt attacks dont get a point) on Miguel while Miguel had 2 on him.
However, as the fight proceeded Miguel started landing more and eventually beat him.
Miguel is stronger, more experienced, more skilled and more durable. Robby is slightly faster and more agile.
In tournament rules Robby would beat Miguel and become champion, but in a full fledged fight with no restrictions Miguel is more dangerous than anyone else and would finish Robby.

What will always make Miguel the best fighter on the show over everybody else's is he got more 1 on 1 training with Johnny in the beginning where everyone else did in a group. Those grass root days when it was just Miguel and Aisha Johnny personally got to sculpt his brain and made him mentally tougher then he could imagine.
He also has a urge to be great the rest of the fighters don’t work as hard as he has
What I also like is that Miguel reacted the same way that he did in the school fight. His facial expression the exact same

Just watched season 5 and I am speechless. This is probably one of the best seasons yet. This feels like a finale but there’s still the plot twist at the end. EVERYONE had a beautiful character development this season. Miguel, Hawk and Robby become friends and got along. Tory and Sam become friends. Johnny and Daniel finally hashed things out. So many great things and plot twists happened. I love how Miguel and Robby became “brother’s” and how they both accepted that their parents we’re having a kid. I also love how Silver got exposed. The best part of this season was Chozen, he was such a mood. Everyone put a great performance. Can’t wait to see what they do next season!
I hope Demetri and Hawk have more screen time next season

it's awesome how miguel answers "I didn't get into karate to hurt people, I did it to be badass and find a balance." it's cool how humble his is but at the same time has the same philosophy as johnny with the whole being badass thing. Also when miguel and hawk were going to fight in the tournament, when dimitri said "plus it doesn't help that technically no one has ever beaten miguel", still valid xD hahahaha
I think one of the best aspects of this series is that it shows how important mindset is when fighting. Robby and Miguel have both been shown to have enough skill that the fight could have gone either way, but when Robby asks "why did you hold back?" in this fight, and when Miguel asks "Why didn't you hold back?" regarding the fight where Miguel got injured, it really speaks to how beyond just their skills and strength, their headspaces were huge factors to the outcomes of their matches. It's written in a way where instead of just having characters that are flat out stronger than each other, the strongest fighters in the show have this power balance where any of them could beat any of the others dependent on their mental state.
Never thought I'd see the day they talk it out...

In the second season, Robby made the end fight decision. In this scene, Miguel had the end fight decision. It was his decision to end the fight. It was his decision to forgive. If it was left up to Robby again, this feud wouldn't have ended because it was up to Miguel to decide that. What a beautiful amazing scene. The writers took both Miguel and Robby's feelings into consideration, not just Miguel. The worst moment of their lives for both of them.

Miguel fought with anger recalling the stair fall. Robby fought with the guilt, recalling the same stair fall. I didn't say anywhere that Robby is a better fighter..they both have their strengths and they both have their weaknesses. The result varies from a fight to fight. It lies in the heart of a battle.

This was a great finale fight to this rivalry. Finally brought them together to deal with bigger issues.
I like how with this fight, and several scenes from the past episodes of S5, you can see that the anger & hatred is mostly coming from Miguel’s side. Robby has made it clear that he dislikes Miguel, but he’s just chosen not to interact with him and avoid the violence unless someone he cares about gets hurt.

Their fighting stances are so different, Miguel’s fighting stance is kinda open but sold. Robby’s stance is kinda like a boxers stance, and also solid

I like how this was Johnny severely misinterpreting Daniel's advice and there's no way that this is what Daniel wanted, but it still ended up being the thing that worked. He really used the wrong formula and got the right answer

It's amazing to see how both of these characters have matured so much, I couldn't be happier seeing them as friends.

What I like the most about this scene is the flashback where you can hear Samantha scream « Miguel! », when is about to drop his kick to cause Robbie an violent fall. This moment you can see Miguel stop this insane angry feeling and comeback for thinking wisely and foregive Robbie. I like this montage effect and I have so much goosebumps.
Even though the rivalry was bound to end so the show wouldn’t get too predictable, after Johnny tried all those bonding methods I was actually thinking: "You two are hopeless!"

@@4thysoul season 2 Miguel showed mercy. Everyone knew he had robby beat could have broke his arm if not worse. The pool fight was a 2v2 and more of a dance fight if anything. Im talking 1v1 Miguel hasn't been beaten and he proved again this season why he the best.
